Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Hmm i see your going for that mac simplistic feel (i see what you did there XD), you know i actually like where this is going those blue orbs are decent nice and crisp. the bg could have a bit more bite to it say a highlight and shadow to make it feel like real metal. the character should be more defined not just a blurred outline, i would actually prefer if it was a vector outline and just fill in the shadows with the pen tool it would then kick ass.

but what do you mean by defined? because the edges was the problem acording to other opinions, so i blurred it, and i personally think it is pretty good :P

but what you did in PS, add grey to the right? how :P?

should some kind of a lens flare make it more metallic??

and about what you thought about the simplistic feel, you got it, i love "beautiful emptiness"

Take a look at my 7up wallpaper on my userpage notice the character has a white ouline and the shadows of the image are filled in with orange, i just wanted a clean desktop wallpaper so i did that. what i think maybe you should try is make only an "outline" only of the character (mine is filled - the white base) and then fill in the shadows (orange parts) like i did but with a different color say a mac complementary color, but make it real detailed to make people like it. my character design took me like maybe 2 days to get right so at least its original.

oh btw watch for my new wall it should be out today hopefully

Yea i think doing a style like that would boost its main focal point cuz i see you were going for something similar. lol since my wall is taking so long just glance at my desktop screenshot, thats pretty much it.

Yeah i saw it and it is veeeeery nice ;), but about my picture, have you seen the "original", it's a few thing that is difficult to me :P where you put the orange, i can't find the places to do that on mine, and stupido me merged together the outline with the shadow :S

but if i take glowing edges?

and again ow did you do the grey to the right ?:P

Good start man, now all you need to do if your using the pen tool is to keep it smaller like maybe a 1pt line max and then the details but yea good stuff.

I didn't do it with the pen :G:P i went to filter gallery and looked around, then i used a few filters and POFF, there came a wall:P since i'm a newbie in PS and from Sweden, i donät always get what you mean :P sorry about that.

but if i just writes her name; "Haruka (something)" and puts something on the BG but behind her, wouldn't that make the wall finished

or is it " you still have a long way to gooo" xD :P

You kind have a ways to go to make it shine, cuz i thought you were using the pen tool on a very blurry setting. if you want post the actual image of haruka and show you what i mean. and you should REALLY use illustrator for vectors cuz its so much easier. the ones i gave you are for vectors not filtered or stock images.

here is the paper that i ave borrowed haruka from, i checked out illustrator today, and to be honest, I DIDN'T GET A THING XD haha, but again because i am so fast (not) what do i have to do to make it finished?, i'm talking about the FLCL wall :P
