cars, motorbikes and gas prices

Well if this keeps going I'm gonna invest in a bicycle and just use the car to buy groceries. Problem is, most streets and all highways are not suited for bicycles, so there's the matter of how much time you lose riding.
That's another problem I keep on facing. Most of the time is a lot faster to ride your car than ride the bus. With the bus you have to wait an average of 30-45 minutes for it to arrive (never mind when they come every 20 minutes, it's happening less and less) and if you are in a hurry you might as well call in late.
Nowadays I just choose to stay home if I don't really need to go out. I hope gas prices go back to somewhat normal prices (even 3 dollars was a lot), but considering the greedy bastards of the oil companies that's unlikely.

MistukisakuraNuclear powered cars? Of course, nuclear power is cheap, but I'd rather ride a motorbike that a nuclear reactor on wheelsemoticon
Electricity has to come from somewhere. Currently it's mostly coming from fossil fuel plants. Replace them with nuclear and you will be able to provide cleaner (in terms of greenhouse gases and pollutants) and cheaper electricity for hydrogen fuel as well as electrical cars.
The Chevy Volt is an electrical car that is garnering lots of interest, it's scheduled debut is 2010. It's supposed to be able to run 40 miles on a charge and has a gas tank for backup. Honda has the FCX hydrogen fuel cell car that is on limited run in LA and other manufacturers have been looking at hydrogen fuel cell technology for awhile now. The problem is hydrogen fuel requires a significant amount of energy to make, a cheap source of electricity would make hydrogen fuel much more viable.
All become expensive. but in capirtal city like Jakarta its imposible ride a bike T___T too much polution here.

I usually use bicycle, so i directly do no have complains to the higher price of gus so much. however, the high price of gus effects to the price of goods gradually.
If one wants to save energy he or she should just stay home and do nothing, or just travel by bike to nearby places. But that wouldn't be so much fun for young people who love to travel in cool looking cars, hehe...
Even if one wants to exercise and finds outthat his or her favorite park is far away from their home, he/she has to drive there if they don't want to waste any time. Taking public transportation like buses, well at least in Thailand is really unpleasant, uncomfortable, fully stuffed with people, and a complete waste of time...
In developed countries like most of Europe travelling whether by car or by public transportation is immensely expensive (I am from Germany btw, but live in Thailand for oversees studies). For me it does not make much difference whether I travel by my car or take the train because traintickets are very expensive nowadays. There is no way to save transportation costs in developed countries anymore... You pay a lot either way so what's the difference??
