After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

And one more point about it just the music on the menu (BGM: "Town, Flow of Time, People") is giving me goosebumps. I'm hesitant to even start the episode because I want to sit here listening to it... but then I remind myself that I have the OST and can listen to it whenever.

- And this opening scene. This wonderful, beautiful opening scene that's made me tear up so many times. First Tomoya's frustrated, disgusted tirade against the town and his own troubled life (with the menu track above), melting away suddenly into BGM: "Nagisa" as he encounters a strange girl at the foot of the hill leading up to school.

- The color, oh god the color! Timed perfectly with the music it flashes in, tentatively at first but then with full force when Tomoya tells her to just go and find new things to enjoy and she looks over at him and the the sakura petals blow past and oh god Nagisa you are the most beautiful person and the hands down my most beloved character in anything ever and then those solitary notes one by one sounding out as Nagisa and Tomoya flash by the screen and start that long, long uphill climb... ::shivers:: I love it. Still the best opening scene to any anime.

- Then... Mag Mell. <3 emoticon OP
- Oh Sunohara Youhei. You're so adorably pathetic. And damn Misae is stacked. It's interesting to watch Tomoya here, because he's so disillusioned with the world and yet seems unexpectedly outgoing when with Youhei.
- Suddenly we're in a different world! A young male voice talks about a world that has ended, an empty room, and a young girl, all alone...

- Fujibayashi Ryou!! God damn she is so hot. She's easily one of the most attractive Clannad girls (I actually prefer her to her sister Kyou in that respect. Er, although they are twins). Also, zettai ryouiki! Tomoya seems up for teasing her a little here, but you don't really sense any malice in it. When she starts getting flustered he quickly backs off, though without making any promises about coming to school on time.

And it comes up with funny scene about fortune telling and ghost its really awesome hehe ... Fortune telling, failure than A ghost? Hmm.

- Nagisa! Eating, appropriately, anpan. I always sort of wondered... is this the same day as the opening scene? That scene matches Ryou's fortune, and here Nagisa is with the anpan she mentioned at the foot of the hill (her reward to herself for going to school?)

- But then Tomoya is late, and I find it hard to think that someone as responsible as Nagisa would be late to school. Then again there's nothing requiring him to have actually gone straight to school after meeting her, and she may have still been on time. I like the idea that it is the same day, so let's go with that. It makes more sense.

- And fairly quickly her story comes out. She had to repeat due to bad health, and now everyone she knows has graduated, and doesn't have any friends, and she's hesitant to apply to the one club she'd like to join because she's physically weak and doesn't know if she can handle drama. =(

- Tomoya starts cheering her on almost immediately. Again, it's really interesting to see the gap between his inner feelings and his outer actions. Maybe it's because she's an outcast as well, and so very timid at first.

- Then suddenly, a motorcycle gang! And a pretty long haired girl...
- ...who wipes the floor with them. Spectator View. XD Yay Tomoyo! Once again, there's Tomoya ready to jump in and help out. And once again... why?

- ::twitches:: How I wish I could throw DVDs into Aegisub and fix the stupid name order flipping like I can for the rare fansub that does it. Oh well. Anyway, Tomoya and Nagisa finally and formally introduce themselves to each other. About time! <3 emoticon
- Hah, Youhei makes the terrible mistake of challenging Tomoyo.

- ::tilts head:: "Hamburger?" Muahahah, I love that shot so very much. Yet again, Tomoya can't help but check in on Nagisa. He's like... unconsciously drawn to her.

- ::looks up:: "What's with the hand?" Loove that bit too. They're just amazing together.
- And Nagisa asks what I've been asking all episode: "Why are you being so nice to me?" ...he realizes he isn't even sure. Hah.

- SANAE-SAN! Yes, oh yes you are the hottest mom ever! And the best! And you're married to the best dad! Her little mannerisms when Tomoya is about to try the bread are brilliant. The excited bobbing up and down when Tomoya bends down to pick up the vile bread. The look of elation when he's about to bite down. The way her eyes close in a moment of almost fist-pumping victory when he bites into the cracker inside. And then her reaction when he tells her it's a total failure.

- "Like mother like daughter. I at least hope the father is sane." ...XD
- I love Akio'a magical never-dropping cigarette. And his endearingly overbearing attitude when talking to Tomoya.

