Mushishi
I'm really surprised there isn't an active topic on this series already...
mushishi is unlike any other anime i've seen..all of its art has a watercolor touch which reminds me of honey and clover..partly the reason i like this anime so much.
each of its episodes has a moral and a thought to keep you thinking till weeks later.
anyone else heard of it?

Mushishi is a really good series and probably one of the most underrated ones.
I've watched the first eight episodes of the series. I doubt it will ever be very succesfull since the plot is slow and its a series without much action. Having said that, I do think that this is still a positive thing: We already have many actionfilled series out there.
I enjoy the art and music.
Recomended to all that can enjoy the slower stuff out there.

I like series with special art and don't care about action that much, So I think I'll give this series a try.
It's a really nice anime. I watched 20 episodes to now and it never got boring. It tells great stories, especially the one about Ginko becoming/getting the name Ginko was interesting.

Mushishi relaxed my mind and body when I was seeing it . The deferent bewteen Mushishi and other animes is obvious .
There are no blood ,no war in Mushishi world . Just natural balance between human and Mushi exist. Peacel hold on the world .
Third-eye view the world that Mushishi teachs us .

It's a very pretty anime, I have to agree. Some people may not like it because yeah, it is really slow, but I personally love animes like that (ARIA comes to mind :D ). Some scenes are so breathtaking too ... and the stories about all the mushis are so interesting, like a course on mythology.
Deffinitely the style in mushishi is one of kind. Instead of making an anime of violence like countless others, they made an anime that deals with the mythological beliefs of the old days in japan. It is truly an enteresting anime at that. It needs no violence to keep you "hooked" to it. All it uses is knowledge of the things that are not much known. Trully an excellent name for the anime industry, and I hope people get inspired to make animes of this type more frequently.

I really like the art style, music and scenery of this anime. It feels very "unsolved mysteries", anime style.
I watched 20 episodes and between them were good ones and bad ones, but altogether this is a very beautiful and interesting anime. But it is typically a "mood-anime", if you have the mood to watch it, you'll like it, if not, you won't.
The story is pretty slow, but it's very original and unique. I've never heard of or seen another anime with the same premise. The animation is interesting... At first I hated it, but after I got used to it, it was ok. I really need to catch up to the subs, though. I think I'm 7 or 8 episodes behind.
One of the truly brilliantly written series in recent times. This series will not appeal to the mainstream public, but for the select few who know how to appreciate this, what an excellent series this is! Superb charactization, extremely well thought-out episodes, and a unique and almost serene ambience make Mushishi a triumph in artistic brilliance.
I do like mushishi really nice and relaxing althought i have found the stoires getting a little repaetaive but its still good so i don't mind too much.
althought one thing puzzels me. Ginko is in old japan (i have no idea of the era) but he seems to wear modern stuff like what look like jeans and a shirt were as eveyone else wears the period clothing......werid? no.

One of the reasons I first got into anime was because the series evolved plot lines and character development over the course of one of more seasons, and thus was considerably more engrossing and complex than anything western animation, with its reliance on one-shot episodes, could accomplish. This being the case, I didn't think I'd ever really get into any Japanese one-shot stories. But Mushishi proved my preconceptions wrong.
This is a great series for those who place characterization over action, and quality artwork over fanservice. Not everyone will like this series as it sometimes come across as overly intellectual - the pathology, ecology and interaction of Mushi with the human world is extensively developed and explained and can be overwhelming at times - and in general it isn't a lighthearted or warm fuzzy feeling anime, in fact it's often tragic. Although the stories are never melodramatic, they are always fresh, innovative and memorable. And the soundtrack, artwork and depictions of the countryside are to die for.

I've watch the first episode of this anime .. it seems mysterious , I like it but not very much .. I prefer the funny one... but I will watch every single one of this anime. The art is nice.
I think it's interesting.. very different and original. some of the mushishis are kind of weird but i really like the character designs.
