Laptops or desktops?

Recently I've gotten a notebook, it's really comfort and nice, the wireless thing it's the best, besides the space that uses it's nothing compare to a desktop, but the with last one you can get better things at a lower price, so if you really need a laptop get one, but if you only wanna a pc the desltop it's the perfect choice.
Only the purpose matters...

Desktop, definately. It's faster and cheaper. I rarely ever have a need for a computer outside of my room anyway.
Both ^_^
I'm travel quite alot so, laptops are useful, desktops are more comfortable, but both essencial in my (NO) life.

I prefer desktop simply because of the power it has, I play computer games and a lot of them can't really be played on a laptop........unless you have moneh to lay down for a really nice one. But laptops are useful in the fact they are portable, and it's always nice to have your music or whatever with you
Laptops!! cuz they are complact and they save you when you forgot your homework. well.. they have saved me, and you can be wherever you feel more comfortable, when my sisters are fighing in a room, i just take the computer and leave to a quiter place. right now i have a destkop ;_;...that is the only bad thing of laptops, they are so easy to steal ><, and i borrow my sis's laptop when i have a proyect at college or something..they are so usefull, but my sister is so selfish that doesn't want to borrow me it everyday.
xxsodapopxx5for me i would prefer a desktop, but right now i am typing on a laptop... i am used to typing on both, but i play video games and that almost requires a desktop... i also dont have enough money for an exspensive laptop that is really good... mine is only like 1200 dollars, for one that i could play games decently it would cost me almost 2500 dollars(american)... i also like having a mouse and keyboard.
so which do you prefer?
I'm planning to get a laptop next year because it's getting tougher to take notes in class. Typing is much faster than writing for me and I can record videos and audios from my lecture. Right now though, I prefer a desktop coze you don't have to worry about recharging, it's more fun upgrading it, you can play games on it. The way I see it is desktops have more flexibility in what it can do, but laptops are much better to carry around and use when you really have to.
I prefer Laptops. Infact, im waiting to get one. I like laptops better because it is easy to carry around, and for a college student like me, i think its really handy to have a laptop around for doing researches on assignments and projects, and have it all stored in a small computer that i can bring around anywhere. Its also great that i can use it in cafes and other places with wifi.So that i can get connected anytime, anywhere.Although it is a lot more expensive compared to desktops, i still think its worth it. ^^
I use to prefer PC's because they handled games better...but now that I'm not much into games...I have becoming increasingly interested in the notebooks...they are portable...easy to use...and satisfy what I need...so yeah...but since I have been becoming increasingly interested in Photoshop and Illustrator, I have been considering purchasing a PC that could process the information better ^_^
Laptops as a general preference as you can transport them easily but I prefer desktops for playing games as they them to handle that bit better
Desktops... Laptops have too much customized hardware that only the manufacture can updates drivers for. My 4 year old laptop is crippled by Service Pack 2, but I need it to ensure that "malicious code" doesn't ruin my machine. Laptops fit certain personalities like people who love to care them around and work while they have the time. Desktops can't be taken on the go and they don't have a built in UPS to protect them from power surges. However, Desktops are more powerful than laptops and they can play videogrames. You can't upgrade a laptop espeically when it comes to the videocard. What you see is what you get. Desktops have the ability to run differenet Operating Sytems in a more stable way. Linux can handle laptops, but there is a lot of missing pieces when it comes to managing a laptop's proprietary settings. Laptops do have their purposes for the people in the business world, but desktops are great if you plan on sitting in one spot while you do your thing.

Desktops definitely ... laptops can never be as powerful and for the same amt of $$, I'll rather splurge on a betetr performance desktop!!

I prefer desktop over laptop, more things you can do with a desktop then a laptop.
