Manga, or anime, or both! At the moment I'm collecting about 11 different ongoing manga series (real copies...I have lost count on how many scanlations I'm following), plus the several illustration books I have my eyes glued on...I average at around £30-40 (that's about US$50-70) a month. And I don't think I should count how much I have spent in total on my whole collection U_U
That's just manga and artbooks! Can't imagine the figures for avid collectors of doujinshi, shitajiki, telephone cards, cels, models...oh and cosplayers sometimes make huge investments in their costumes...

Money spent on anime and manga? 0. >.> Money spent on posters/models/other merchandise: More than I can count. I have so much Gunplamo it's scary... I don't know exactly how much, but probably more than $1000 Canadian already... I keep having this urge to buy more, although I still have 10 unopened boxes... I need help. XD
I know the feeling! And I keep discovering new series to collect...okkie maybe I don't have 10 unopened boxes ^^;; But when I was going through my manga magazine phase I was buying 4 different ones every month and my room was a fire hazard.

Im not sure if I spend alot, maybe $50 a month or so, depending if Im just buying a few posters or if that month im buying dvd's and ect then I spend alot more >.
I spend about 20 a month, maybe. It depends on when my manga series are released. I don't buy much anime, sadly. I tend to just download them instead.

On anime? Not a whole lot per month anymore, I own something like 400 anime DVDs, and I easily have $10,000 or more invested in anime toys (mostly collector chogokin robots). Now, if you take my current hobby, airsoft, I have another $10,000 invested in that with $500 being spent on it every month.

I used to buy alot, but alot of games for my platforms. Until I had to move and sell them :(. I have an XBox now, but I base myself in the computer the most. Really.

I spend the occasionl 15$ a month on manga as I don't read it that much, and an occasion 50$ if a series I really enjoyed is released on DVD. I'm not excessive and I get a lot of the stuff online.
Ttethys, airsoft is a game kind of like paintball, but instead played with 1:1 scale and real weight exact replica models that fire 6mm plastic BBs. It's a game that originated in Japan but is now played worldwide. Unlike paintball, we do a lot more military simulation-type stuff (real world missions), and it's a game based on honor because BBs do not leave a mark indicating you've been hit.

As of right now... I think less then $800. Would be more if I had the money to spend.
