Anyone picked this up yet? I just got it yesterday, it's awesome. I think I like this one better than the Gamecube version, plus you can play anyone online too, if it wasn't for that feature I probably would have passed this one up since I wasn't too impressed by the screenshots I'd seen earlier.
Nintendo has improved on that version a lot, hopping is back! And you can finally again hold items behind to as a shield for others projectiles. Plus the map on the bottom screen of the DS is really helpful showing all the obstacles forthcoming, on the track and from your fellow racers.
Still haven't tried the online component until I learn some of the tracks more familiarly, but from what I've heard it's really fun, with slim to no lag whatsoever.
Once I get setup online I'll post my friends code (what you use to find friends to challenge) and we'll get some Animepaper races going!

the onli good think abt games like mario kart and all those racing games is the multiplayer... single player onli lasts abt 2 hours for me ... then i will never play single player again ><

If you've played Mario Kart 64, it's just like an online multiplayer version of that with some new items and customization options for characters and karts.

For the DS?
OMG BEST DS GAME EVER...seriously. Bunny hopping is the pwnzers in Mario Kart. Plus all the old tracks of love. The only downsides to the game I can think of is that most of the tracks are short and that you have to blow into your mic to get balloons up in battle mode. Playing with friends is insanely fun and chaotic of course. Playing Wi-Fi is kinda bad though. The format of the way you want to play takes sooo long if you're going to play with a friend. But once you start playing it's greattt. Just my input on this thread.
Edit: USB adapter is for Wi-Fi connectivity for the DS. You plug the USB adapter to your computer so the DS can pick it up. Nintendo offers this product because some routers don't work with the DS.

I dont care for the ds so i have no intention of buying this game. Actually I already sold it because there are no quality games for it unlike my precious PSP which can also play all of my media and browse the pics i get from here.

I really can't wait for the game. I always loved the game since SNES. OOO and WIFI on it! I really can't wait to play it across the world with my DS.
