Whay are we alive? We live in a world with poverty, war, disease, hatred, and much much more. This world, in my eyes, is a horrible place to live in. What's stopping us from just jumping off a bridge, or jumping off a building, or anything else that can kill us. What is stopping us? I'm not saying that you or I should kill ourself, I'm justing saying what is stopping us from killing ourself? There are two things that are stopping me. These two are anime and the thought of people being sad because I'm gone.

So I ask you two questions, Do you think this world is a horrible place to live in, why or why not? Also, what is stopping you from killing yourself?

Remember, I'm not saying we should kill ourself.

This world is currupt and evil, however it is not a horrible place to live in. Bad things happen, good things happen. We should not take our lives for granted, after all it is the only one we've got in this world. As for not killing myself. God has given me life, and he will decide when to end it not me.

You can spent your whole life trying to answer that but you'll never find the right word for that and when you look back-- there's no special reason or meaning in living-- it's just as simple as "to live and live to the fullest as much as possible everyday"

the world has a problem of it's own and so as all of us do-- and everyday there are choices being made which compliments either good or evil. the whole picture is life and we are in that same picture.

just try to make it simple-- no hidden meaning or deeper answer-- it is as far as you can see

To me this world is almost always balanced in every aspect eventhough the other side may overweight sometime but is too boring for me. As for ahy am i still alive right now thats because i havent got a reason to die for + i haven't get to my goal in life.

This place can be hell or heaven, but it's all about balance. If you're in hell find heaven, and if killing yourself is heaven go for it, but think about how many people you will drop into the pits of hell xP

Even if it's not balanced right now, it will over time. I mean, if you chose an idiot to be a president people need to become aware that you need to vote for the best one and not the one with the looks. They just needed someone to confirm the covernment is important.

So yeah, every bad thing has a good thing. It shows what you DON'T want :)

That is one of those questions that can´t be answered, "why are we here?" you can ask yourself that over and over again without geating any wiser. The fact I think that we countinue to live on eventhough the world isn´t "perfect" (something it can impossible ever become) is because we have a survive instinct that always tries to stop us from dieing. Of course this instinct can´t always help us I mean there is people comiting suicide all the time. But I still think that the instinct is there to tell us not to do it, at the same time as it tells us to eat and drink to live.

Sure the world have many bad things like war, hatred, poverty, disease and things like that but there is still many good things in the world so there is no reason to not keep on living because some things with the world isn´t perfect.

You are here because you are. And because of your every breath, because there is air in your lungs. Because you breathe, you walk and you live. Because your heart beats, for you and for someone or something else aswell :)

Your existence has not come of choice, atleast not of your own choice. But your parents' choice.

But you always have the choice to change that fact and take control of your existence or rather... your non-existence.

It is quite true, the world is mostly how you describe of it. But then again, it's not really your world, now, is it? I mean, for the people who are suffering, they mostly have little will to survive or fight for it. We all need a reason to do something. There always is a reason for everything. And so for this aswell.

The primary reason for not jumping off a cliff so easily is mostly accounted to fear. The Fear. The fear of losing. Losing something that holds much importance and value to you. Like you said, anime and the people that you care for who care for you. (Which i sure hope includes me! Because you freakin almost always behave like the wind! You come and then go away so soon! And then say that you'll be going for a longer period of time!! WTH?!?!?!?! )

Everyone has their own world which they live in. Their own lives. Not all are same. It is only when a human comes into a state of mind that he/she finds to have no future. Or feels that all is lost. Or something like that, then the person will think that there is no reason for him/her to live and will commit suicide. People do commit suicide, you know.

But till the time the flicker of hope is there, the human will never give it up. That is one of the 'traits' or maybe a good quality of a human. He/She never gives up until the very last moment. (Talking in regards to the existence of that human, btw.. >_>)

So, even though there maybe hatred and despair around you, you must still live and cherish what you have and what you love. Because the world also loves you! :)

It's us, humanbeings who make this world such a bad place. Not all of us of course, but i still hate who doesn't care about it. At the beginning everything was in perfect harmony. Men's greed damaged the balance of the nature. Men has forgotten the rationality. Most of them had gone blind.
Well, this didn't come out as i wanted it, it seems unrelated to the subject, so i'll make it short.
I'm here because my maker made me this way. And i shall not kill myself, because i believe that the life is still worth to live. The thought of being punished for suicide, i mean divine punishment, may be the reason why i shall keep on living, even though i don't want to live in such a bad world, where everyone has gone mad.

Why we live? because several billion years ago a coincidental trail of events created the first living organisms, which have evolved to being the Flora and Fauna of today's world..
and humans are one of those species..

as for the reason that you can't simply jump off a bridge, the human, and any other ogranism's instinct is set to 'survival', and will thus not try to harm itself. o/c there are exceptions, like masochists..

For our offspring. War and crap like that are made by us humans.

What stops us? Well, because we have things that we hold dear to, or people that love you. That is why we don't commit suicide. Of course, there's also religion, 'cause some religion says that suicide's a sin and it will lead you a one-way ticket to Hell, so they are afraid to kill themselves. There's also the human instinctive nature of self-preservation, the need to maintain one's survival. Lastly, there's the fear of death. People don't dare to kill themselves. I think I have a simple reason why we're here. To put it bluntly, spread forth and multiply to ensure the survival of our species. That's the meaning of life... well, in the biological standpoint.

This world is a horrible place to live in if you focus mainly on the negative aspects of life. If you only look at war, death, bloodshed, destruction of the environment, injustice, the shameless and infuriating things humans have done (a.k.a those mentioned above). However, there are good things in life. I think I've droned on enough, so I'll stop here.

We exist for the people we love and those who love us because not all the things in this world are bad. Sometimes, we need to see the positive things in life even when we feel like heaven and earth is making us suffer. We must remember that life is not a bed of roses. Good and bad things happen, that's normal. If you want to jump of a bridge and kill yourself now, do it. You'll die as a selfish person. Think about your family and your friends, the people you love and those who love you. What will happen to them if you die? They'll be sad once your gone. Another reason would be because many people are afraid to die. I admit I'm afraid to die, maybe it's because I'm young and I want to experience a lot of things before I die. Some people who are old are like me too, they don't want to die because they have not done everything they had wanted to do yet. I think it would be a really stupid thing to do for a person to commit suicide, death is not the correct answer to the problems we are experiencing. Though a lot of people may think that death is the solution to our problems, it is not. All of this bad things that you mentioned are happening because of that and what other people said. The world may be filled with misery and evil but not all is like that. As long as we live for what we believe in we can make it.

Stop being a selfish, greedy person and get enough people who will understand you. Make an group and take it over. Make it in the way you want it. Good luck.

anyway, the two things that keep me from killing myself are my family and the enjoyment i get from living my life.^^

This world is a horrible place to live in. It;s like every day you suffer from something. Something that is keeping you form killing yourself. Whats stoppping me, from killing myself? It would be nothing, i am on the edge of suicide. And i'm slipping. It's toture everyday. deciding, to kill myself or just wait in the darkness to fall apart. I should just fall off the edge, i mean suicide is painless, right? Besides the game of life is hard to play, and i'm going to lose it anyway...
