Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

One Piece - The premiere shounen anime in Japan for the past 7 years. 250+ episodes and about a dozen arcs into the series, One Piece still captivates and entices me with a story that is only just starting to gain real momentum. If anything, these past 80 hours of One Piece has just served to wet my appetite. Instead of running out of ideas, as many other anime do after hundreds of episodes, One Piece is instead picking up the pace and each arc surpasses the previous.

One Piece is rather interesting, but i couldnt find my self to wondering and feeling a litte bit uneasy about ruthy shouting out the names he gave for his moves each time again and again... its a little bit childish Oo

It's Luffy btw. If you don't like it, then that's too bad. Plus calling out the names of the techniques is a trademark of shounen anime. Kenshin always shouts out the names of his techniques before he attacks, as does Goku in DBZ, Gon in HxH, Naruto, Ichigo in Bleach, and pretty much every other shounen anime series.

Sorry for the "wrong" name, i watched it a year ago the last time, and on german... in germany they appeareantly named him Ruffy... sounds cooler anyway...
Well, i think as long as the techniques are kind of cool and the names are good either, its still ok and can be even cool if they call them out before... but "Ruffys" techniques are just lol... they are kind of effective, but you cant really consider them as real techniques, there just some freestyle he thought out on his own... and shouting the self invented names of his self invented, effective but kind of plumb techniques makes it kind of uncool and childish... thats my opinion, if you still like it go on... by the way how old are u? maybe you like it because it perfectly fits your age... :P

That's the point of OP. It's whacky and it's comedic. That's why it's so popular in Japan. That's the kind of slapstick comedy that Japanese audience loves. And no, it's not a children series in Japan. It airs on primetime TV on Sunday nights. And the largest demographic for the show is 18-25. You may think it's childish in your country, but clearly it's not in Japan.

i think it's the crappy english dubbing that makes it childish. my friend showed me an american version of it and i was like what the @#$ did they do to the series. leave it to the americans to always mess things up. one piece is definitely not a children show. all my friends at college love it. i know some things may appear childish, but that's part of the comedy of one piece, and that's what's make it so great. i have to admit that at first i thought it was childish too, but once my friends convinced me to keep watching i began to realize what a great series it is. i like it a lot better than naruto and bleach.

Well, i think which series you really like the most is mostly influenced by your personal feelings... i just find myself liking Bleach the most till today because i think Ichigo is the coolest Charackter who was invented so far and i can pretty easy symphatisize with him... and i like this kind of fights, with the power in u, chakra, spirit power or how ever you may call it, simply the most... this fruits and the abbilitys that comes with them in One piece are rather interesting, i have to admit that, but how ever, i prefer the chakra/spirtual power fights and furthermore its kind off strange that i didnt even once saw an ability the fruits grants twice... sure maybe theyre rare but there have to be more then just one from each kind... its kind off strange... furthermore i dont watch any animes except the ones with japanese language anymore, and maybe i would found my self liking One Piece a litte bit more if i would review it on japanese again, but since i know the art of fighting yet, im pretty sure the anime wont have a place in my top 10...

you sure you paid attention to the series? it was explained early on already that no 2 devil fruits are the same. each devil fruit gives a different ability. that's the whole premise of the show. plus why would you want to see the same abilities? would bleach be interesting if eveyrone has the same zanpakutou and the same bankai?

Genshiken - love this silly little comedy about the world of otakus

Ranma 1/2 - another comedy that I grew up watching. it's really too bad the anime never finished covering the entire manga

One Piece - another great series that I just love. the comedy, the story, the characters. everything about this series is unique and different from the rest. plus i just love the way Oda-sensei is weaving the story.

Planetes - an amazing series that takes a realistic look at space exploration. no aliens, no mechas, just straight up realism. it's rare to find this kind of series nowadays.
