Iam sure this is one of the thinks we will never know.
I mean i cant imagine the anime would end with a weeding... i can see the weeding Ichii X Rukia the one site of the church is full of ichis famaly members and rukias site is no one because normal humans cant see Death Gods after all iam for pairing up Ichigo and Orihime XD

I (holding picket sign) I am orihime and ichigo renji and rukia supporter!. (continues marching in circle) hell no ichigo! rukia is a no go!!! Imagine ichi and oris kid- astounding reaitsu with healing ability possibly!
SPOILER (click to view)renji knew rukia too long and he has also gained Byakuya's respect when he himself said "your fangs did reach me" or something like that after they fought. Orihime would just die with out ichigo and i'm pretty sure she thinks ishida is gay for that time after the soul society arch where he redid her shirt and made it look even better. ishida also likes rukia too i think but i bet he knows he don't have much of a chance wit her. i like ishida and hopes he finds his own girl same for chad!

Yeah I am an InouexIchigo fan and Rukia should definitely be with Renji. But I doubt any romance is going to be happening anytime soon. I think it will just be left up to the fans to imagine. Well if Ichigo and Rukia get together...It would be awful. Because the only persons who obviously are in love are Renji (of Rukia) and Inoue (of Ichigo). And it would be just to cruel that way. And plus it's not meant to be "a romantic drama or so". And plus who knows, until the end of the series some characters might actually die. :D
This is probably never going to happen, it's a fan made couple, and most of all there seems nothing to be developing between the two, and nothing is visible in the near future.

I prefer if they stayed as friends (and this isn't because I hate the IchiRuki pairing XD).

It's just a shounen. I doubt anyone will ever die, ever get married, or even confess their love for each other. The show is all about mindless violence, which is why it is so entertaining. Adding anything else would ruin it.
