American Patriotism
Via an anime discussion on unnamed airsoft forums, a user has displayed his discontent with anime. His reason? Because it's not American. I retort saying that he's taking patriotism too seriously, and then some other bozo comes in and asks me if I 'condone the attack on Pearl Harbor", assuming that I'm a Japanese imperialist because of my signature and avatar.
I personally want to kill all Americans that believe that America is a high and might nation, who through the will of "God" can do whatever the hell we please with other countries. Just because we were attacked at Pearl Harbor doesn't mean we can treat Asians like shit. I hate Americans who only buy American products, are ignorant of other cultures, look down on other nationalities, and if anyone buys non-American products, or displays any interest in something not American, i.e. anime, they label us "un-American".
I swear, American patriotic fanatics, "public correctness", the Liberals, and the Liberal Media are going to drive this country straight into the fiery depths of Hell!

I guess, some Americans (not all) are racist. That just really gets me PO'd that people can be SoOO stupid.
Something to add to my preliminary post:
Don't get me wrong, I love my country and I love its military, but the attitudes of the American government and American people are just horrible. What gives us the right to demand other countries dismantle nuclear weapons, while we keep our own? What gave us the right to impose anything on the Japanese people? What gave us the right to kill off thousands of American Indians for the sake of "divine right" to claim North America? Nothing gives us that right.

Some pathetic people need something to believe in and since they are probably racist and other ist's then shoving american patriotism in other people's faces is also what they do. They are just as screwed up about other things I am sure. It is funny because unless these people are native american and can trace their heritage all the way back to this country then how can they possibly boycott anything "un-american", they would have to boycot themselves. Some people just bitch about anything and if it is my nation is better than yours then that is what they do. As an american though I view these people as sad and pathetic no mattter what they are on their soap box against that day.

That sort of patriotism where you only buy things or do things that's American is kind of...extreme. I mean, I have patriotism for America, but not to that extent. That much pride in your country reminds me of World War 2, and that didn't turn out too well. It really bugs me though that people feel that way...it's one of the things I hate. Not enough to kill though, that would lead to bad things.
The first thing in your second post I agree with; the second one, what did we do? And for that third thing, are you an American? Because you seem to find a lot of faults with our country and not in others. Like how Cortes just went to the Aztecs in South America, let them think he was a god, and took over. Or how Pizarro kidnapped the Incan leader, let the Incan leader pay him gold and silver for his release, and Pizarro took the metals and killed the leader anyway. Or how the Mongols created an empire through bloodshed. Or how a whole bunch of other countries in the eastern hemisphere took over a lot of other countries through war.

A bit of love for your home land is all well and good but some amaricans do take it a tad far. thinking their the best thing since er......america. watched a program with some rather large texan saying how texans are better than other people. never wanted to puch someone more in my life.
But saying this the americans i have met in my travels have been all rather nice people. its just the exstrem end of it is always the bit shown. so you always see the one amarican with his shotgun and his beer bleeting on about how great he and his country is.

I also know about those other things, it's just that I prefer to rant about something that I have personal experience with. And yes, I am American. Part Irish and part Cherokee from my mother's side of the family.
the second one, what did we do?
Can you be a bit more specific? lol
Well those who only buy American made products must be trying extremly hard and spent a lot more money then those who don't. Reason; more then half of things in America are imported from other countries. It is very very stupid not to buy or not like non American made products, including Animes. I see a few commertials on TV that if there product is made in USA, they will say it a few times in the commertial, hoping it will get them more sales. However..... some things that are not made in America I mutch rather not buy, because out there a LOT of things are either cheap copies, or just straight up sh*t. Like golf clubs/ or just the shaft from China are fake copies of the actual product and will brake after a few shots. Also, software is always illigaly copied over in other countries, and etc...
As for what America is doing about Iran's Nuclear projects, I think is wrong and right. The wrong is that they want the uranium completly out of there and never used. They basicly say they won't let them have a nuclear power plant. But the right is that they are making sure Iran does not use it for weapons of mass destruction. Such things have an extreamly high chance of starting WW3, every nation is afraid of it and the Midle East so far is the only place that can start one.

I am patriotic but not to that extreme. I believe that people do all the crazy things like buy only american so that they dont feel useles to the country. Those who do such things are probably older and still in the WW2 mode of thinking. They act so patriotic because they feel guilty for not doing anything active for the country. Most likely veterans who have a fearce protectiveness for the homeland their friends died for. It dosent bother me that they scorn non-american things. It is completely their choice and isn't hurting anybody. Only when they do cross the line to abuse verbal or physical do I have a problem with it. Anyway most anime is ment for Americans. You may not have notest but almost all animes hove mostly American looking people in it. No characters really look Japanese and most of the time its American culture that is adopted. Im not saying all the time but you have to admit that most of the girls are blond or have light brown hair or something. And though the eyes dont really resemble any race on the planet their definetly far from Japanese. I do think that America should keep their hands off of Irans nuclear jumbo until it is evident their will be violence unless dissarmed. And not Bush's "Weapons of mass destruction" excuse but hard evidence.

I still think that the WMD's in Iraq issue is the CIA's fault for misinformation, and not Bush's. . . after all, he's just the guy that reads the intelligence, not the one who gathers it. But whatever.

Ya I know its not really Bush's fault but hes just so easy to blame I meen look at him reallly c'mon. nevermind its a paranoia thing
Hehe, parnoid schizophrenic.
Any leader is easy to blame, really.
One thing that annoys me about the American military. The rifles we use (M16 variants) are inferior to European counterparts, namely the AUG and G36. And why did we choose an inferior weapon? Because it's an American rifle!. The M16 jams alot, while the G36 has a special gas system that prevents the weapon from fouling, and therefore jamming. The AUG has been run over by a two ton truck and still worked--and it's 75% polymer!. You run over an M16 with a two ton truck and it's become scrap. Thank god they're finally coming to their senses and looking into H&K .45 pistols, the FN SCAR, and the H&K416, which is a vast improvement over the M4/M16 series

All Americans want to be GI Joes, thats why even in real life they use the same weapons as them XD
The US has been a major world power for about... 150 years or so (not a country, major world power), and thats something the citizens of the US have gotten used to. We think we're safe from harm, that nothing bad can happen to us, we'll never be a poor country, we'll never have a war on american soil... None of this has happened because of the US being such a giant power...But its same to assume now this isn't going to last forever.
The US (and I guess you could put Russia into the mix too) isnt the only major nation with nuclear weapons and a powerful military anymore. Its taken years and years for the people of this country to figure out that there are lots of other countries and cultures that want nothing more then to see the US go up in a big mushroom cloud and ever y last American burn to the ground. As weapons technologies evolve, the risk of attacks on the US and a war on our soil gets higher and higher and higher. Its only a matter of time before all hell breaks looks and we're all thrown into another nasty world war.
I still strongly stick with an opinion I heard on the radio regarding shutting down the US nuclear weapon program: "Its important to keep making nuclear weapons so we never have to use them". The best defense is a good offense.
Anyway, yes I think people are still stuck in the WWII era patriotism way of thinking... The only time I shunned a non-American product was the Bazooka gum that was imported from Isreal... the comics were in arabic and the gum tasted awful =P. Otherwise whats so bad with imports. The majority of things we own are imported from other nations.
