Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Okay get this.... a few days ago I heard something in news that California had banned Harry Potter from at least one of their school districts. Saying that it promoted witchcraft and and stuff... the website that shows this articial is as follows:

http://www.eagleforum.org/educate/2002/may02/harrypotter.shtml

check it out and place your comments on this story here? I'd love to know what you all think of it... personally I think it's stupid... and that's that.

I like how some outrageous people tend to ban things of pure entertainment and literary bliss, for a reason that doesn't even exist in the real world. [/sarcasm] I think the whole ordeal of banning books is just ridiculous. For example, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a really good book by Mark Twain, offering insight on the conflicts of a sound heart and a deformed conscience, yet many areas have been wanting to ban the book because the use of some derogatory terms and poor spelling. I enjoy Harry Potter as a good, well-written fictional story -- it shouldn't be banned just because of what it deals with. It's all fictional anyway, and there for reading pleasure.

Wow...I can't believe that. Even though I'm not a big HP fan but it's still very surprising. 0.0

Being from California I remember when they were talking about this on the news all the time, I thought it was stupid then and still do. Then again schools like to ban random things. There is always an excuse.

I think banning HR is going too far, I'ver never read the books, but I've seen the movies, and I think it's that persons decision to do witch-craft or not. If they want to be a wizard, sure just let them be one.

but hey this is a little off the topic, but teenagers in Japan are killing preschoolers and innocent people and the police or whoever did the research says that it was the influence of watching too much anime!! I think that's bull***t!! I hope it doesn't reach the point where they ban anime!!

Ya im not too much of a harry potter fan....but i do like the movies....and i do like how dark the movies are getting....im not too big on banning books....i mean just because it deals with witchcraft doesnt mean that kids will go out and try to get into occults and crap.....all i think it'll do is make kids want to dress up as witches/wizard for halloween more.....lol....

I think htats bogs becase the article focuses only on the black magiv and witchcraft, not the love or the life lessons, which i think is soo mean and lame of them ...
I also heard that in Meico they have burnt many of the harry potter books.

Why bother? It's a weak fad that'll die out soon after Rowling stops taking long breaks from being "overworked"

Lol wow i mean some stuff that happens in America is just ridiculous... I mean its a FICTIONAL BOOK!! what about all the other books that promote magic, that promotes super natural powers, that promote all kinds of stuff that is not real... I mean ITS FICTION! why can't they just understand that and get over it? O_o why do they make huge deal out of something just because its popular they have to find some way to make it sound bad so they can ban it? I really think this is a laughable manner... they should read these articles themselves and understand how stupid they are making themselves look -_- I hope they realize that soon because its going a bit too far I believe... -_-

btw HARRY POTTER rules hahah the books and the movies are great but the books and the movies never made me want to practice witchcraft or blk magic -_-...

Heck, why ban something that is bringing culture and entertainment to your place? I never get them.

Its not very suprising to see a school trying to ban harry potter...
...wasn't there a case where a school tried to ban POKEMON??

Its just the principals way of trying to control something that he/she can't by saying "don't bring harry potter stuff to school"

sorta like dictatorship

Did anyone else notice that the link is from 2002?
I think that people are entitled to their own opinion, and even without Harry Potter, there are plenty of other sources out there that will expose them to witchcraft and such.

Anyway, Harry Potter isn't the only series out there that promotes witchcraft and such. Are they going to want to ban every other thing out there that has something to do with witchcraft? Is this only because HP is popular? I think it's silly to want to ban HP.

They're also overlooking the positive things that HP potrays. What about the strong friendship that Harry, Hermoine and Ron share? The courage, loyalty and bravery they display as well as growing up and overcoming your fears?
