Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Some scientists from Malaysia have discovered a new bird species. ~Slim Sreedharan is one of them~
The new species is calle Kamlae...and here's how it looks:

I think it is quite interesting in and of itself, but its impact outside of the scientistic community will be minimal. Researchers are always discovering new creatures. The world is quite large enough for new snakes, birds, and rodents. If they come up with a new kind of bear or something then it will really mean that researches have been asleep at the wheel. Generally as far as impact on our daily lives goes, it is plantlife and sealife that provides new medicines and chemicals which improve our daily lives.

However, that is one cool looking bird.

Hrmm...interesting...Judging from the fact that most of the newly discovered living creatures are either insects, or deep in the ocean or Microscopic. There are two birds in the picture, does the smaller one grow up to have that cool feather as the bigger one o_O ?...

Many people still don't know there are actually two kinds of birds that have poisonous feathers. What I mean is scientifically every discovery can help understand our world, but it won't change it. Many insects are still to be discovered, many will never be discovered, same with marine animals and such. We'll still be cutting enough trees to make some birds die before we even discover them. So to speak.
I just hope those birds will be officially protected by the law or something.
I want more information on how, when, etc.

Is it edible? Well, rare bird should taste 'rare' too, right?
Sorry cute-anime-girl, I know you don't like to eat birds. :(

Btw, are they sure it's a new species, not some mutated freak?

It's really amazing that something like a species of bird has gone undiscovered for this long. Like akiraxn said, most newly discovered species are really small or really hard to get to. It looks cool though ^-^

o-O whoa. that's one weird looking bird. How come they didn't relize it was there before? mhm...they were probably too busy calling in the bomb squad to notice I bet you >_>. But when ever something new is found the world goes crazy and you never stop hearing about it...makes me mad sometimes. Then the new gets old and no one cares anymore. =/
I think that's odd as well.

Woowzers, that is one cool looking bird.
If new species are being created all the time without us even knowing it, that sure would suck :(... I'm not saying I'm an animal lover, its just that I hate it when animals become extinct..makes me sad to think that I'd never see that certain creature ever. But for environmental and other types of ways new species can make the world a better place, I hope this one does just that. I say keep those new species coming. As long as they're not man eating animals I'm happy :S
