Tales of Symphonia
Well, I was browsing through GameSpot.com and I came across an RPG for the GameCube called Tales of Symphonia. Seems interesting. It has cel-shaded graphics cause it's anime-y. It has anime cut-scence or so I think it does cause of the picture I posted below. The battles look great from what I could see from the trailer. I can't wait to get my hands on this game. It's gonna be a great game indeed.

I know this game.
It's made by namco.
I've been trying to get the ps2 version for ages since I'm a huge fan of the Tales saga. ;_;

They're only going to release the Gamecube version stateside, but yea from what I've seen the gameplay is much like the other 'Tales' games that Namco made. I'm going to get this when it's released here in July. <!--emo&:D--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

They are doing a japanese PS2 port for it as well. Another Tales game, Tales of Rebirth has also been announced for the PS2. I'm looking foward to TOS because I'm a big fan of Kosuke Fujishima's artwork and the Tales series. I doubt that these two Tales games will make it stateside though for the PS2 because Namco has appeared to lose interest in bringing the Tales games over. Nintendo is the one doing the localization for the gamecube version and not Namco.

Namco has been being a real bitch about localizing games for a while now, about the only thing they are willing to spend money on is freaking Tekken. They not only refused to port Venus and Brave, but they also told Atlus there was no chance they'd allow them to port it, but we get the craptacular tekken spin off game. Just what we need another 3d action game clone starring a character no one cares about from a fighting game
Tekken has been done one too many times. They should atleast start over clean. And make a whole different story line. Final Fantasy is different every game. Execpt FFX-2. They should trying doing that. <!--emo&:o--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='ohmy.gif' /><!--endemo-->!

Heh that panther guy doesn't look much like King from Tekken, I'm still amazed they didn't rename the game Tales of Destiny i, damn those retards at Namco,damn them to hell ;_;
Loved the game and beat it XD
Tales of Symphonia is definitely the best RPG out there for the Gamecube. The story, though kinda cliche, is still very good. There wern't too many anime cutscences - just the intro and the ending and like a few in between. The real time battle concept known in the Tales Series is very good.
Only one character could summon (like in FFX), and even that was hard to get off (you'll understand once you play the game) but the summons were good.
Eh, just read a review from a site. But yeah, its a good game. 80+ hours will be spent on it.

Tales of symphonia was good i thot the game was very excellent and the 4 player co-op for the gamecube :) . also the game resembled some other aspects of other games like summoning but in its own style and it provided characters with overlimits too and some get sort of an animated short stop of their face appearing and then a large spell followed... find out for yourself =) a good game and has 7 different ways to write the ending? but they all end up the same except for 2 of them... enjoy
Ive played the game. Love it to death. I must have played through it about 4 times now. Favorite charecter, Sheena. She was really cool, though Zelos is hilarious.
One f the things I liked best about teh game was the skits, they really added a whole lot of charm and deoth to the charecters, and they were really simple and some of them were absolutly side splitten.
As for the PS2 version from what I ehar there's not too much added so Im not that upset that were not getting it in the states.

I really like this game. I got it when it launched in the US. I was really close to finishing it...I got stuck at a place. I should go back and beat it!
Namco really should bring more Tales games to the US....I am glad Nintendo helped them do it this time. Namco really really really...should bring Tales of Phantasia of PSone to here. I would love it so much!

I've played it through and beating it. It's a great storyline with many plot twists where you least expect them, and the battle system and graphics are very well made. All in all probably the best RPG for the GameCube system.
