Everyone hate Susaku?
Shugo chara? 1st time hear :s i'll check, but there's another good example but in this i didn't end hating one side, because both were fighting for a good motive, am referring right now to the anime Gundam Seed, how could someone hate any of the two main characters, both were cool, just that Kira was too naive, and Asrane too hmm blinded by his own perception of humanity, but he change then, back to this, i totally got your point eddokun, yet i wish people didn't judge Susaku just because they love Lulu and instead did enjoy all characters good aspects and flaws ( even if it's tough for the flaws lol ) and talking about flaws, reminds me of a character i'll never be able to like, Shirou from Fate Stay Night
Hehe... shugo chara is a mahou shoujo series so if you are not into that type of stuff i totally suggest against watching it? ^^;;; lol
but ya its usually the very shoujo oriented couple oriented series that people have that fandom but since CG was so popular it appealed to many audience hence the crazy fandom...
but i too hope people can look at it from both side... suzaku's character is not that simple but all they see is HOW DARE HE GET IN LULU's WAY! O_O but some characters have flaws that are sooo unbelieveable that you just can't like them let me give you example SHIRLEY lol i think i explained myself clearly on the first post haha what she did is totally unacceptable unbelievably stupid! aside from shirley from other animes im sure there are characters like orihime and sakura who are made to be hated... they sit around do nothing and cry and expect to be loved by their crush... i think sakura is starting to redeem herself before i stopped watching it completely lol... as for orihime... where i stopped she was still the same xD
just as lulu had his brains and talks suzaku had the equal amount of pride and athletisism to be on par with him thus he was able to ruin his plan so many times... who else could have right? ^^ very similar yet different i like lulu a tad bit more but i like suzaku also and rollo all the characters have flaws and good points... xD

do you hate everything in the anime then? i didn't understand the thwarts part >_<
For me, Suzaku is the best character and I agree with you Maverickslayer. People have to stop to diss Suzaku because they love Lelouch. I love them both, more Suzaku, but we can like the two characters, I think.

Suzaku's ideaology is as flawed as Relena Peacecraft from Gundam Wing.

Sorry... the "thwarts" part was incomplete.
What I meant to say was "I hate the way he thwarts (or hinders) every single plan Lulu has. Resulting them to be either half met or a complete failure!
The way I hate Suzaku is at a level, wherein the creators of Cide Geass expects it audience to be biased to some of its characters.
Looking at it objectively, Suzaku's role in the anime is important because he provides conflict with the ideals set by Lulu.
This I think mirrors how people themselves in the real world tend to have clashing morals on their lives. What do you think?
Reply to halo6cute, i agree to this point, where Susaku got an important part to play, why it's a little, eeerh weird to hate him, i mean, i could hate all characters, and like them all, but, for Susaku and Lelouch, both have interesting personalities with interesting flaws and values, so why hating one cause you like another, when it's not black, it doesn't really mean it needs to be white, right? But that said, for the creators of Code geass, i'd like to confirm something, they expected only that the audience will climb high due to the girl characters and scenes in them, you can't imagine how i wanted to throw up each time, i was expecting something as cool as death note, oh, this reminds me, why when i underlined the death note topic, before i even say the name, everyone says "i prefer L" who did ask? lol, oh well, even in this whole commotion, it seems there's still some persons who gets my point about the unreasonable hatred towards Susaku or Lulu ( if any do )
Reply to Rahxephon 0930, that one was the most funny and true fact about the likeliness between Relena and Susaku's perceptions of things :p
reply to will, thanks, among the few who understand my point on this, each time am like "hey you watched code geass R2" any of my friend would be "YEEEEEEAH coursed i did, and I hate Susaku, HATE HATE HATE, and you will hate him too" and am like "oh really, let's see", i watched, and i still can't find any particular reasons to hate him, i just regret some of his acts, like some of Lulu, by regrets i mean, like i wish he did something else so that it didn't turn out into a mess, but on another hand, it's that mess that makes Code geass an interesting anime >_<

I don't hate Susaku, I mean in season one and two he has done things that makes people want to hate him such as shooting Lelouch and blaming Lelouch for everything wrong in the world. But I think what he tried to do was change the world for the better in his own way which may cause some people "hate" him. But I always liked him even through the rough times and when he was owning in the Lancelot Albion. Those battle scenes were so sweet! I think no one should hate Susaku in the end since he did finally help out Lelouch to reach their goals and SUNRISE really showed that Susaku changed for the better. I definitely don't hate him ~

Because he's so sure about his own sense of justice that he looks down on anyone else who's is different. However his own view of justice is constantly changing meaning that his only view is that whatever his current thinking is is above everyone elses even though he can't even be consistent. Also he would rather have his people oppressed and looked down on as inhuman rather than let them rise up for their own beliefs and their own rights to be free. He's just a mess of a character who I can't stand even having seen the ending
And what about Lelouch ? Wasn't he so sure about his own sense of justice and how to bring peace for the sake of Nanally that he was ready to blow up the entire world ? For this he didn't hesitate to sacrify a lot of people, japanese or not...
What do you think about that ?
And I don't agree when you said his view constantly changed. He said he will change the world from inside and he tried as a Knight of Britania from the beginning to the end =)

Reply to kefkaesque, I have to agree with will, lelouch too had his part of irrationality, but it seems you really fallen for the game and came to hate Susaku (note) for the same reasons you like Lulu, oh, this is weird, haha, i just noticed this, so the reasons why people hate Susaku, are almost the same reasons why they love Lulu, kinda funny, but well, i agree on another point too, since the start, his point was the same, that is, to change things from the inside, his point of view never changed until the end, so how can you say it constantly changes?
YUP! It is the normal reaction for an audience to sympathize with the protagonist of the story. Especially, if they have a tragic background and is working hard for his resolve.
Note, I am not saying that Susaku isn't working hard to reach his goal. What I am trying to say is that people would find it easier to sympathize with Lulu since he is after all the lead character. Aside from that fact, there are minor reasons for liking Lulu over Susaku. Hmm... I do not think most of the guys would understand though... The gals would know I am sure! Don't get me wrong! I just know it.

Totally HATED him!

When you really love something, you hate it sometimes
Yes! Some of us hated the series sometimes, or some episodes, and most commonly some characters, but still watching it. That's the reason for Code Geass was a huge hit, because it got it's purpose: to wake emotions. So with all emotions floating in CG's air, we are not hating anything, we are loving it because it went beyond our expectations.
I didn't hate Susaku, not even when he was playing the 'bad cop' role... he did it for vengeance! Remember what Lelouch did to Euphie... that thing does not have any pardon. Then, after the Freija incident, when he killed a lot of citizens probably including Nunally (Lelouch Geass' fault again), he could not resist madness and went crazy. Near the end Susaku finally knows about Zero requiem and not only forgives Lelouch, but he also help him. That's amazing.
In some point during R1 I told a friend that Code Geass was a good anime because "the main character is the villain" (referring to Lelouch). I hated Lelouch since he killed Euphemia until the last chapter of R2, when I finally knew his redemption plans. Lelouch will be remembered as a terrific tragic hero, and that was an excellent ending.