- They get along so well already that they're renaming him! Okazaki Ginga! Even better, Daiuchuu Ginga! Then the ultimate name, Okazaki Tomoya Eternal! You can sort of see why Nagisa has turned out to be such a nice, but weird, girl.

- A heartwarming scene together with the happy, smiling Furukawa family... and then a trip back into his own dark home. What a juxtaposition.

"...If you wish, shall I take you? To the place in this town where wishes come true..." I would go absolutely anywhere you take me, Nagisa.
i really love this episode so much, it's an amazing episode, i full with satisfation and want to watch it more and more ... ^_^

- Didn't mention this last time, but the way Tomoya unconsciously replies "yes" in episode 2 to Nagisa's invitation is something I really, really love. When he sees her he's just completely swept up in her words, her pace, her beauty.

- But alas they're just lines for a play. This scene has always interested me because it's almost something of a reversal of Tomoya and Nagisa's episode one role. In episode one, Nagisa was weak, unsure, worried. Tomoya was strong, helpful, encouraging.

- But things shift radically when he sees that, despite her outward weakness, Nagisa has a much stronger foundation back at home than he has. He spends time with Nagisa's wonderful, loving family, and then returns home to his own broken house, drunk father, and lack of hope for the future. Upset, he runs out and seems unconsciously drawn to the Furukawa house, and to Nagisa.

- And when he meets her, suddenly she's the one with the sense of confidence in their conversation. She seems to have quickly taken Tomoya's encouragement to heart, and is willing to try her best against the odds to get the drama club back together. And Tomoya himself seems uplifted a little by her determination. Nagisa and Tomoya have an exceptionally symbiotic relationship in that way. It's subtle, but speaks volumes.

- We return to the "Illusionary World", this time with the girl building something, that turns out to be a robot. A robot for the disembodied voice we've been listening to? He can have the body, if only he makes the wish to be born into this desolate world. The girl beckons. What should he do?

- "I won't charge you for any repairs." Hah, so very Kyou-like. I have to mention how much I adore Hirohashi Ryou in this role. I may find (Fujibayashi) Ryou slightly more attractive than her sister, but Kyou's seiyuu totally wins for me. Hirohashi Ryou is always a delight because she's easily one of the most versatile seiyuu in the business. I just got done watching her as Alice in Aria the Natural, and here she is in a very very different role as Kyou. She handles both brilliantly.

- And Youhei is still an idiot. <3 emoticon Now we get... the kick counter! 528 hit combo! She totally juggles him. Chun Li has absolutely nothing on Tomoyo.

- Bwhaha, Tomoyo totally deadpans her delivery when dropping him down the chute. "Did I go to far?"
- A ghost that gives you a cursed item? ^_^ haha..

- But before we worry about that, we have a barefoot, purple haired beauty to meet. Ichinose Kotomi! Her theme music (BGM: "Etude Pour Les Petites Supercordes") is so cute and strange, fitting her to a T. I also think the phrase "my pace" was unknowingly invented in anticipation of Kotomi's birth. "Food and drink aren't allowed in the library!" "...Want some?" She speaks so slowly and yet manages to keep Tomoya off balance.

- "Bi?" Bwhahaha, this is one of Tomoya's greatest comedic creations. The reaction from the class is fantastic. There's this silence, and then they suddenly all react at once. I can't tell if the girl in front is disgusted, or planning how to best make a move. ...Oh who am I kidding, it's totally the latter! Ryou's reaction is great too. She cries at the drop of a hat.

- Nagisa looks depressed. Did something happen? ;_;

- She seems in high spirits again when they're making flyers. And oh crap, May 15th! That's less than two days away, I better make it on time.

- "Can I draw my favorite picture on it?" Yes, yes you can. Dango, dango, dango, dango, dango daikazoku! OHGODSOCUTE.

- Fuuko!! She has the most absurd, yet endearing, mannerisms. Nonaka Ai is a genius in this role. Especially the growling type noises. And "Dribble... shoot!"

- Tomoya is walking around school with a knife. He'd be expelled so fast.

- He walks into an awkward encounter. Nagisa just had to be there to hear what Youhei said, didn't she? I wonder who Tomoya is truly mad at here. Youhei? To an extent, sure, but it's not like Tomoya ever really did anything to give Youhei a different impression. Is he mad at himself? Or just mad in general at life. Nagisa doesn't seem too convinced with his reassurances, and it seems to have upset her a little. =/

- Things aren't any better at home, are they? Man, we're just thrown into Tomoya's problems without any explanation yet, but it's easy enough to see that there's something running really deep and bad between Tomoya and his father. It's easy to think Tomoya overreacted here, but you just know there's no way this came out of nowhere.

