Most Useless Anime Characters
And why does everyone hate Shinji, i mean i agree hes a whiny crybaby. but he has his charms. Hes quite similar to Kira Yamato (Yes Shinji is worse i know) and everyone seems to like Kira. Cagalli even says he cryes too much. Then again shinji is very mentaly unstable but that was kinda the result of Gainax running out of money so they made more "Lets look at the Train and water of everyones thoughts then loop some squigally lines for a whone episode so we only have to pay for vocals not animation" good thing it acrtually worked in this series. not like Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou the episodes with non moving animation and real photos with some RANDOM narrator GAH somebody invest in GAINAX PLEASE!

Hm I think the most uselsess character is Sakura from Tsubasa Chronicle although she serves as part of a goal to the story. She hardly does anything besides smiling and showing worrying faces and feelings for the main character.

Oh yeah, the rest of the family on Ashteruze Baby ( the grandparents, dad, mom ).

The creator of the topic was talking about uselessness in terms of plot, not fighting. Even if it was fighting, Shinji was a wussy in less than half the series. However, he was no way useless in terms of plot, as the entire story revolves around him and how he finally became less emo in the end.

I will agree with you on Sakura being useless , but Ten Ten is even more useless .
Gezz.....I think Miaka from Fushgi Yuggi is the most useless and dumbess character I ever know! Huh...Only care about her and Tamahome Xp...And if there is already someone hurt because her...She only can cry and blaming herself....STUPID!...Ummm...what else...I think i already plan to writelots but now I am forget everything >.<... O..yeaaa...Annoying girl like her...Somehow everyone likes her...yeaa..I think because it just a story...I am not sure the situation where there are some guys like Tamahome and Hottohori like a girl like Miaka will become reality in this world...To the point...I think no one will be like girl like Miaka...she is so annoying...Sometimes want to do something but finally she only can make other people hurt....Cannot believe there is a stupid and annoying girl like her Xp

Useless?Almost all the girls...specially shojo girls...always clingy and cry-babies...they give me the creeps
Either Haruno Sakura (Naruto) or Chibi-Usa (Sailor Moon). The former exists simply to exist, the latter exists merely to annoy me *ducks*.

Hmm...when I first read this thread, the person that jumps straight in my head is Haruno Sakura. I used to think that even though she looks as useless as she is, but maybe she have some super cool awesome hidden power up her sleeve that she only uses when she's mad...She can't even convince Sasuke to stay...hmpph...

SHINJI, hes the most pathetic main i have ever seen in my whole life. No other anime character pisses me off more than him. I also think that he may have been the first main to have started the "wimpy main character" theme that goes on nowadays... i hate Shinji... pathetic...
