Why did you like Code Geass
Geass (ギアス, giasu?), also referred to as the Power of Kings (王の力, Ō no Chikara?), is a mysterious ability which certain people can bestow upon others (the word itself potentially being an intentional corruption of geas or geis, a type of magical contract in Irish mythology). According to an English edition of Newtype, the power of Geass has something to do with the very existence of humankind and it may be used to destroy or transform just about anything.[10] It is represented by a bird-shaped symbol which glows red when active.
A Geass is set as a contract between an immortal and a human who receives a unique power. It manifests in one eye, and with continued use increases in power, eventually becoming uncontrollable and spreading to both eyes. When a Geass is at full power, a person can then become a recipient of the immortal's "Code", that which grants them their power. This new immortal receives the Geass mark somewhere on their body, immunity to Geass, and the ability to make their own contracts with others, while the giver is allowed to die (perpetuating an endless cycle). This process is not necessarily consensual, as C.C. received her Code and V.V. had his taken away against their wills.
Every Geass power has its own unique set of both abilities and limitations (for example, Lelouch's power can only be used once on a given person), allowing for their defeat or victory by someone who is aware of its characteristics. Further understanding of the power of Geass even leads to the development of a device that can undo its effects. All Geass abilities that have thus far appeared within canon of the television series have been related to the mind, influencing things such as emotion, perception, and memory.

Cool story bro :D
Although I haven't watched it all, so far, I like the grand nature of the series, how just one person is seemingly taking on an empire... Lelouch's preparedness and sharpness really stood out for me at least... but then he used the Geass and removed that girl's memories, which was really what made me lose interest for some reason...

I love Code Geass because of the artwork. It's very different from the manga but I think I prefer the anime better. The voice actors were great (GO Jun Fukuyama!). I think it's also because of the storyline. Lelouch knows he's doing something evil, but he still does it in order to change a world that he's not happy in. He takes full responsibility for his actions in the end for all the people he has hurt and killed. We don't see that often in anime or society today.

I loved the dramatic parts about it and sudden twists in the storyline. Lelouch really blew my mind out I was literally keeping my mouth open in awe of what Lelouch would always do it was exciting to watch.

I like CG probably because Lulu is so awesome, so is CC of course, and I love how Milly is always creating all these inane plots just for laughs, and all the battles and how Zero is played out. It's awesome.

If you ask me has my opinon of an anime ever changed on a second or third viewing? than i will answer that at first i watched it I thought Code Geass was pretty much the craziest thing ever, with the massive one upmanship that broke believability pretty much every episode. Been watching it again on cartoon network recently and I think my opinon of it has changed.
If you can get past the crazy one upmanship (I admit a very big step) there is some good character development and thought provoking story here. I could debate for a good long time the morality of zero's actions and even the efficacy of them, how long will it take before someone tries to be as evil as he was for real again, how long will his taking the hatred of the world onto himself hold? may do that in another thread. Proably will get no hits though heh.
Here just wanted to own up to now liking it and ask if your opinion of an anime has ever changed once you rewatched it. Find one you thought was great turned out not to be or more interestingly one you hated but watched again and grew to love?
There are times re-watching leads to a more positive opinion and times it leads to a more negative opinion. I think a lot of it is the result of the following factors which can make a lot of difference.
The first would be anticipation vs dread. The more often I find myself anticipating re-watching a scene the better a show holds up. The more often I find myself dreading re-watching a scene the worse a show holds up. I think that's the best way to put it.
Sometimes shows work better the second time around because familiarity with the story gives you a better idea what to expect. It also allows you to watch with a more realistic mood. Also knowing what happens later can sometimes give a better appreciation for what happened earlier.
As for actual shows where my opinion either improved or worsened? Right now two shows come to mind. One being for the latter and the other for the former.
Air is a case of where my opinion improved the second time around. I think part of it had to do with being a stronger fan of KEY than I was originally. There's also the fact I might have been more accepting of the story structure than I was before.
Love Hina is a case where I became more negative. I found myself wanting to skip scenes and dreading what was coming up. I spent too much time thinking "Oh crap, another abuse mode scene is probably coming up" and that made it harder to watch.
Save Me Lollipop is a strange one. In some ways my opinion worsened and in other ways it improved. Such is the nature of going from not understanding the dialogue to know what's actually being said.

The characters (most of them anyway) were awesome and the story was just as awesome. Plus CLAMP always has win character designs.

There are many reasons, but the most i liked was from the first season, all those plans made by Lelouch, more less like Light Yagami from Death Note. They were brillant and i enjoyed the face of the enemy with those unexpected plans of him.
The characters design was great, a mix from CLAMP and Scryed. And was well balanced, even had really funny moments!.

A friend strongly recommened that I watch Code Geass, so I decided to give in and check it out. I'm SO glad I did! I finished the series last night and I'm still feeling moved by it.
The first episode was enough to pull me in, and make me want to know what happened next. It was refreshing to see a main character who wasn't all sweet and clueless. Anime like Code Geass are a bit too fast-paced for me, with all the politics and strageies and whos-who. I didn't catch a lot of the details. But in the end I finally saw the whole picture and that was when I truly appreciated the series. Up until the end I couldn't understand a lot of Lelouch's actions, and though he did a lot of horrible things, I respect him for what he did at the end. It was beautiful. All hail Lelouch!

In response to Colliwog, I disliked it for the exact opposite reason. I felt the series was just too slow paced. I got bored with it and only occasionally would check the progress out of boredom. In the end though, I thought that it all came together and that there was more to draw me to Lelouch, but it took forever to get me to that point. I need a faster pace to keep my interest.
Well myopinion why it is that good is that Code Geass isnt a everyday anime.
It has a unique Story with a lot of different emotions in it wich makes me personaly wanna more.
The Animation is great and the whole anime Conept is someting Totally knew even if it reminds me kinda on Death not and Gundam Seed but still i enjoed every single episode

Ah well... where should I start...
At first I didn't like this show as in *favorite*. I only watched it for gar Lelouch and awesome background music. I also fell in love with Kallen and Suzaku, maybe because I can relate to both of them (and I'm a sucker for this character trio, I ALWAYS fall for characters like this...).
BUT! Some weeks ago, I grabbed this series episodes and watched them all over again. I was pleased I did so, because now I REALLY like Code Geass as one of my favorite series!
Starting with the general concept, we have a story line focusing on an anti-hero. Not only that, but an abnormal anti-hero. I don't think I've ever seen a character like Lelouch before~ This series has the potential to be something quite epic depending on how season 2 ends.
Then we have the characters. Geass (as general anime series) has a whole bunch of characters. When I watched it for the first time, I didn't quite care about other characters... Maybe because I was being driven by a friend of mine (who introduced me to the show actually) who only cared about Lelouch and Shirley. But right now, I think I love C.C. who's the most intriguing character in Geass. She kicks so much ass ;_; I'm also loving the entire cast now~ Except for Nina perhaps, I really hate her (she's so racist...). Either way, the way the characters interact is really cool - we kind of get attached to them. Also, Lelouch is quite interesting too. I love the way his character develops here - he's really *human* and makes mistakes as everyone else. In fact, everyone fails in Geass XD Except for C.C. (pizza).
Then we have the animation quality~ It gets better as the show goes by ;_;
The soundtrack is amazing too! I never thought Latin rythems would fit so nicely with mechas. Seriously. Nakagawa-san did an amazing job with this one, I really like those tracks.
I also like the character design, even though Lulu lacks some sense of fashion. I liked the original CLAMP designs better.
I really think this is a good show~ Doesn't have *way too much* fan service and has an interesting plot. Just a shame that ending, let's wait for second season!
