also, did you just say that the chinese books are thinner and messed up? they can have as many volumes as they want then and it wont make a difference

I stated the volumes released in the market for sale is up till book 14.
Each book has about 4 chapters in general, sometimes more, sometimes less. It is not authentic to the bone, but generally, the quality is readable and likewise, no missing pages, all sound effects, all scenes where including multiple japanese letters as explanation, or side lines, are in original language untranslated. However, I certainly do not consider them cheap products, at least they are readable.

Think about this, months from now, you can finally obtain the english version, in book form, and I would have already had the chinese one, haha, possibly 2 months ahead of yours. Plus, I get it cheaper, and the book quality of the authentic versions are better if not just as good as the english, plus! I GET POSTERS! YAY!.

Colored pages are there too. All in good time, and now I am happy to read up till chapter 73. and yes, all the fast translated ones, (in book 14 so far) contains exactly up till chapter 73. So you are right when you say, it is not as good, but I have it in book form.

I have just started to collect this series. I'm only up to vol 4 of the english version. My friendly comic store orders it in for me from Viz comics. I am hooked! I really love it! Great artwork and a fantastic story. Can't wait for the next volumes to become available. So far Clare is my favourite Claymore but I like Tersa too. I have seen a few of the anime episodes and I have to ask, is Clare a little more "developed" in the anime?

imho, vol1-2 are a looong useless introduction - everything begins with teresa in vol3
then again, it is true that i cant really get myself to like clare too much... i find her stereotypical, but not irritating or boring and she does develop somehow...
what gets my interest much more are charas like miria, helen, deneve, galatea and such... none of which you know yet i presume
the anime basically follows the manga like a shadow up to the northern campaign, where minor differences start to apper, the peak being the recent ep20

Oh wow! You have certainly captured my interest. I will definately stick with this series. Sounds like I have a lot to look forward too. I would like to find out more about the different Claymores you mention. I've seen pictures of a few of them on the Net. We are up to Vol 9 of the manga in NZ or so at the moment so it looks like I have a long way to go to catch up.

I totally like this manga, the only problem is that it being translated a little slow.

People use to complain about the art but I think the story totally make up for it. Plus right now the art is getting a lot better too.
The story that I am read up until is very interesting though, I wonder what will happen next. Seem like Clay is really getting stronger so the rest of the team.
The current number is crazy, for number one and two we still haven't see much action yet but we are sure that they are strong. Being able to take like 10 awaken one just like that. Crazy stuff, but totally a great manga!

and since youre at ch72 id say youre reading fanmade scanlations, which seem more like lightspeed to me, double lightspeed compared to the official translation
ch73 is the last so far and scanlators sadly have no influence on the author himself

Well, I've just discovered Galatea, and I think she is awesome! She could easily be my new favourite Claymore. I really think she is a great character. Nothing seems to phase her so far.

The creator, Norihiro Yagi, is certainly one for fast improvement. If you read his first manga, Angel Densetsu, the improvement in the art from the first volume to the forth or fifth is amazing. It's almost unrecognizable, going from rather crude to far cleaner. Claymore is the same, where you can see him learning how to render a good fight scene from volume to volume. Hold up the stiff and awkward fights in Darkness in Paradise against the far sharper ones of War in the North, and you'll see what I mean.

One thing for sure Teresa of faint smile is a monster herself without awakened can Killa awakened former rank 1 omg even the rosemary got scared out of her when teresa when all out to rosemary. and rapheal is not the stronger claymore bec. killing her older sis a absysmal one she just take the advantage and stab her sister on the back while so weak at that current state. as for clare she she'll awesome awakened her limbs and after 7 years she learn the wind cutter and no single claymore can use 2 different techniques. and it seem clare has done the soul link even without noticing and maybe the org knows already about it and that's why there scared of clare. about the new generation of claymore it seem they s*cked on fight probably low experience on fighting awakened being by the way the new rank 3 and 6 the one who tried to kill riful dam* they s*ck too being to pribe on themself to think they can kill riful hahahaha theyre even weak if the past clare fights them they wont stand a chance to clare to full of themself and got knock out in the end I hate those kind of attitude.

Chapter 73 for me, also read the two extra chapters of course.
great series i must say, i'm really looking forward to the next chapter.

Does anyone know where I can view the claymore extra scenes? I can't find it anywhere...

Onemanga.com has the extra scenes.....But damn, i heard the next new scene was going to come out in like.....November sometime, by next scene i mean 74. And here I thought the scanlators had stopped translating them. But I agree with what people have said about the mangaka, Claymore just gets better and better, and the twists are pretty damn good too. But then again, isnt it like that for all mangaka? Lets take Eyeshield for example, like first chapter the illistration and progression is so confusing and distorted, but as it went on, it go so much better. :P
