Something I did during my off time.
I vectored (also my first attempt) the image off of a screenshot of one of my favorite scenes in Mai Hime. I liked how the vector came out and I wanted to make a wallpaper out of it but I didn't have any ideas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ^_^

The texture's really killing the vector.
There are so many things you can do with color, and the texture prevents that.
Mai-HiME also is a rather modern series, so the age of the texture doesn't fit.
The positioning of the text is rather poor, as the menu bar on most people's computer generally covers the area.

The color doesn't work well with this picture and I can barely make out the words which are actually the best part. i like the quote

I'd taken a look at your wallpaper and I should agree with Sumiru that the texture's killing the render. I somehow understand what kind of wallpaper you're really aiming at =) I suggest you to lower the opacity of the patterns and blend them with more various colours instead of using a one-kind colour. Another suggestion from me is that try to fill the render with various colourful patterns and see how it'll change the sensation. Hope that helps~

Ahhh... thanks for the comments... they've definitely helped. Exams just ended so I'll be able to work on it a bit. Hopefully I'll have something before classes start up again hehe
The color, style and position of text doesnt look good. It looks like merged with your wallpaper composition (and texture) and barely notice the quote. (maybe with a darker tone or something to make it more noticeable).

I think the text is killing the vector lol..
get rid of it.. and make a small one and place it all together organised in a corner..
you could try placing it on the bottom right side...
about the texture.. yes it's a bit too outstanding... so turn down the opacity.. and also try a variation of colors... maybe a mix of textures or patterns as breezie said, could turn out nicely.. just play around and make many different versions till you get the right colors..
