I think end was good...

I admit I didn't like the ending either. Although the porch scene was beautiful (I lost count of how many times I watched that scene over and over again), everything that Rosette went through felt like it was all for naught.
I said it before and I'll say it again, to me this ending was akin to the writers stabbing you in the heart and kicking you in the crotch simultaneously and you don't know which one hurts more :P.

To me chrono crusade was one of those disappointing animes to such a point i almost forgot completely that i ever watched it =P it started out well enough got my attention and all but to be honest the story started wearing thin as the show went on till the end which was a disappointing ending to be honest but not a surprising one and well the way they finish off the show was just odd by even the weirdest anime shows standards at least i see it that way and the way they tried to make the end of the show fit actual history was a bit dumb as well if they had just worked alittle more on the story and had thought of a better ending it would have been a much better show it had potential but the messed it up real bad .. i mean the show doesn't have to have a happy ending any anime watcher knows that there are shows for everything with happy and bad endings but the end for chrono crusade was pretty bad by all standards ...
Would you rather have an ending that was the same thing you've seen in just about every show or would you rather have an ending that was completly original? I enjoyed the ending even though it was kinda sad.
The ending was not stupid. It was really original, and i kinda liked it eventhough lots of people died in the end. But i thought it was a rather touching, and a sad ending. Especially that scene with Rosette and Chrono together.
I wasn't too happy with but i don't hate it as much as you..haha...
Did anyone here saw the manga version then?
I didn't see the anime version, but the manga version (I heard) had a slightly better ending.
Nevertheless it was still depressing...let's face it, it's a depressing series. (= =UU)
If no one is afraid of spoilers I can tell you people...that is, if anyone actually is interested. Owo;;;

Yeah...this series had a sad ending, both of them die, for some reason i don't like it, but i think that's the different point Chrno Crusader with other anime who has the same genre ^^
I enjoyed the ending although it was a sad one, i agree with you guys here that it was orginal and it differs from other animes for having a sad ending instead of a happy one it was a change

It was a dramatic ending to a dark-ish anime. They rosette and chrno might've died, but it was gonna happen eventually anyways since there was a binding contract and when the watch stopped, so did they... but hey at least it was peaceful and they saved joshua and stopped Aion in the end, right?
just becuase the characters die, doesn't make it a bad ending... I mean sure it would've been nice for them to have lived happily ever after together as a family, but hey, tragities are really popular... I mean, just look at the attention "romeo and Juliet" got for Shakespear...
plus Chrno Crusade isn't the only anime with tragic, dramatic deaths at the end... Cowboy bebop was a good example when Spike dies after he kills Vicious...
you just can't avoid it if the anime seems dark enough for it to be appropriate.

Umm no, it is most definitely not the most stupid ending I have ever seen. The worst was the ending of the Inuyasha anime series, and the anime Air.
I liked the Chrono Crusade ending, it was very bittersweet and it served as a very helpful reminder that evil can never really be completely gone. There will always be a constant battle between good and evil.
Yes, I will admit it was tough seeing Rose and Chrono die, but at least they went together which was super romantic!
Besides if they both lived... it would make the end of the show really cheap, kind of like the ending of My Hime, where all of a sudden everyone is alive again! (Bo!) The story needs to make sense and Chrono Crusade made a lot of sense.
