Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Location Cards? Ok, we don't need to stick with MtG anyways. I just used it as base.

^Dias 2 hours 51 minutes ago
Using the term blue/red/etc magic is a bit awkward. I'd be incline to use Science/Nature/Magic/etc factions instead. Works better with Location cards. The term mana can be replaced by faction points.

°akiranyo 2 hours 55 minutes ago
Majority should decide. They are just lazy. I thinked about mana cards.

^Dias 3 hours 3 minutes ago
Rather than calling the cards land, why not call them Locations?

I know most of the flame wars considering these two platforms. But, I was wondering as a designer which one you use, and the reason why. Personally I use a PC. The reason why is because it's the only thing that I have and I can't really see the difference between using Photoshop on a Mac and using it on a PC.

I am a PC user and I'm sorry to say everthing the Mac user say about window is true I crash once a day and twice on sundays. A few of my friends use Macs or other OS.s and I really don't see much of a difference except the bottons on the left and the icons on the right. But my friends say:

Multitasking: You can crash several programs all at once.

Built-in Networking: You can crash several PC`s all at once. No need to buy Novell Personal Netware or LANtastic to crash.

Microsoft Network: Connect with other Windows 98 users and talk about your crash experiences. Support groups in different cities will be organized.

Multimedia: Experience the immense sight and sound of crashing.

Compatible with existing software: It will also crash your existing software.

User-Friendly: Picture of clouds

State of the Art: Pay for Bill's next bid for a work of art.

Macintosh-like: It took Microsoft 14 years and it's not even original.

Online Registration: Dial into Microsoft and let them snoop around your hard drive. This will guarantee you a place in Microsoft's files for the rest of your life.

MS Plus: More money for Bill's plus side.

Increased Productivity: You will need to increase your budget to buy more products like RAM and HardDrives. Better yet, get a new computer! That's product-ivity.

Optimize: It will increase the utilization of your hard drive and cpu so much so that you'll end up upgrading your system. See 'Increased Productivity'.

Anyway I would still stand up for windows ;_;

I use macs...originally cos my dad would not buy any other thing cos he was too lazy to learn Windows (or so he said) and now I just prefer it cos it seems more stable..the OS, most windows I've used are usually pretty bad..they freeze pretty fast and the look/interface is ugly...especially the starting...but XP is coming along it is decent...or it maybe the fact that Macs have better LCD displays...at a cost... as I see it the best thing about Windows is GAMES! they have all the games while mac gets a few at double the cost... I think it's just preference there is no better computer cos all the high and dorky-professionals will be using OS's like linux or sumthing...

I use both, but I would prefer a MAC for graphics design. Photoshop was once designed to utilize the powers of the MAC internal design. MACs are actually faster than PCs and handle memory much better. (That's why you see MACs with low specifications but perform at pretty high speeds.) This is good for handling large files. (Such as high resolution/dpi images in Photoshop.) The difference is apparent when it comes to video creation. MACs are faster than PCs at rendering videos and 3D (Extremely IMPORTANT exception being dual processor based PCs). MACs are simply more stylish as well, and their components are great. (Also, not many bugs whatsoever.)

But if you're not going to do a ton of work with video creation, PCs are the way to go. More compability, games, raw processing power, etc. Since PCs are very customizable, there are no limits. It's just that most PCs aren't designed for videocreation/graphicsdesign and most MACs nowadays are. But with the right PC, you can do anything. <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Macs might be faster and more stable, but think of the programs you run now then see if you could use them on a mac.

Id say macs for visual quality and pc for everything else. i personally hate macs because theyre too flashy, i mean, the mac company spends soo much time trying to make it look nice and pretty cases and an os with icons that take up half the screen, they kinda skip everything else. pcs on the other hand are more simple, and you have a larger variety on customization such as a large variety of hardware and software surpassing the macs.

I use PCs but I've not seen a MAC in action in front of me before - using Photoshop that is. I've not seen a MAC do video rendering as well but I've definitely heard of the PC VS MAC battle and that Mac is more stable and better at rendition - of which I guess I'll agree from everything that I've read. Although for PC, if you've got a rather good computer, you can get window blinds to make it look like a Mac at least on your desktop <!--emo&^_^--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo--> Screencaps of Mac's desktop definitely look better than Windows :bounce:

I think PCs and Macs have their advantages and disadvantages. PCs are fully customizable. I built mine from scratch for under $600 and it is pretty sweet. The problem with PCs is Windows. When I first upgraded to XP it worked perfect. It never crashed and I never got errors or anything. Now all of a sudden I have these weird bugs, like the taskbar sometimes disappears and closes down my programs. I can't start them back up until I reboot. Also Windows Explorer has errors causing the exact thing mentioned before to happen. It is driving me crazy.

I would use Linux in a heartbeat if I could get my programs to run on it. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Studio MX, and Cubase SL (for music) and from what I heard none of these work on Linux.

I have been using Macs at school and considering how old they are, the ones that work right are pretty fast. They are the graphite 500mhtz G4s with OS 9. The problem is that if you use .5 of gaussian blur or more in Photoshop the system crashes every time. Recently we just got a bunch of G5s and iMacs in with OS 10 and they are awesome. The 1 ghtz iMacs blow my Athlon 2800 PC out of the water. I haven't used them very much yet, so there could be problems in them I haven't experienced yet. Once I get out and get me a real job I'm saving up and buying a G5 and a Powerbook, but I'm still gonna keep a PC around.

Mac's are best for CG'ing, Video Editting, Coloring etc.

They're not as versatile as a regular desktop when it comes to upgrading parts and some programs. Don't get me wrong Macs are good computers, just not as versatile, plus the one button mouse becomes rather annoying. Can't forget to mention that they have a stable OS and just released the new one with upgraded security features called, "Panther."

The only real reason that I would go for a Mac would be for graphic design. <!--emo&^_^--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I <3 emoticon versatility! VERSATILITY!

I definitely like PCs better. Partially it's because of personal preferences and I'm just more familiar with PCs than with Macs.

I have to troubleshoot both platforms at my office, and the Macs often give me a hard time. That's not to say that the PCs sometimes give me a hard time, but I find that for Macs, it's harder for me to get to the root of the problem.
