Clannad The After Story

I just finished watching the whole series.
I must say that After Story was waay better than the first series.
it's more like the first series was an interlude to all the drama that was about to come in the second. I'm so glad there was a good ending =D
This is now one of my favorite anime's I guess!

I Love Clannad After Story is very good anime.
Clannad After Story is an amazing anime :D But ... I'm not too sure bout the ending. It seemed a little too happy? But then again, it is anime... and a very good one at that

bebopI have to agree. Clannad AfterStory was so much more amazing than the first season. However, without watching the first season you won't understand the relationship between Okazuki and Nagisa, and all they've been through. These people really created an awesome anime. I'm usually into stuff like fighting and all that junk but as far as originality and real life related stuff this is byfar my favorite. I don't like Episode 23. It makes no sense. Are they going to create a new season with Okazuki getting along with Kyou? Is it showing what would've happened if Okazuki and Nagisa didn't meet? I'm confused. So Okazuki and Nagisa is not a true story? Someone tell me.
As far as I know 23 is a flashback of before Okazaki actually met Nagisa. I guess its kinda like a prequel episode to the whole Clannad series.
I thought 23 was at the place where if he did go back, would he still say something to knowing that if he did, she would end up with a lot of pain and not being able to cope. Its one of those situations where "if you could go back, would you change anything?" kind of things. Thats what I think anyway.

I was really excited about this when I first heard and now after watching the first two episodes...goes on.

I'm not so sure anymore. When I initially heard there was going to be an after story my thought was that they would show how Nagisa & Tomoya live their lives together after finishing school and such.

Oh I've been meaning to get back to this. Since the thread has completed I'll go sans spoiler tags now. There are still some things I'd like to comment on but can't, as I could say something that reveals too much knowledge that came from After Story.
Tomoya stuff aside, I find this rather surprising too. I'm not sure what the twins are a redundancy of. What other characters were already filling their roles? I feel like the whole first half of the show would have a drastically different dynamic in the core group if these two were removed. I don't even mean their feelings for Tomoya, which I consider to be secondary to their role as early friends to Nagisa. I guess what you call "making up the numbers" I see as helping form a more diverse and dynamic group of friends. Initially it was Tomoya and Nagisa, with a flighty Youhei still in his initial "doin' it for the bread" mode. Kyou and Ryou were significant as Nagisa's first female friends in the school. Fuuko came along later in that episode and took the focus for awhile, but Kyou and Ryou remained throughout and beyond and Fuuko's relationship with Nagisa and Tomoya is quite a different one. They also added simpler things, not the least of which being comedy. During Kotomi's arc, who does Nagisa spend so much of her time with? Kyou and Ryou. They become close friends to her (part of why Ryou is so concerned about seeming to go behind Nagisa's back, and why Kyou can finally accept Tomoya choosing someone else) and I think that really did a lot to boost Nagisa's confidence, independence, and plain old happiness. Nagisa had Kotomi too, but while and oddball and an oddball can get along quite well, hanging out with Kyou and Ryou provided Nagisa with a somewhat more, uh, "normal" style female friendship. It also gave us the three adorable stooges team in Nagisa, Kotomi and Ryou.
...And besides where else would we get our Clannad twincest fanart!? ::coughs::
At any rate, glad you enjoyed the show, and I think you'll be quite pleased and/or reassured by some things in After Story... should any R1 company license the damn thing.

