Hey, anyone cheering for Claymore season 2... LISTEN UP!
(sorry for being off topic about the ending)
It is true that if season 2 is ever gonna come out, it will be between 2010 to 2012. (judging from the volume of mangas used to make 26 eps.)
However, season 2 is not guaranteed to come out since the anime wasn't so popular in Japan.
When I was researching about claymore season 2, I came across an interesting forum. It was told from someone who met Hiroyuki Tanaka (Claymore's director) and he asked if there will ever be a season 2?
Hiroyuki said that he would love to continue making the series but it is not up to him or Madhouse studio to decide. It all depends on the people who finance the making of the anime.
I think this is a good sign, we should all buy a real DVD and search up Claymore on the net like crazy. This way, we can showed a good response for the investing people.
I don't know if the forum is reliable but I think it makes a lot of sense.

Okay, I finally had time to finish the series and I felt that the ending left to many openings. I know that the manga is still ongoing. I just hope that this does not turn into another series like Hellsing where they do not continue the story and they leave their fans hanging.

I really liked the ending but it does leaves too many questions unanswered, I think they don't have enough elements to make a great second season so a new plot would be necessary for the second season. In final I’d say it's a semi-ending, it does conclude a part of the story but only partially not quite conclusive enough and not completely satisfying...

Like the previous poster said, I too enjoyed the ending, but felt that it left a little too much unanswered. Im not sure if this is on purpose to let the viewer fill in the blanks, or they intend to continue it. Either way, I still enjoyed it.

A season 2 might come, but then probably not for a really LONG time as the manga needs to catch up first...even though the ending was directly off course...lol

Alright now I'm a bit lazy when it comes to reading. So I have skipped 10 pages of posts, I read the first and the last page. So If I somehow insult, or say something already said, I'm sorry. Now when this is said. I will now come with my conclusion.
But erm, this may a bit of a longer post then I thought of originally. And since this is not a discussion of the anime as in whole but just the ending I will leave it at that, And wont go to deep into the plot of the Anime/Manga
Now to what I think~ Finally you might think.
I watched the Anime, And I was really thrilled and I concluded there would be a second season, but then I read that the ending didn't follow the manga and the person said because of that there may not be a second season. Its only one person I've heard saying that. So I still really hope there will be and second season and that the Anime somehow will make it through without following the Manga, because this ending really did twist up the Manga's plot. And the manga's plot CANNOT be used again due to the ending in the Anime. Now I'm trying to not to spoil anything but I might, and I'm sorry. I will not be intending to spoil anything, and will refrain from saying how things happen, there may be a spoiler blanket later. Now I assume you all have watched the Anime, So I'm going to spoil some things if you have not seen the Anime. Now Clare have beaten the Silver-Eyed Lion King Rigardo (I probably spelt the name wrong)
She is trying to control her Yoki release, she feels Priscilla presence away in the distance, and then she really snaps. She goes after her, and the surviving Claymore’s that had a more "Deeply" relationship with Clare goes after her. When they come they see Clare fighting Priscilla, and Miria, Deneve and Helen decide to join in to help Clare, they all get beaten up pretty badly. Jean follows and meets Raki on the way, and you would probably remember the rest, at the ending they split up. Helen and Deneve is sitting at some ruins, they are going to train, Miria leaves and is going to train as well, (I assume) Clare I'm a little uncertain of, since she is just leaving with Raki as she has buried Jean. But as she leaves, Clare is thinking of something like and I quote to my best content "Teresa, I'm alive, would you tell me this is all right." And she turns, Teresa's Spirit shows up, and she says something like "Live as a human, among humans." Now to the tricky part, The Organization has been told by I think it’s Galatea, that she couldn't feel their Yoki Anymore. And that is like saying "They're dead".
And not in the manga, this has been said in a previous post, but I'm still going to say it. Spoilers incoming for those who haven't read the manga, and this is at the point in the manga where the Anime ends, I'm going a little further than what the Anime did show.
Now I'm going to say something about the manga, and I'm going to put all of what I think of the manga in a spoiler banner so it’s going to get pretty large. And really do open at own risk. Now some of this had already been said by someone, but I'm still going to say it. So I'm going to start at where the Anime and the Manga change course. And I'm going a little further than the Anime is showing, but I'm not going to go very far in the manga's plot. Now this is said let’s begin with it. Again This spoiler banner is going to be LARGE so open at own risk.

