The question about how our lives should be lived is really bugging me. I know everyone choose what they want to do like jobs and stuff, but is there more to that. I mean, I am 19 now and after first year in college i have been wonder if what im doing is what i want. I walked to school everyday and i look at peoples face and most people looks so sad. Pretty much what everybody do is work to provide the essentials for living but is that it to life. Im currently home for the summer and it seems like im wasting my time. I feel as though i could be doing something better but i just dont know what. I feel so trapped in the world as though i have to follow what everyone does like find a job. I know i have to find work to support myself, but to me it seems as though I should be doing something else. when i watch some animes it seems as though they are so free to do what they want. They dont have to follow what society is doing.
i guess i just want to know if anyone else thinks like this or have any opinions on how we should live.

Well many have pondered over what life is all about and our purpose in life.. As you can see that finding an answer to this question is difficult!
According to me, we are all born for a purpose and that is to live the life given to us .. So you must do things you feel are interesting making sure that in the process you aren't bothering anyone else... Its similar to playing a role in a drama where you have to concentrate only on your part and the rest follows..
Living your life is to make yourself useful.. Just like the people who make anime to entertain you, but in reality they are just using their imagination skills as a means of earning money.. They aren't exceptions either, they have to follow a particular routine too..
Well society is made of people and even you as a person can influence society in some way.. Its not some being that is controlling everyone's lifestyle! People follow others only to feel secure, but there many who do things differently too..
So basically you get to live your life in anyway you want as long as you enjoy yourself and aren't a nuisance to others! Remember monotony is a part of life too and its only you who can help yourself overcome the dryness in your life.. For starters try looking at the world from a different point of view..

you're born, you're raised, asked to study hard, be good and have a good job, earn plenty of money as much as you can and always keep the faith

but, it seems like a smooth ride up to the end-- although not all are that lucky to have that simple life, but most people wish they are at the position. basically, we all want to be happy, the fact is that how we are going to be in that state takes most of our time in this world, aiming for our dream, for our wants after our needs while in the end, we aren't sure of what we really wants..

cut the whole chase, stop thinking about this and start living, if you're alive that means you're heart is either blind of your mind is full of knowledge that disrupts the whole concept. so start from simple things liek breathing, take a walk and see the world, even if it is bad or below what you want, atleast you experience something

Would have to say the same as you...But if you are really happy with what you are doing then I think it is all ok...I may only be 17 going on 18 in July 22, but I have seen and here people talk all the time about life. I some times think as well if what I am doing is going to be right for me later on in life, but then I just tell my self that what I am doing si what I wanted to do in the 1st place. Also, to me I think you do not need a big paying job to have a good life. As long as you can pay off what you need to and get what you need and want it is all ok. Life... A simple word but has the most essential meaning.
Life is depending from which side we watch it. I mean if we think that life is cruel, then our life could be crueler. Or the opposite, if we think that it's nice to life, then our life could be even nicer.
I thought it's related to each people's philosophy of life.
But one thing that we have to know is, life isn't easy. WE have to work as hard as we can, then don't forget to pray. It'll be a zero result if our work doesn't supported by our pray.

Life is simple, but humans make it complicate from theirselves, and of course, we too. What do we need for oue life, but food, place to stay, or some other things for surviving. Things change all the time. At the very first, people do not care about repitation or technology. Humans are the one who developed everything and make more disire. That's what is in my mind. However, I do not care much about it now because I just have to live with now in the society of this generation whether I like it or not. I might not have everything I want nor know what I am doing or want for now, but I believe there gotta be one day that I figure it out and try to get what I want. Hopefully that day comes soon. I will just have to cope with what I suffer now and get pass it.

Life is a blessing and life is a challenge. It is up to us humans of what we make of it. So far we've made it pretty darn complicated, and we can argue that pretty much horrible in many aspects. Yet, there are so many beauties to being alive that I thank God for every breath I can still take.

Yeah, life's pointless. I mean, seriously.. why am I here doing what I'm doing. It's odd if you think about it.
But in the end, it doesn't mean anything. I realize I just need to find a point in life, and my point right now is to be able to be independant. Completely. It might take a few years though, because getting education and a job isn't all that easy and I just finished high school.

I understand what you mean though, I also think the society puts a lot of pressure on role models. But you know, I always try to find a different way myself. I always ask myself when I do something: do I really want this or is something pushing me? In the second case, I'll try getting there faster than anyone else, or I don't do it. It's kind of hard to keep this up, but in my eyes it's worth the effort, because I can show myself and others I exist and I can do what I want, no matter what others tell me. I give a LOT of value to that though, simply because I never liked life before.

Sometimes we never really value something until we lose it/nearly lose it. If you ever have a near-dead experience (not the afterlife things, I mean when you're actually almost died), then you may see life at a different perspective.

You maybe living a pampered life sheltered by your parents in a beautiful happy house, but millions of children are striving hard just for food or time to learn/to play. We have life, yet we still don't know what to do. Some have so little life, yet so much he want to do.

Try to visit a terminal diseases section at your nearest hospital, and realize that those in the edge of death and willingly embrace it are actually those who feel more 'alive'.

I'm born...in 29-01-94 in a hospital at the age of 7 i was thinking that maybe life's not that hard after all !at the age of 9...well...i was thinking that...LIFE SUCKS !BAD LUCK IS ALWAYS AROUND ME !!WHEREEVER I GO WHENEVER !At the age of 13..i've calmed my self from the storm...i'm an organized girl and i know what to do !simply...have a normal life, there's hard time, easy time, and enjoyable time..
Of course...YEp !you don't even realized that time flies preety fast !Life's not easy kids !(except when you0re a baby)don't make too much problems in your life...

One life is enough if you do it's right, but how to do it, it's your choice. Sometime life is unfair it's SUC_ sometime it's too much. For me i try to live as much useful as i can, because life is too short this time you know you still 15 years next time to think back again you be 60 year. Time is one thing that we can not buy or re-back (for now)

hmm...because of love..we are happy yet because of love too we suffer.

life can be descirbe to many things... you can get lucky, you can get bored, you maight even get a little bad luck.. However life can be destined well fully on your actions.. Like in "My Name Is Earl" in the once said.."you do good thing, you get good things, you do bad things. you get bad things, karma"
i once believe in that but hey that will show us to do good stuff from beginning to the end of our life..
but the point is life can be describe by many people.. heck we not the only ones who life live in this spinning globe..
life truthfully i think is wonderful.. no one can predict the future that may come..
it is all rely on God on our destiny...
