Just wondering...are you guys reading the scanlations? Or buying the actual manga?

Oh joy...finally ordered volumes 4 to 7 from Kinokuniya Bookweb service (I'm expecting them to deliver the books to my office tomorrow based on what they told me over the phone). But I will have to buy volumes 3, 8 and 9 physically from Borders as Kinokuniya does not have them in stock (ouch!).

I read scanlations, yes, but I intend to buy the volumes. By the way Claymore Extra Scene 1 is better than Extra Scene 2. Miria's past was kinda boring compared to Teresa's encounter with Rosemary.

I don't think ch. 74 is out yet; I haven't been able to find it, but then again, I'm not looking that hard. And yes, I read the scanlations, because my neighborhood Borders Express doesn't stock volumes reliably, and scanlations are always further ahead.

Well, I'm reading the scanlations and gonna buy the manga. I'll probably end up buying them after the manga is finished.

Unlike greengum, I liked ES 2 better then ES 1. It was nice to find out who Miria's friend was and how it led up to the point when Miria almost awakened.

I think ES 2 is kinda boring compared to ES1 since we already knew what kinda happened in ES 2 before. so it isn't really new. we didn't get to know that much more about miria except maybe for the fact that her friend is a former single digit and that miria was formerly number 17.

I just started to read Claymore and the artwork's amazing sometimes, as to be expected from a month's worth of drawing/scheming. Most the new characters in the new arc are total idiots. I prefer

How could Clarice possibly get her sword stuck in a tree? Audrey and Rachel are total idiots for underestimating Riful and thinking that a number 3 and 5 like them could ever take on an Abysmal One without even realizing the power difference. As for Miata, I wonder if she'll ever snap out of that mental instability and notice that Clarice is not her real mother. I just hope she doesn't end up awakening in the end and turning into another Priscilla.

Currently reading scanlations since they're ahead, but I'll eventually buy the official manga.

well, loved teresa too of course, but ES1 was DBZ-flavored junk where they just argued whos more kickass... snore
its also odd that teresa shattered an awakened no1 claymore with no effort
i mean, hello, former no1 are abyssals by definition fer cryin out loud, no claymore is match for those, not alone
right, rosemary was no2 by then... so lets review what an awakened priscilla was like or how strong flash sword irene/ilene could be after awakening

its kinda nice to see how exactly the anime is following the manga so far, but the flash-flash-arm-falls-off battle design is a serious drag, even though it is very close to manga in the picture-after-picture aspect...
the animes main trump over its manga should be "animation", or at least thats what i believe

and please stop nagging on clarice
at least she knows her limits and doesnt do the fearless hero thing raki always did (for now)
surely, shes much weaker than your average claymore, but i believe that the tree incident happened due to the pills they were taking, which would explain the surprised look clarice had when it happened
you can easily forget some sideeffects in the heat of battle after a surprise attack
it can seriously confuse you if you get attacked by a large number of yoma you couldnt possibly sense
also note that even clare couldnt win against such a large group of yoma as miata and clarice encountered in the forest only a few volumes back, so clarice aint that weak for her rank actually
additionally, bout 50% of clares battle capacitie now are actually irenes/ilenes arm

Chapter 74 Will be out after the Extra Scenes. There are 5 extra scenes. It is to my knowledge that the manga will release Chapter 74 somewhere around Sept/Oct but no word has its confirmation from my contacts other than the extra scenes.

Chinese manga is out till book 14 already. You can get it only by ordering, I got mine through Star Bookstores. I had to ask them to deliver it from Hong Kong

considering that books contain 4-6 chapters, id say that book 13 is complete and nothing of 14 is out yet... so how come?

I'm sure it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Omni was referring to the mandarin translated Claymore manga. Mandarin translated versions tend to be faster as compared to their English counterparts due to manga being a huge and competitive industry in Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia and also manga being easier to translate into Chinese than English.

That might be true, but still the japanese original is needed to translate it into anything

Be sure to check your torrents, there are already really Low Quality scans available (with ripped pages at the side, yellow and dirty edges and everything else)

by the way, it is book 14 for chinese manga version because the book is thinner, there are lesser chapters within one book, and you get it slightly faster than the release of english ones.

On subject of the torrented versions, you also get sometimes that a chinese version may call chapters in book 13 as 14. Due to the speed of their translate, they are brutal and they don't check for identification, so like it or not, you tend to mess up. So far, the one I got is from chinese torrent site. There is also the problem of translations, some of the characters changes names halfway, there is also distortion and I highly recommend against downloading them. Plus... I might wonder if it is illegal lol.

if you can read chinese, look for "Da Jian" in chinese letters, you might be able to catch the torrent somewhere, mine was a random search and download. Like Dias said, it is easier to obtain chinese ones any time as soon, in fact, the speed of the Japanese releases are only by ONE day sometimes, that means as soon as the publication is available, the manga is scanlated the next day and released.

the way you describe it, the chinese version is a disgrace as most of their cheap products and not worh much effort
also, did you just say that the chinese books are thinner and messed up? they can have as many volumes as they want then and it wont make a difference
i mean, does that chinese vol14 of yours include content beyond chapter 73?

Lol mad, not sure if you realized that what you saying might be really offensive to some people.

Volume 14 might be shorter because there are less chapters, the chinese version I'd imagine would still be the japanese raw with the translations in chinese with it, they wouldn't cut out any pages.

Anywho, does anyone have any speculations on what they think will happen in the new volume? Now that Clare and Miria and co. revealed themselves, I wonder if the organization would dispatch some single digits to finish them off. Maybe Raki's gotten to learn some new skills with Isley.
