So here is my discussion topic.

If you could live anywhere in the world at any time in history...where would you be? What time period?

A short description on motivates your choice?

I'm enamored with several timelines:
1) 1066 (my family fought alongside William the Conquerer)
2) Mongols (I have Mongol in me, and they controlled the largest empire in the world)
3) Renaissance (got to love the art, architecture, and decadence)
4) Various periods of ancient China & Japan
5) I miss the early 1980s (1981 was THE YEAR! Anyone know why?)

Other than the 1980's, life expectancy was around 35, and you got to enjoy poverty, servitude, famine, disease, pestilence, bad food, bad water, etc. etc. And people smelled like hell.

I personally like technology and like this nifty invention called toilet paper. I like electronics. I like going to grocery shopping at Krogers during their 10-for-$10.00 sales. I like driving my Corvette. So, I like this time in history as its changing ever rapidly.

I'm kinda satisfied living at this time, at this place.

Because I think my life would have been a lot different if it were placed either in the far distant future, or in the not-so-forgotten past. I love the people I am with right now, and despite several issues the World is facing, like poverty and all that, I would still prefer to live today. Because this gives people a chance to show that they care if they really do. And the thing is, people who care can be a rarity on earth, in today's times.

Which is why when you do find them, such people, its more than a treasure. No material thing can replace that, not even relative tme or space.

And for that reason alone, I wouldn't trade it back for anything else. I won't give it back for the world.

Back to the Future!

1.- 1820-1830, during the Latin American's Wars of Independence. A mayor historical point that produced the collapse of the Spanish Empire and the rise of Republicanism in that part of the world.
2.- 1789 , during the French Revolution. Being part of the process that put together the ideas of "Liberty, Equality and Fraternity" would be great
3.- 1860 - 187, during the Meiji Revolution. Not only because of Rurouni Kenshin, but also because it marked the rise of Japan as a mayor industrial nation in the world.

I want to be in the Philippines during my parents' time [roughly around the late 60s to through the 70s]. Apparently, it was safer then. Kids didn't didn't deal drugs behind break shops, kids didn't become squaters, kids just hung out at the beach until the sun went down. People weren't killed back then, either. In all of my parents' old pictures, they look happy. They're smiling and they're always with a kajillion number of friends - so many that they can barely fit in the picture [and no retakes, kids - way before digital cameras].

I would love o life in the midevil ages. to become a night and fight all the time. o what a dream it would be. if i lived back in the medival agesmy life would be complete. fighting alonside other nights and kings and barbarieans. now thats a life. to become a great warrior or a king. thats when i would live. to control the roman empire.

Since I cannot live in the future... I guess that I would love to live in the present... or during the dot com boom ( $$$) I don't want to live in the past because there are alot of germs (of which are treatable now) that can kill you. Also... people in the past are a bit racists in race and social status... But if I would have to choose, I would live in the victorian era somewhere around venice.

The more research I do, the more I realize I should have been around during the Edo period of Japan.
Though outspoken women didn't do well during that timeframe, but it just fascinates me now.

So lets begin with it
~The dark ages,there are few manuscripts dating from that time (not to say allmost none)
~The time of the cuban revolution.Allongside the guerillas in the mountains,fighting for ones ideals
~The edo period...does it need and answer ^^ i dont think so.Maybe a weapon master of old.
~ The second world war.I would like to see what the atmosphere at that time was.Its one of the most disastrous events in our history.
~The time of the vikings...I want to be a bearded,ravager armed with an axe.
~The time of the crusades.Maybe as a knight/priest/or just a peasant
~The time of Jesus Christ.I want to find out the truth about this one :P
~The great exploration.As a seafarer to cross the seven seas and find new territories (maybe ill find the sea route to Japan...if it wasnt found allready by someone else...at that time)
~The gold rush and the "western" early history.As a lone gunman or outlaw...

I want to be in the time when the England still a kingdom. I mean it like there are so many infantries, cavalries, archers, etc. I want to be the general in there, because it looks so cool. Beside, I like the age when the sword is the main weapon, not the guns. The second place of time that I want to be is when the Japan is still separated to many dynasty and clan. I want to be a samurai, or a ninja. Both of them is great, because I love the samurai's pride of their life. ^^

I would choose japan back in the samurai times. The way of the samurai is just a relaxing and some what peaceful life style. Walking around with a sword by you all the time, makes you feel safe. Instead of today worried about getting shot or hit by a car. I rather get hit by a horse then a car, rather stabb wait actually nah i rather not get stabbed or slashed or any of that ill just stay home drink sake and relax,

1933 the rise of Hitler, i just want to stop the world war 2, because after the world war 2 their is a Cold war which is a confice between USA and USSR that mean destory the new super power of the world.