Ore... Sanjou! *Takes pose*
Both 'first' and 'After Story' version were both equally good in seeing some go plot for this story. Nagisa-kun's death was involve during 'The Movie' version which involve during her illness still giving birth to the young and innocent Ushio-chan; of course the plot different from After Story that first one Okazaki, Tomoya-SAN to accept his destiny to raise his child Ushio-chan for the sake of last request from Nagisa-chan which makes a different ending. The After Story tells aftermath of Nagisa-chan's death a last smile to Tomoya-san, I can tell the scene was really depressing and sad but also touching. The involvement of between a girl and robot, still the true identity this mystery girl is none other than Ushio-chan in teenager age. Of course good thing Ibuki, Fuuko has now appeared on second season become friends with Ushio-chan however, due to Tomoya-san's noticed of remembering her from season first.
Many of the scenes are good especially I'd seen many hilarious moments episode 1 to 5 but, I did saw episode 23 during the past about Clannad first, it has nothing to do involve with Tomoyo-sama or Kotomi-san there. Yet the question Ryou has deep feelings to Tomoya-san since love letter event. I can't blame Sunohara, Youhei's pranks all over again especially when comes at Tomoyo-sama getting 'Rider Kick' many times. Oh yeah, Ryou is older and become a teacher to Ushio-chan and so does for Botan became large in charge a pigglet became large boar. I wish they continue making story for Clannad after 'After Story' epic.
One of the best scenarios during the story, could probably when comes to Ichinose, Kotomi-san the 'Clannad First' or Ibuki Fuuko's from After Story arcs. Honestly I like the new version song of 'Dango Dai Kazoku' Tomoya-san and others version. But, it hasn't to do involve within 'After Tomoyo' version would alternate version when Okazaki-san is with new girlfriend. To be honest Okazaki-san's looks really get on the girls making him popular or whatever.
That is all at this moment.

But when watched it once more time, i feel strange, i like it more than the first time i watched it ^_^ especially the first episode.
-We see a dude with blue hair talking about how he hates the town he lives in. Nothing but the same routine everyday. He then meets this girl talking to herself. Something about how she likes fun things and she doesn't want them to change. The guy tells her to go find more fun things. Something about that line is golden. The background music is also nice. Something about the last line that is said as both the guy and the girl walk off seems kind of "heavy."
-The OP song is okay. I don't have much else to say, but the OP animation certainly is nice. There's lots of cute girls in this show.
-Sunohara, Okazaki's friend, is being mauled by some sports guys. The animation for this show is fantastic, to be expected since it's KyoAni, but I especially like it in this sequence where Sunohara is getting tossed around. The guy is so pathetic it cracks me up, in a good way.
-The hot dorm mother comes to Sunohara's rescue. I just love how scared Sunohara is of the Rugby team. I already like the guy. I just love how Okazaki messes with his head.
-The scene with the abandoned room is rather odd. At this point I don't understand what role it's going to play in the story.
-Okazaki's a slacker. I kind of feel bad he's being talked about that way. Ryou is cute, her sister Kyou, not so much. Ryou seems like the type who has problems asserting herself. Her fortune telling is oddly specific.
-Okazaki meets the cute girl again. She's all alone, and she's repeating a grade ;_;. I'd be her friend. She wants to join the drama club. She doesn't stand out much, so she doesn't seem to have very many friends. ;_;
-LOL at Okazaki sitting on Sunohara. Sunohara is like "WTF!?"
-This hot girl, Tomoyo, comes and kicks biker butt. I love the little "spectator's view" bit. Tomoyo is awesome.
-The brown haired girl's name is Nagisa. She's so moe.
-Sunohara assumes the Tomoyo butt-kicking was all staged, and then he gets a little taste of Tomoyo power. It's an interesting legend behind Tomoyo. If only you had told Sunohara sooner, Tomoya.
-Hamburger!?? The Drama Club room is empty, so Nagisa can't join the Drama Club. ;_;
-Ryou blushes when she sees Tomoya and Nagisa. I wonder what that means?
-Nagisa can still revive the Drama Club, and Tomoya vouches to help her, even if he doesn't know why. It's the power of moé! Still, I'm liking Tomoya.
-For a second, I thought that Tomoya walked by a house that a car crashed into.
-Furukawa Bakery! Tomoya disses Nagisa's mom's pastry. Doesn't he know she has a sensitive heart, and a devoted husband, to boot?
-Nagisa's parents are just plain awesome. I was cracking up this whole scene. Tomoya Okazaki Eternal, sounds like some band or mecha name. Apparently Nagisa's dad wants Tomoya to steal his daughter away, that is, if he's man enough.
-Tomoya's got Dad issues, that sucks, and his mom died too. He wants to be whisked away by Nagisa.
-The ED is kind of nice. A big dango family!
Overall, a very good first episode. This show already has a lot of characters I like, and the humor is awesome.
