The Background is too simple and plain and the scan seems not of a good quality

The background is nice...
Hmmm... are you making a oil pastel efffect?
It looks great... =)
The title on the bottom left suit the scan and the background...
But whats bothering me is the design on the right...
Cos the scan, the background. the title, etc...
Have give a oil pastel feeling...
But the design on the right seems too real for me...
Hmmm... Maybe you can try like having it like a plant behind the scan??
Making it smth like a scenery behind (means more plant)...
But retaining the oil pastel effect...
So that this wallpaper will look somehow like a drawing... =)
This is what i feel... =) Hope you don't mind...
CherryBlossomSakura... the scan seems not of a good quality
I've already tried despeckling and noise > median and all that and on my computer it looks quite okay. Is it too artifacted? Is it too pixelly? Can you give me some suggestions on how to improve on it, short of re-vectoring the whole thing? The thought crossed my mind, but I wanted to preserve the "painted" quality of the scan, so I left it as it was. Do you think it is better if I re-vectored the scan?
indra-symfonia... i think you should fix the light around her head, and if use grunge style with shephia color for the background i think is better than blue color :D.
I just wanted to ask, what exactly is wrong with the light? It looks fine to me, but I think I need you to point it out to me more specifically 'cos I don't think I'm noticing it, LOL. Sometimes you need a third party to look at your mistakes before you realise them. If you want to know, I actually painted over the halo because in the original scan it was very faded and not yellow-glowish. Is my paint job off? Is it too blurry?
As for the sepia colour, I tried it but I'm not very sure. When I'm done I'll post up a sepia-coloured version and the blue-coloured version and see what you guys have to say about it.
Oh and thanks, Babyven for commenting! *hug* I'll try and do something about the plant/vine thing. If anyone's up for a bit of trivia, I actually don't know what that vine-pattern is, LOL. I just drew it because I wanted to add some kind of flourish to the wallpaper. And those little leaf things are actually mini-wings. Do they look like mini-wings? I don't think so, but er, just pretend they're leaves if they don't. ^^;
To be frank I'm actually having a bit of trouble with the background. If you notice, I didn't paint the right side of the wallpaper, choosing instead to draw the vine. Do you think I should paint the entire wall, or keep it as it is?

The only thing is, I'll have to agree with ~Babyven -- I like the vine drawing, but it doesn't fit in, style-wise, with the rest of the elements of the wallpaper. If you could make it look like it was painted, as well, so that it fits in with the rest of the wallpaper, I think it would look nice. (By the way, I did catch the whole "mini-wings" thing when I was looking at it, though they could work as leaves, also. I thought it was rather clever, myself, before I even read your post about it. ^.^)