Alright let’s get this on a roll, Now we are in Pieta the city near the border to the southern lands. Clare is awakening and is fighting "The Silver-Eyed Lion King Rigardo," And she wins, and as she can’t control her Yoki flow, she wants Helen to kill her, as she still has a human heart. Jean she stops Helen from doing that and sacrifices her life in order for Clare to return to her "Original" state, (Now in the manga she doesn't feel Priscilla Yoki and goes berserk.) They are now surrounded by multiple Awakened Beings, You don't see them fight, But you see Ishley and Priscilla and Raki, then Priscilla says something like "There, another light went out" And Raki just stares dumbfounded at her, then Ishley repeats her, and says "They go out one after another, there is only one left. There, it went out aswell" Raki ask about it, and Ishley replies to the question it’s something far away. Now 7 Years have passed and you see a girl named Clarice she is Number 47, and she is going to her first Awakened Being hunt. She meets up with the group and they go to the Northern lands, They meet a Awakened Being and they almost kill him but then he gets backup from to other Awakened Beings. Then Suddenly the four Claymore's are knocked unconsciousness and then you see (I think its 3 women with hoods on) They save the four Claymore's and leave the scene, then Clarice awakens (from her unconsciousness’s) and see 17 Claymore's swords (They mark graves) and she see there is missing seven (as you know there were 24 warriors sent to the north.) You skip to the next scene, Where you see Deneve, Helen, Miria, Clare, Cynthia,Tabitha,Uma. The Seven surviving Claymore's of the battle seven years ago, they have suppressed their Yoki for seven years, they have gotten much stronger they can now all match a single digit Claymore's fighting potential. Clare now wants to travel back to the southern lands to find Raki, Miria first disagrees and they fight each other without releasing ANY Yoki, Miria have gotten a lot faster, and Clare have learned Flora's WIndcutter(Fast draw) technique, Then they stop their fighting and they all seven goes. (They are all on a mission of vengeance) Now I've left some key moments out.

Alright, for those who haven't read the manga you should really do it. At first I thought the manga was meaningless, then I started reading and then I liked the manga's plot more than I did with the Anime. And I really recommend it! Now I knew it would be a long post, have luckily for those who hate reading a lot this is only concerning the ending (most of the time) If it was all around I would've written much more. Now my computer messed up halfway through the post so, there might be some major mistakes and if a sentence doesn't make any sense at all feel free to tell me about. Now as this post is coming to an end. I'm just going to say, Good anime, Good manga, I really hope there is going to be a second season of the anime! Thank you for your time.

It's not completely dead, but as you may know, Claymore is not a very famous anime, so there are few fans, compared to other series like Bleach or Death Note. So replies here are not that often.

Now about your post, I read most of it, except for the manga spoilers, obviously because I haven't read the manga (though I'm kind of familiarized with what's going on there) and I felt like... well maybe it's just me, but I kinda thought that all that huge, long post, said absolutely nothing. I mean, yes, you told us the whole ending thing, but everyone reading this thread has already watched it, I presume. And I suppose that the manga spoiler is almost the same thing (just tell the tale). What I mean is that you didn't add any opinion or new information, theory or whatever to the thread. Asides from the anime and manga spoilers, you used 3 whole paragraphs explaining why your post was so long, and about your messed-up computer, and how much you expect for a second season and so on, and so on.

What I'm saying is that you did not make the tiniest contribution to the thread, you didn't even answer the simple question "did you like the ending or not, and why?" that is the whole point for the thread.

Maybe that's why nobody has replied to your post, because there's nothing to reply, nothing to retort, nothing to agree or disagree with. Just a uselessly-long post.

Well I Kinda appreciate that you told me instead of burning up with hate or something, Sorry, I don't know what I was thinking of. I didn't like the ending because it doesn't follow the "original" plot Which I liked way more. And I thought it was kinda over powered that she just turned back at that stage after she had fought Priscilla She was (what it seems to me) 80 Awakened if not more. I know she can control it if she has a strong mind but, there has to be a limit to it. (please look away from her being the main character) But somewhat I liked the ending when I hadn't read the manga, because it looked like there would be a second season, and that they would train and get stronger etc.

The ending the first go around left me a bit disappointed. There's this huge build up to killing Priscilla and when it's foiled by Raki, well things just took a turn for the cliche. Having read the manga and seeing all the events that unfolded past The Battle of the North, the way Claymore ended was poorly done.