- And where does he find himself when he runs away? In front of Nagisa, again. She's a bit depressed too, having been left behind by her classmates again. And though she doesn't say it, you just know she's been worrying over what Youhei said.

- But the incredible symbiosis is back at work as soon as Nagisa and Tomoya meet. He cheers her up with the dango daikazoku he made. She tries to cheer him up by offering to play basketball with him after hearing that he used to be good at it.

- The time comes and it's raining. She... wouldn't be waiting, would she?

- Oh Nagisa. It's incredibly sweet of you but not very smart. Bring an umbrella at least! But at least she and we find out the real reason why Tomoya can't play basketball... and get a good glimpse into why Tomoya has such a tense relationship with his father. And then she faints. Nagisaaaaaaa ;_; ^_^

Hello everyone. Finally... i finish all episodes of clannad ~after story~. I like to comment on the episodes that caught my attention.

~ SPOILER~

Episode 16 "White Darkness" i find myself throwing in my room and saying "what the heck?! Nagisa died?! How could this be?" I was shocked that Nagisa died. I know that having a baby is a bad idea and the worst came. I can't cry because i was so shocked. I thought that i should stop watching this anime but i say this to myself that i must see this till the end.

Episode 19 "The Road Home" cracks me up. Whenever i remember Tomoya met Fuko i always ending laughing. It's the scene when Tomoya pats Fuko in the head and Fuko slaps Tomoya's hand out of her head. Tomoya repeatedly do the pat thing and Fuko repeatedly slaps i find it very very funny and cute. lol

I see there's only 1 open topic for clannad, so I'd like to comment on ~After Story~ before it gets closed too xd.

So as I started watching it, I was little bit suprised this isn't going to be real AS already after like 2nd/3rd episode. Although I pretty much liked continuation with arc's of other Clannad characters (Miyazawa's story especially). I'd divide AS in two parts, these first episodes had completely different mood from eps 9-end showing Nagisa&Tomoya life.

I agree they rushed through that arc when Nagisa was sick, but it'd be too long to watch it for 2 eps so they made good decision.
Then action speeds up and main paring is no longer only paring after 12ep; from now on we have mostly romance and drama, no one should copmlain since this is exactly romace/slice of life/drama show, if you started watching you probably knew.

akatsuki10
Episode 16 "White Darkness" i find myself throwing in my room and saying "what the heck?! Nagisa died?! How could this be?"

As for Nagisa's death I partially expected this cos it was often mentioned she has 'weak organism' and previous eps when it was coming more and more probable.

I laughted when Nagisa died o/ I hate her.

I know a lot of people that hate Nagisa but to laugh when she dies? why do you can't stand her sooo much?

Ending was as everyone expected and wanted it to be, of course could've been better I was really confused at first and needed to watch few more times to find out "what the heck happened ?!?" but overall I think it's pretty good and as-it-should-be.

I don't get people who hates Nagisa. Because she's cry too much or her character is weak? She is cute in her own way. Geez. I don't hate any clannad characters because they are all funny and have a impact in the anime. Especially butan or botan the little boar that Kyou and Ryou have around. The little boar is so cute and wow when botan grows into a big boar. I mean what the?! Botan is freaking huge.
My favorite character in the anime is Kyou-sama, because she has spank than any other girls and she can kill with a book that travels mach 2 hitting you in face, also she is beautiful. Ahh, <3 emoticonKyou-sama~ While my favorite funniest character is Fuuko especially the episode in the after story (which i forgot what number of episode is and i'm too lazy to open wikipedia) when Fuuko wakes in her long slumber. Favorite moment was i mention earlier when Tomoya pats Fuuko in the head, you know what happen next. LoL. I love that scene.

In episode 3:
- Isogai Sanako, 17 years old! BRILLIANT!
- Hahah! Oh Mei-chan. "You're so beautiful but... I feel sorry for you!" XD

- And the OP. Oh god the OP! I absolutely can't go past it without watching it multiple times.

- Twenty minutes later, I finally move on to the episode! I love the look on Mei's face when Youhei brings Sanae - I mean, ISOGAI SANAKO JYUUNANA-SAI - to some cheap looking place. But IS17's mothering instincts kick in and it's time for a delicious meal =D Where did she get that food from in a dorm anyway?

