This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Hmm. This is the first time that I use Photoshop for make some Wallpaper because I always use it for CG my drawing (It isn't really nice).

For my opinion. I use Pic from scan too many = =a but this is because I don't like effect wallpaper (and I can't do it) . So I think I just use a bit of skill to make it. That make me feel this Wall isn't good enough to upload in AP.

For my work
Scan From : Aria
Layers : 10
Character : Alice
What I do?
- Make Character's Color Clearer
- Water's Color in River (In Scan it all White Blank)
- Sky (I think I make it worsen)

The extraction needs a bit more work. It has white+sharp edges especially around hair edges.
Then, you should try blending it with the back or trying (Duplicate Layer->Gaussian Blur(on the clone layer) and the blend them together -especially try soft light and overlay- )

I think that the back is nice but it wants work to be done. Darken it a bit and use some brushes to make it more original than a simple stock.

In general it needs a lot of work, but i think you are in a very good way! Keep it up!

I love the background. It's very nicely done and goes in well with the background.

The scan has jpeg articfacting on it around the edges of the lines. This could be fixed by vectoring the image and cleaning everything up. The scan is also quite poorly extracted and I can see jagged edges and white pixels around the edge of the characters. Try to avoid doing this as it forces the character to stick out a bit. She doesn't blend in as well with the background as she could do.

The text is not well done I feel. There are too many fonts and styles. Try to stick with one font and try to use some effects to spice it up a little bit.

Don't forget - your sig is meant to be at the bottom of the wallpaper to fit underneath the start menu task bar. You've put it at the top, and if you were to submit this to AP, it would be rejected for this reason.

Other than that, it's a really solid effort for a first wallpaper, and you've done really well!

Thank you for Comment. What you comment is right.

Umm... I tried to clean the edge and make it nice and I think this is good but when I see other's Work.Oh!! This is a really bad one. So I must clean the edge by vector and will learn about vector's tutorial = =a (If I have sometime).

And then thank you about signature. May be I don't read rules completely and I am not good at English.

P.s. Is it OK? If I Submit in AP after I fix about Sig?

Agreed, it's just too varied and rather difficult to read because the eye & mind need to adjust to the fonts & styles so many times in so few words. Also, you might want to consider cutting it down to just "In a Bright Day" and "With Alice" - the series title and copyright you can put at the bottom with your signature rather than out there in the middle of the wall. It kind of spoils the flow of words - a beautiful title and caption, and then blam! copyright sign. I found it rather "ugh".

There's a nice watercolor quality to the background. Would be really sweet if the scan could be colored to fit the style, but its not really necessary. But my gut feeling is that vectoring this scan may cause it to become a bit too strong compated to the background, so I'd suggest trying cleaning out the artifacts by brush first, and see how that goes.

Nice design, but you need to address the quality issues in the scan extraction and cleaning to make this a great wall. Good luck!

Very good idea. I'd definitely take back what I said about the vectoring. Colouring it to make it match the background will allow the scan to blend in better with the rest of the wallpaper. Good idea.

Make sure you post your updated version here and we will offer more advice if needed. Ganbatte!
