Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

I'm pretty sure it's happening all over the world. Gas prices are reaching for the skies and some people, like me, decide to risk their lives and buy a motorbike instead of a car. Of course, motorbikes consume way less gas, they requires less care, they're easier to ride and park, but... Lots of motorbike riders and pedestrians die every year because some idiot gets on a bike and pushes the throttle a bit too hard and hello tree (XD) emoticon In Europe, a person who has less than 2 years of experience on a lower class motorbike/scooter can ride a bike up to 24KW/34HP, so it helps a bit, but still, a 24KW bike can still have more power one can handle and can still have a top speed of 200km/h and even more. So, should one risk his life(and other's as well) to save some money on gas and get a motorbike, or be a normal sane person and drive a car, like the rest? Your thoughts about the whole situation?

Heck no. I don't like bikes anyways and I'm happy with my new Subaru STI. I'll pay as much as I need to keep that car until its engine gives away.

Well it's really great that you can afford a new STI and pay for the amount of gas it uses , but some people, like me, can't 9(>_>) emoticon

A lot of people here in the United States are complaining about gas, but I honestly think they have no right to, because all it is in the end is the American fuel economy reaching that of the rest of the world. Australia and Europe have been paying through the nose for it for a long time, and now it's our turn to finally catch up with them. People just need to stop buying trucks and start buying more fuel-friendly cars.

or bikes (9+_+) emoticon but face it, comparing gas consumption, bikes are way better, it's just that people are careless about how they're riding

no way, they're too slow (XD) emoticon besides, I don't think you would enjoy riding a bicycle when you have to ride more than a 100km/month 9(>_>) emoticon

For longer journeys I catch a train or a coach, that way I can work (or play) while travelling.

I'm in the lucky situation where I can walk almost everywhere I need to go in the average week (I do have a bicycle but I don't tend to use it much), plus the exercise is an added bonus. My total expenditure on transport this year is under 40GBP so far, including a couple of 300 Mile round trips. Glad I don't have to pay for fuel, insurance, road tax, parking charges, congestion charges etc...

Of course walking/public transport isn't practical for everyone. If I had to choose I'd rather go with a small fuel efficient car than a bike.

Maybe, but I'd rather be in a car when it's raining/windy/icy, and for carrying shopping/luggage.

It's true, cars have more space and you can't really use bikes all year round, unless you live where there is no snow, but when you have the proper gear for riding, wind and rain can do nothing. I rode a go kart in a storm once and with proper gear, you don't have to worry about anything (9+_+) emoticon

I'd still rather be warm and dry inside a car, even if I did have the proper clothing on for riding a bike.

Then again I guess I don't mind walking around when it's windy or raining (as long as I have an umbrella) and the journey doesn't take too long.

I ride my motorcycle as much as possible during the summer.

some things though, they're only as dangerous as the idiot driving. and they do actually required more maintenance. otherwise the idiot driving has more to deal with, like a locked chain, because said idiot didn't lube it regularly. but i love my bike, and if i could i would ride it all year. rain doesn't bother me either. i always wear proper protection, so it's no biggy. plus, i can go faster than the Sti someone's so proud of (i would be too if i could afford one), and use about 1/3 to 1/4 the gas doing it. btw i have a 2000 Triumph TT600, that's a crotch rocket, in case you didn't know.

Bikes can't take me into Pittsburgh from 30 miles out. Get a car, but one that gets 35 mpg or something.