- Ahahaha, Mei is the best imouto ever! EVER! Every time she sees how nice Sanako is, she starts crying and apologizing.

- Also, did they bring in some of the main Lucky Star team on board for this episode or something? A lot of the "cute" scenes have the really soft puni-puni kinda feel to the characters faces, expressions and movements that I absolutely love about that show. I'm honstly taken aback at how incredibly well it works here, especially with Mei.

- For example, this shot of Tomoya laughing, sitting next to Nagisa. Oh god they both look unbelievably cute right now, I just want to hug them forever.

- Sanae's "kyaah~" when Youhei puts the headphones on her to listen to his odd choice of music was great~

- Youhei and Mei's reaction to the two lost children is hard to read. Is Youhei being callous for the sake of being callous? I sincerely doubt it, but why did he brush it off then? Mei also stopped Tomoya and Nagisa from doing anything, because it seemed like she expected Youhei would.

- Or was she just seeing what he would do? She definitely didn't like his reaction at all... I suppose he feels like he and Mei have had to get by on their own (have they? We don't really know their family situation but we do know he cares about Mei a lot) and if nobody gave them a helping hand then others can pull themselves up as well. At any rate I'm even more interested in those two now.

- "And a toilet cover!" Youhei is sparkling! XD But he's utterly head over heels for Sanae. Like, dangerously so. On the one hand it's having the effect Sanae hoped for. He's rethinking his goals, dreams, his current situation. On the other hand he's just set up for an even worse fall when this all comes apart. And a lot of the blame rests on Tomoya's shoulders, honestly.

- ...Which I think Tomoya just now suddenly realized.
- ;_; Oh god, Mei. ;_; She's really feeling like her brother is being stolen away and is disappointed with seeing what having a girlfriend would do so Youhei. Of course we also see the look on Youhei's face when Mei pretends to have a boy she's meeting. God she's so cute. I didn't think Mei could get cuter, but she did.

- Second part!
- So Mei did know, or at least assumed it was all a ruse. She also explains their reactions during that lost kids scene. It's not that Youhei and Mei were on their own, or that Youhei was being considerate in his own way...
he was just being genuinely callous about it and that's what hurts Mei so much. The brother she knows would never have stood for that just to spend time with a girl.

- Hah! Akio sees Sanae! And he knows it's her immediately because only Akio is man enough to be Sanae's husband! Sorry Youhei...

- Ahahah, Mei miming the actions was gold, and then Tomoya totally throws Nagisa under the bus. Poor Nagisa, I can only imagine how much she's stammering right now trying to stall for time with Akio.

- Oh wow, Tomoya, you playboy you. Now he's on a date with Mei! ...I wanna go on a date with Mei too... And he says she should pretend he's her brother!

- But oh god, he completely underestimated her imouto powers. From the first onii-chan, he's fucking KO'd. Honestly, who wouldn't be?

- And the scene only gets better. KotoRyouKyou go running away in fear. XD Tomoya can't decide if he wants Mei to do it or not. And then, KINSHiI!!! Clannad truly is one of the funniest damn shis ever. Also, Tamura Yukari should voice ever imouto ever. Mei is now my favorite non-Nanoha role of hers, ever. You just KNOW Mei was having so much fun just now.

- And seeing Kotomi hanging out with Ryou and Kyou like normal friends makes me smile soo much.

- IMOUTO-SAMA WANTS THE PRINCESS CREPE. YOU BUY HER THE FUCKING PRINCESS CREPE. NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

- ICHIGOOO~~ > <
- Oh that is a scary looking Youhei. Looks like Sanae told him the truth. And now he's about to take it out on Mei and... Holy shit, Tomoya, what are you doing? This doesn't seem like his usual pranking, though. The look on Youhei's face should make it clear that this isn't the time for such things.

- Right, he was trying to provoke Youhei and get him to come after Mei, but yet again Youhei refuses.

This is turning into an absolutely incredible arc. How many shows would ever give this much quality development to the male lead's best friend and that friend's sister? And for it to be this good is just unbelievable.

Time to rewatch this episode (even though I effectively have already given all the times I rewound scenes and rewatched. I started this episode two and a half hours ago and just finished!

