Hate Cigarettes
Just wondering if smoking should never have been made possible. It harms your health and everyone around you. My neighbour smokes out of his window, and the wind simply blows it all into my home, leaving me coughing. Some youngsters smoke and act like their so cool. It makes me sick just thinking what their doing to their body. The best part is they don't care, and neither do they carea bout the people around them who have to endure their smoke.
I'd say cigarettes should be buried into the earth and never taken out again. I'll bet by now i've taken in so much passive smoke i'd die from cancer no sooner than 10 years if it carries on...

Yeah...i really hate it really.I mean sometimes someone just come close to you and they smoke..the smell...awful.x_X i really really despise the smell a lot and i would never try smoking even if my friend offered me though...well if they do that id take it and probly throw it on the ground ^-^.
Smoking is quite a controversial subject. People think they have a right to smoke, because after all, it's their money, it's their health, it's their choice. They think they have the freedom of choice to decide what to do with their bodies, and so feel that there's nothing wrong with them smoking. However it's been scientifically proven that second-hand smoke does cause cancer, and I don't think they have a right to subject others to their own poison. When you think about it, smoking, being addictive, doesn't actually give smokers a choice, does it? I mean sure, it was their choice to pick it up in the first place (more often than not), and many feel that they can quit whenever they want to, but despite that thought being naive, you'll be surprised how many smokers actually feel that way despite being told by doctors, health professionals and the like that that's not the case. You need a lot of willpower to quit smoking. And that comes with a price.
I would advocate the banning of all recreational drugs. They harm your health. They warp your reality. They deceive you. They bind you in their deceptively welcoming chains and you have to pay a heavy price to be set free. But a lot of it is politics and economics. Governments earn a lot from imposing tarrifs on cigarettes. In my country (Singapore), the price of cigarettes have risen 375% since 1993 (ooo, facts and figures!). That's... quite a lot I think. It's primarily to deter people from smoking, but seriously, if someone's addicted, do you think price will keep them away? No! They'll continue paying the high prices, and when they have no money, they'll look for it someplace else... (in your wallet, perhaps).
Gah. Smoking causes so many problems. However one good thing is that many countries have already started banning it in public areas and pubs and restaurants and the like. At least in these places non-smokers can seek refuge away from toxic cigarette smoke. X.x;
Oh, has anyone ever been to Japan? It's a chain-smoking country, dude. Everywhere you go, people are puffing in your face. >.<

"SIR! PUT THAT GOD-DAMN CIGARETTE AWAY. THIS IS EVERYBODY'S AIR!"
lol, i don't smoke. and i really don't like people smoking around me. and don't like people who reek of the stench of cigarettes. if someone that smells of cigarette is near me, i usually say out loud that it stinks along with obsceneties. it's good that no one in my family smokes.

Blows smoke to your face, jk I really dont mind people who dont like smoking but I do, it helps me relax and I like the tatse (trash me if you want but I wont give a dam)

I do smoke ocasionnaly but am going to quit it, it started off as fun when out with friends and then I actually bought my own packet three days ago and thought damn this is the end I basically threw it away after one smoke and have to quit it coz it's already become addictive so I can say people who have been smoking for years and are so naive as to say I can quit whenever I like have never tried quitting.
It seriouly is addictive and a health hazard I have started training again after two years of loafing and man my lunges have definatley deteriorated in the year of casually smoking and hanging out with chain smokers.
In our country cigarettes have gone up substantially in the past four years not enough though. The law states that all the restaurants should have a seperate smoking area which is closed off so the non-smokers can enjoy themselves without the smoke making them sick. You're not allowed to smoke inside any public building either.
Yeah out of experience I can say ban smoking to the pits of the earth where they belong.

Yeah smoking is really bad for you but if you smoke well I do I run alot to kinda clean my lungs a bit, here where I live you can almost smoke everywhere and cigarettes are cheap like 1 dollar and 75 cents.
I don't know how people get addicted in the first place. I took a drag from one once and its horrid.
I don't really care if people do it for not, its when you have to breath in their smoke it irritates me. My next door neighbours smoke all the time and because they leave their doors oppen it filters in. Even worse they smoke around their baby which can not be doing him any good.
I have breathing trouble and it makes evenings out hell. But when the public smoking ban comes into play next year I'll be happier...many won't be.

I don't mind people who smoke, but don't come close to me while you are smoking because I don't like the smell and it gives me a headache. Even I don't know why people smoke because I think there are many other ways to thorw out their stress, but I don't want to disturb them because they might have their own reason and it's their money and their health as long as they don't blow the smoke to me. In my country, I have seen many pictures on the ciggarettes that warn about your heath, but I still don't know that it works or not because people still buy them or they might not afraid of it.
I think that's the problem with smoking. Cigarettes are so easy to get, which means you could smoke like 40 a day and not really put a dent in your wallet as much as other things, so you just don't find any reason to quit. I, being 15, know people my age who have started smoking. They say they're going to quit, but they don't seem to try. Luckily, I catch public transport and smoking is banned around that area. People smoke just outside the area, but seriously, when I was in Year 7 (2 years ago), I was constantly passively smoking when I was waiting for a train to arrve. I think it's sick. But that's my opinion and I know other people think it's nice and stuff and I can't change their opion but still, imagine a world without smoke...

Lol I agree, I wonder what gives the right for smokers to go poluting my air, getting smoke in my lungs, with that ill smell, and then they say they have the right to do so ... so what? I think I have the right to keep a healthy life and mind you, one without a smell that sticks to my hair if I stay too long at a room with them ><;
At the building I work they just passed a rule that it's forbidden to smoke inside, I'm so happy ^_^ I used to go to my office using the stairs to get some exercise done (6 floors) and sometimes I found a group smoking by the 5th~6th ... picture this, you came walking from home 15 minutes, then you go up by stairs 5 floor, you are obviously breathing heaving, and bang ... smoke everywhere and you HAVE to breath that or just faint ... I hated it.

I leave in Malaysia and smoking has become an activity where people think they are cool if they smoke (especially teenagers that are studying in colleges). There are some that say smoking helps them release stress from studying (probably medically and scientifically not proven). And it is spreading into a very bad habit, and a matter of fact is that the Government here has increased the price drastically to curb the problem but it is not helping at all. The age group of smokers is inherently growing younger and younger by the year. It is however ironic how people can think it is cool and even knowing that smoking doesn't help the health as well...

Well, if you guys took the time to look at the ads about smoking, you would realize that they want to put the image of looking cool by smoking! LOL! I don't smoke, but my father does and a few friend does as well. Yea the smell really does kill the mood when you're around your friends. But smoking isn't all that bad, it shows us who is willing to give their life up for something they love! KIDDING! Oh yeah the reason why people get addicted isn't because of the smell...but the taste and some other sweet things that crawls around in the cigar bud!!
