Just watched Mai Otome 0~S.ifr~ ep1 today. I’m always a fan of Mai-HiME serise, however the 3rd serise Zwei was disappointed me for some reason. So before I watched 0~S.ifr~, I didn’t think it will be good at all. But I was so wrong! It’s a lot better then I thought!!

Mai Otome 0~S.ifr~ is the 4th season of Mai-HiME serise. The 1st one is Mai-HiME (2004). The 2nd one is Mai-Otome (a.k.a Mai-ZHiME) (2005) . The 3rd one is Mai-Otome Zwei (a.k.a Mai-ZHiME 2). This is the 4th season of it. The story is set on about 20 years ago before the story of Mai-Otome. So the name 0 (zero) really makes sense. The main character is Arika’s mom Rena.

The story started with a bunch of guys just kiddnapped a young girl. Um… isn’t this guy looks really familiar? The other guys called him “Kiddo”.
And then a handsome looking guy and his twin tails megane maid came to save this girl.

Two Meister Otome showed up to help them. Um… we didn’t see this Otome in another Mai-Otome serise, so I guess she will die in the story of 0~S.ifr~ =P

Ohh! one of the Otome was #1 of the Five Columns, Wielder of the Galacticamarine(銀河の藍玉)! I always think that her mask is so ugly, haha.

The kidnapped girl’s name is Sifr Fran, 14 years old. She wanted to become Otome so she came to the Windbloom Kingdom trying to get into the Garderobe, but she failed the entrance exam.

The handsome guy said he is Bruce Wallace. He is a good friend of Sifr’s uncle. He picked her up at his request.

And this twin tails megane maid is Rena Yumemiya!! Mother of Arika Yumemiya! Twin Tails + Megane!! Double Moe! In the story of 0~S.ifr~, she is only 16 years old, ariena!

Sister Shion from the Earu Church.
And her Otome Meister Raquel. Bruce said they rescue people in need. They offered their help when Bruce told them about Sifr.

And she and Rena had some Yuri relationship! (Oo.

At night, they went to the some kind of ball room to have some kind of high class dinner. Ooh, look at Bruce’s outfit! Didn’t it reminds you of Mashiro!? I bet he must related to the royal Windbloom.

Some monsters attacked the ball room and tried to kidnap Sifr again! Rena took off her maid uniform and transfrom into Otome!! But why did she need to took the maid uniform off?? (-___-.?
Oh wait… something is not right. Lofty Crimson Jade!? Not Blue Sky Sapphire!?

A bad guy showed up and he captured Sifr! He called Bruce “King Bruce Windbloom”! I knew it! I knew Bruce is related to the royal for sure! btw, Bruce called this guy “John Smith”.

John Smith called the girl “M-9″, Cyborg I think.
M-9 is really strong. Rena needed to use her full power to fight her.

But Rena’s power levels were too high, the gem couldn’t keep up and broke. Rena had to fight M-9 with her broken gem! =(

Since her gem was broken, I guess she will used the Blue Sky Sapphire in the next episode!!

The story is really good and the fighting scene is so well done. Can’t wait to see the next episode! =D

Well, I have to say that Mai HiME is one of my all time favorite anime.
Mai Otome was disappointing for me; Mai Otome Zwei even more.

My feelings were just like yours: I was thinking that S.ifr would be bad bad bad.

I watched the first episode some weeks ago and was highly surprised by it.
The animation is flawless, the characters are nice and you can identify with them.
OK, let's not talk about the clothes, they are ugly like in Otome and Zwei.

The fighting scenes were gorgeous and very good done. The best seems to be that Sunrise really wants to make a good story about Rena and her living. The fanservice is not so big like in Otome and thanks to god Arika is missing (clearly, cause this is about her mom). It seems that the world in S.ifr is much darker than in Otome or Zwei. Garderobe seems not like a nice place. Trying to kill a human just because the bad guys don't get it in their hands and risking the killing of innocent people which are around is really tough. I never thought it would be happen cause Otome and Zwei were so funny and childish.

The scenery really has changed and I really like that fact. S.ifr is more for the older anime fan, Otome and Zwei were for children (that's what I think).

The only thing that disturbs me is: Where's my lovely Natsuki!!!
(Ok, she is not born yet but why not adding a similar character?)

Was Zwei really a 3rd season? I thought that it was just some OVA(wasnt it only 4 episodes?)...

putting that thought aside. I preferred Mai Otome way over than Mai Hime (I know, this is one of the rarest comments you'll ever see).

Well, i guess ill check out that 4th season (3rd in my mind).

U watched the first ova.. and is incredible :P i watching to the second ova :P the mai hime serie's y the best anime :P

I'm really disappointed that they left so much time before releasing the second episode. It didn't needs to be released every week but hey, 6 months are bit too long.

What I felt:

Good job guys, you took out the franchise, churn it, blend it, and now you get the shit about them again, and it will be a success because it is popular before.

Duh, repetative after too many seasons, and the things are just not... well attractive.

Just me, but I dropped this after the 2nd eps. I just don't feel for it like I did for the high school version, Hime Z was a rehash, with future elements and the only cool factor was Sergay Wang (funny name that) who blocked a bullet with his head.

The author just started a new comic series... Vita sexualis
its clearly a bit like Hime

Oh oh oh! i want to watch the 4th season! Im a Huge fan of Shizuru! I hate the thing they turned her into a stone most likely to be a mourning statue!

I say, the manga artist started a series called Owaser of The Stigmata which has heavy religious overtones and a focus on the Russian Romanov's version of Christianity, which is very interesting with a dark look at what religion does to people to fuel their agenda and so on.
I think this would make a better animation than this rehash of Mai-hime series.
Someone should start focus on it.

Wasn't it The golden Queser, or it's something like that, well that's how you would read it in japanese I think. Yes that manga is good, definitely following it. If it is animated the animation would be rated R, wouldn't it? Because of the violence and nudity.

Anyways, I watched Sifr a while ago, so I can't clearly remember,but I thought it was way better than zwei, I didn't really like the otome series to begin with, but I really liked the Hime series. Wasn't there a Mai Hime Destiny, that was supposed to come out in the future, or was it just a manga?

Mai Hime Destiny is just a radio drama if I remember correct.
You can get several drama cd's but there is nothing heard about being an anime.