- But before I can start episode four, I need to rewatch episode three again... and this lovely lovely OP. I can never watch it once, because it's like revving up an engine.I watch it once to get into the mood, twice to get speed up, thrice to hit peak speed, and then an indeterminate number of times thereafter until I can break the trance it puts me in. <3 emoticon

- ::dies from imouto overload:: Oh my lord episode three is fantastic. Now for ep 4.
- Kyou-chan ijimekko~ Haha, oh Kotomi.
- Oh fuck those soccer club guys. Fuck them hard with a stick of dynamite. Who the hell would want to ve involved with them? Ugh. They even insulted Nagisa, arrrrrrgh. That definitely pissed Tomoya off, and me as well.

- Good for Yukine, she gets Mei to realize (I hope) that soccer isn't the only way to turn Youhei around. To hell with soccer.

- Or not. She's still on about soccer. I really feel like she's missing the point. Soccer might make him shape up, but not soccer with them. They're not the kind of people who allow someone to grow and develop as a person. As for Tomoya, god I wish he'd just slug Youhei. Soccer won't bring him back to his senses, but maybe a fist to the face will.

- More love for Nagisa, oh so much love for Nagisa. I love how she thinks this through rationally and reminds him that if he gets in a fight, someone has to be there to protect Mei and get her out of there.

- Gah, watching them work like dogs for these taint cancers makes me so mad. They can't be allowed to get away with this. The whole thing infuriates me and makes no sense at all.

- Oh holy shit. Fuck yeah for Tomoya and Youhei fucking up the soccer club! =D At least for a little while, clearly they succumbed to pure numbers eventually. And then their fight afterwards, that was seriously awesome stuff.
We haven't seen an emotional high point so far in this show that revolved around beating the shit out of each other, seeing as how it usually involved a girl...
This was great though, and I love how Youhei finally came out with his reasoning - he thought Mei would be okay if her boyfriend were Tomoya. Youhei, you idiot. Man, that was brutal though. Awesome.

- Heh, they look awful. It's like they found a way to get three black eyes.
- Whaaaaaat? Youhei still doesn't know about Sanae being Nagisa's mother. But then, what had him so pissed off when he saw Mei with Tomoya? Maybe his date with Sanae went fine, but he was still worried about Mei, hence the angry look on his face when he met them.

- Well that went about how I expected.

Heh, I think this Sunohara siblings arc was paced pretty much perfectly. It only took up three episodes of the show, but did a great job fleshing out Mei and Youhei and even Tomoya as well. Sure it ended a bit abruptly and there were a few weird leaps of logic in there - why was Youhei's first reaction "What about Nagisa?" instead of "But Mei is like 12!" [or whatever]? - but that's not really a problem in this case.

Especially since it looks like we're indeed getting a Misae arc next. Now that should be very interesting.

- Time for episode five! By which I mean rewatching episode 4 first. Especially this time since my first viewing was with the inferior version. It's a shame the widescreen isn't just a week behind, else I could rewatch the previous ep in widescreen each week before moving to the new one. Then again it might just feel like a step down when I move to the new 4:3 ep...

- Done rewatch. It's amazing what a better translation can do. Everything flowed much better, phrases were more expressive of the situation. Hopefully I get more weeks like this than the pain that was last week, because I'd definitely accept waiting ~18 or so hours to get it. And I managed to hold myself to only three OP viewings!

- Ah yes, with an arc done, it's time for the girl and the robot again. You know, this girl is quite the little engineer. That see-saw looks kind of complex. And when they first showed it, I thought she'd set up some sort of heavy artilery. Her: "Let's try it out." Me: "o_O!? Has this lonely world finally sent her off the deep end?"

- But as usual, beautiful imagery and interesting dialog. The robot keeps talking about the lights, wondering if the shadows they cast means they have a 'body' elsewhere. My personal favored interpretation is that each of those lights corresponds to one of those lighted orbs we see in the title card to mark story arcs. As there are countless lights, it's obviously more than just the 8 or so number related to Clannad characters.

Indeed, I think the girl and the robot exist in a place where all the world's dreams, hopes and lives, symbolized by the orbs/lights, end up or at least pass through. Maybe it is the end of the world, maybe it's the afterlife, most likely it's something completely different, but I definitely feel the two are linked. [And anyone who played the game and tries to give an unasked-for confirmation or denial of my speculation will be lynched and gutted immediately.]

- Four more OP watches. I still get tingly when the "itsumademo oboeteru nanomi kamo kawattemo..." part starts. damn I love Lia.
