This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Remember growing up and being awake at 7 o'clock in the morning just so you could watch your favorite tv shows? Remember when cartoons were actually that, toony? I do. Back all the way to Fraggle Rock, Yogi Bear, Looney Tones, and even Cartoon Planet.

Also, if you're a fan of the Cartoon Planet, and actually know what it is, leave me a comment about your favorite show on the block and we will become best friends.

Anyway, discuss, dismiss and even argue about shows here.

Yep tv sucks nowadays, but I didn't really like Yogi or looney toons or any of those classics anyway. That's why my room is full with cd's and dvd's full of anime and movies (^3^) emoticon

Eureeka's Castle was the shit. That's all that has to be said about early 90's Nick programming. Other than that I was a big fan of TMNT, Ghostbusters, the ORIGINAL Power Rangers and of course classic hanah barbara stuff like yogi, snagglepuss, and of course WB's Looney Toons.

Nick programming of the early 90's was the shit. Double Dare, Nick Arcade, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Ren and Stimpy and a bunch more. However, you also have to remember that changes occur with time and the new generation of kids have different tastes as well.

Agreed TV today isn't worth watching. I've stopped about a year or so ago, and even before then I always found myself doing something else instead of actually watching what was on the screen. I miss the good old days when the shows that were on weren't either stupid, or just plain boring as the ones that are on today. There still are a few gems out, but I find myself not watching them on the TV.

Oh yes TV shows do suck these days, specially in the day time. Can't tell you how much I hate those shows that have people sue-ing each other. The news is also flooded with useless information like celebrities losing their kids or something. =__=

I feel disappointed as the society is advancing and technology is developed. There were good things come from a developed society but there were more bad things come from it. Tradition disappeared, for an example the golden age of TV, as you said. Waking up early just to watch your favorite show, people really know how to treasure the TV. Nowadays, people watch TV continuously, almost a bad habit. They do not treasure things they have and use it carelessly and trashly. People are spoilt and greedy, I wish it would turn back to the old days, when people feel especially fascinated of the TV.

Double Dare, Are you Afraid of the Dark, Pete and Pete, The Brak Show, Fraggle Rock, Space Ghost (the original!), anything Hanna Barbera, Scooby Doo!, Pinky and the Brain, brain, brain, brain... I miss old cartoons. TV sucks, just shut it off.

TV isn't what it used to be. I remember watching shows like Doug, Hey Arnold, Daria, Rugrats (before they grew up), Scooby Doo, Ahhh Monsters, Flintstones, Jetsons, Loony Tunes with the road runner and bugs bunny, Dexter's Lab, Yogi the Bear, and it was so awesome. I think the few cartoons that are left that I like are Spongebob and The Simpsons. I remember being scared right out of my pants watching Are You Afraid of the Dark and Goosebumps. I also remember that Nick at Nite was showing the classics like I Love Lucy, Bewitched, and I Dream of Jeannie in the 90s or so. I love watching those. Not sure if they show them anymore. Those were the good ol' days.

Those tv shows are still being shown here, in my country: Spongebob, Chalk Zone, Dora the Explorer, Backyardigans, Scobby Doo, Tom & Jerry and even Casper!! Until few months ago, Hey, Arnold! Rugrats, Blues Clues, and some other shows are still on the tv. They're not new episodes though.. most of them have been repeated again and again! I can guess the whole story after I watch the first few minutes of the film. But those films are fun, I admit. Kids need more tv program that can educate through a way that's interesting for them.

Nowadays, there're lots of tv programs that're... *think* not educating for the young generation. Well.. Some are still good though, contain moral messages and also entertaining. Some would say the this millenia is the golden age of television since the film 3d effects, etc, are extremely great, while some others could give a totally different opinion. I personally not really understand what's the meaning of television's golden age. Based on what can we tell that?

*silent*

I hope my comment is relevant with the topic that you want to discuss.

Regards, Yuki

Yeah those shows still exist, but they're all mixed together with a bunch of new ones that just dont make it feel like classics anymore. I remember watching Pink Panther every morning right before preschool and come back home to watch sailor moon. Nowadays, most people just download shows they want to watch, even though it's almost always illegal.

Today's TV is really a joke, full of reality shows, midnight porn commercials with unattractive pseudo women who wanna show how sexy they are.

With Big Brother the Age of Reality TV idiocy began, tadaaaa!! Even most Hollywood movies are crap today, I rarely go to the movie nowadays.

It is hard for me to determine a golden Age of TV, but definately I can say tat TV of about 10 years ago was much better, we had series like Knight Rider, A-Team, Dukes of Hazards and cartoons like Transformers, Saber Rider, Captain N, Scooby Doo and etc...

Another issue is that nowadays Action movies and series including Anime which are licensed throughout the country are being edited und cut like crazy so much that it spoils the fun for the real fans and Cable TV and Pay TV are too expensive to watch a proper Anime version... Lucky for us, in the age of Internet we have the opportunities to download Anime uncut with subtitles according to our preferences... so why should we watch any TV if everything practically became a joke?

Back then when i was so 10 years ago i remember there was a lot shows i wanted to see okay i was 9 and all i saw was cartoons but it was realy great cartoons like bugs Bunny, Looney Toons Duffy Duck and co, well you know what i mean
Today i look in the Television and i see Spongebob or other Shows with zero
Fun, only what i think when i see such crap is"if i watch that crap any longer i lose my Brain."
Honestly i think TV is stoping The Evolution and bring us slowly back to the beginng.
