Everyone hate Susaku?

I hated him from the start pretty much, in episode 1 and 2 when they destroyed the ghetto and were slaughtering the people and he gets his lancelot, he knew there was no poison gas in that truck, he knew it was a kidnapped girl that the rebels had stolen from the army. and yet he let the lie go on and did not even seem to notice that britiannia was happily trashing the 11s terrorists and civilians alike, and demolishing whole blocks of the city.
and at the very very end, when lulu finds out his sister is indeed alive and being held by schnizel, who is it that grabs lulu by the collar shakes him and basically threatens him, but his BFF suzaku.
granted C2 has done her share of poking prodding and even scolding but she has been with him from the start and by now she knows nothing will stop him but at times he needs a shoulder to lean on to gain some sanity and strength. but good old suzaku comes in and thinks he needs to threaten lulu to keep him on track, bff indeed.
no suzaku started as a lying hyppocrit, ended maybe a tad better since i think at the 12th hour when he finally ran lulu thru with a sword as he was asked to, finally got what shirley, and yuffie, and C2, and orange, and kullen, and his super maid got for so long.
and the biggest irony is the people that should have known him best his sister and his best friend, the people he should have been able to lean on were the people that turned on him the easiest.
far as rolo goes, he was a murderous psychopath, but you could feel some sympathy for his twisted soul being he was taken in by v2 trained to kill and given geass when he was like 6 years old. so you could understand why he was the way he was. but killing shirley and then having every intention of killing nunally and hell he probably would have killed c2 if he could, since by this time c2 and lulu are pretty darn close. he wanted nothing and noone close to his "brother" but him.

I don't hate Suzaku compared to some characters I've came across in the series. It just that he's so naive and actually believes in such childish philosophy. I guess majorly i didn't like him because he kept getting in Lelouch's way.
Despite the fact that there were a lot of characters I really didn't like, I still finished to the end. It's like you want to stop, but can't cuz you really want to know what happens next.

my my, i totally understand you, it did somehow feel the same, hmm would be fun to know which are the characters you hated though, i hated Kallen, cause in the end it was just about her body, to me, her personality is just like those other anime girls who falls for the hero and bla bla bla, i hated Shirley, they made her personality look quite empty too, that kid Rolo, cause he ended being manipulated so easily psychologically, people with psychological traumas don't get used this way, pfff they make it sound so logical and so straight, what is straight and logic about a trauma? I did hate a little C.C around end of season 1, a witch who lived so many years can barely have feeling, even me who lived 20 years i got so sick and tired that i got almost numb to everything, >____< what kept me stick to code geass then, the plot, the turn of events, which showed how life can be mean, and the actions of Lelouch and Susaku which even if planned, always hold a variable, which is a fact of real life, humans can't be manipulated so easily, and of course i don't agree so much with the beautiful ending, a world made of so many people who did allow racism and so many wars like that, how can they just turn into some peaceful civilisation through someone's death, but that's just my point, i still did appreciate the anime, like i mentioned in the start of the thread, the only thing that bugged me mainly, and which bugs me with almost all animes lately, it's this need to put e scenes thinking it's a "must" or something into modern animes, and then, instead of putting efforts in the right scene, they turn out to be lazy scenes while they put emphasis to show anatomies of such and such, what a lifeblackmokonaI don't hate Suzaku compared to some characters I've came across in the series. I not as much as hate, but just kinda didn't like him much at the beginning. Though gradually, it got better in the second season as he came to lelouch's side. Think I just don't take a good liking to the characters on the opposing side of the main character.
In my opinion, Suzaku, regardless of how he justifies himself, saying that he want to change Japan from within Britania itself, is no different than the one he always called "demon", Lelouch.
In fact, what they are doing are exactly the same, except that they are doing it from a different point of view. One from within and the other from without. Suzaku really did become hateful at the beginning of season 2. And I was, like, laughing out loud when he was beaten up by Karren. Well, he deserved it.(_/)..

Both Lelouch and Suzaku had major contradictions going on, but even though I wanted to shake him sometimes for just how....... well, dumb and naive he was, I can't help liking Suzaku. I think he was more aware of his own hypocrisy than Lelouch was, hence the self-loathing and the daredevil suicidal stunts. Even Arthur I think he kept around (at least in the beginning) because he felt like he needed/deserved to be punished.
So I guess in support of the "Everyone Hates Suzaku" POV, even SUZAKU hates Suzaku, lol.
That being said, though, for me, Lulu was much more fun to watch.

I agree with you. Suzaku said he wants to change Britannia from within, but he has to kill his own people in order to stay in the military. He's a hypocrite, then again, I guess everyone is. I hated it when he said that he won't stoop low to Lelouch's level, when he already did. Like when he used Nunnally to find out if Lelouch had his memory back. He lied to her when he said he wouldn't and risked of her getting hurt if Lelouch didn't recognize her. Also, he sold out his friend to get into Knight of Rounds. He's very different compared to Lelouch, but also very similar. He manipulated and used people as well as Lelouch did.
Suzaku keeps on justifying himself that his actions are reasonable, when those actions resulted in the same way as Lelouch's did: people getting killed.

Because everyone expected Suzaku to help Lelouch when he saves him from Orange-kun... Also, everyone feels pity for Lelouch and his past... so when Suzaku joins Britannia, people hate him because his OLD friend suffer a lot because of that country...
Well I guess that's one of the reasons... Particullary, I dont hate him... I hate Rollo and Charles xDU

I dont really hate (people should stop using that word for every little dislike) suzaku, its just that i think his idea of changing britania from the inside is stupid, and actually, without lelouch aka zero, suzaku would still be the little soldier he was in the beginning. The only reason why he got such a high rank was because he used zero.
Also, i dont like his "good guy" -hero attitude, he acts all good and stuff, but actually he not only killed his father, but also has no problem killing other people to reach his goal.
Also, i think its normal, at least in some episodes, to dislike suzaku, since he repeatedly interfers with lelouchs plans.

Man I really hated Suzaku just straight up because of his personality. I don't know what hes thinking but man his mind is messed up. Like its hard to describe but I straight up didn't like his personality especially in season 2 when he was toying with Lelouch so not cool! Plus he would always keep preaching about his so called values that made no sense to me.
