Code Geass Season 2 ending...
*Kaia-Chan is going to ignore all 'Lelouch - Dead or alive' posts for a while, except they have a NEW good and interesting contexts*
Finally you have returned and rescued us from this never-ending discussion.
This is a great idea!
I will start with one argument. The German people had hunted Jewish people, invalids and other people whose lives they have described as "no value in living"-life (I have translated this description literally from German, but I don't know what the English one is). These hunted people are similar to the Numbers who were treated like scums and slaves.
ROLililala1618Change of topic, plese? If we only on the "Lelouch - Dead or Alive?' sect, we will never go on as Lelouch had wished to.

ROLililala1618Lots of people said that CG's like an alternative version of the World War II. Why don't we look for the similarities and differences then between CG and the real WW2?

But they went out of character for a reason. After the death of Charles, Lelouch resolved himself to make it a better world. He did this by pulling all hatred onto himself. It was a complex plan that involved sacrifice on his part (I mean really, can you order your own death?). He did make the world for his sister to live happily in but it didnt occur until after he died...which i thought was kind of funny.
Yea, it was funny...!
hunter8906I mean really, can you order your own death?
Ordinary people cannot order what and when other people are going to say. However, Lelouch proved that it is possible (conversation with Schneizel).
I finished watching CG R2 recently (yeah, I know I'm not up-to-date >.<"). Well, perhaps it's just my opinion, I mean... Lelouch didn't really die from that stab because at the time he received the code from Charles, wasn't he supposed to be immortal and could only be killed using Geass? O_o? I don't really get it at all. It's just too many suspicious aspects left unfolded. After all, i don't like the ending because Lelouch 'lost his existence from this world' though I didn't dare to hope for him to stay alive in the normal world when I was almost reached the final episode.
*Edit : The thing that I want to know the most from this series is C.C's real name.*

Sigh, the ending was good but a little too sad for me. I guess it was somewhat realistic, as Lelouch couldn't walk away from everything unscathed and unharmed while so many others died. First thing I hoped for after seeing this episode was that the cart driver was Lelouch, but now that I think about it that's definitely just wishful thinking ;p
@Kaia-chan
That kind of discrimination didn't just apply on how the Nazis treated the Jews, it happened to almost every civilians whose country lost in a war. Well, this one was shown in Code Geass, as well, especially in the Numbers's case. It's like, the conquerer gave a 'mark' to the conquered countries and those 'marks' won't go off so easily, unless someone broke the ice AKA end the war.
Pretty much lots of aspects in the past wars can be seen in Code Geass. Oh, also note the familiarity of Nina's F.L.E.I.A with the nuclear bomb.

R2 was so awesome. The ending was really good, it was sad, yet redeemed many of the characters and was surprisingly optimistic. Whether or not Lelouch actually dies (because of Charles' code), he still pays for his crimes, either by dying or essentially forever giving up his identity and friends.

I was kind of upset at first about Lulu (excuse me for not using his full name) dying, but then i realise that he can't possibly die because if you had the geass you can't die.
But then my friend said that he probably die for good since this is the end and why would he sacrifice himself if he can't live in the "new world" which he created. ahaha but then like i care i only wanted lulu to be alive, even tho it looked like he was the villain he was our (all the viewers) HERO!

Wow. This ending was perfect, because I couldn't predict it at all. So perfect that it pissed me off a little. Lelouch was such a cool character. And as evil as he was (or not) I'm pretty sure most of us felt, almost like he was a brother, because we knew him so well, even though it's just an anime.
OF course, as many of you fans want "Lulu" to be alive, the creators themselves, said he was dead for good.
I read somewhere in a forum that the producer of Code Geass couldn't stand how the company (Sunrise) milked the anime and thus made Lelouch die so that there be no sequels anymore.. which is a total shame, but hey, his death was admirable. Lelouch is truly Zero, for he his nothing in the eyes of the public, but Zero forever remained as a something in everyone's hearts.
Now, my question is... "Even till the end of the series, they never revealed C.C.'s true name. what is it?"
Any clues?

More likely than not Lelouch's dead, but I'm hoping against hope that he's still alive... somewhere...
(I've been googling Okuchi's interview regarding the whole "Lelouch - dead or alive" issue but I can't find it =/ Could someone perhaps post a link to it, so that I may decide whether I should murder my delusions and conjured-up scenarios of him being alive or not x_x Thanks...)

The point in the anime is to leave it as a mystery for the viewer to interpret but if you must know, the answer is no, Lelouch does NOT die.
The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere.
However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle's Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle's Code (inactivated) and C.C's contracted Geass.
When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch's memories when she touched him, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code.
Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn't obtain C.C.'s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS.
In the end, Lelouch is the masked cart driver (why else would they mask him) and CC is seen talking to him (her eyes slant towards the front of the cart when she says "Right, Lelouch?") and Nunally's Japanese paper crane is seen near the front of the cart, suggesting that it belonged to the driver.
(Also here's a closeup of the driver) http://media.photobucket.com/image/code%20geass/majikchaos/ea0255f3f37670_full.gif?o=56

I like your explanation there, and I really wish it's true, but the others who have read the staff's interviews say that Lelouch's dead =/ and where did you get that picture? The first time I saw it I was like, "Wooohooo! He didn't die!!" but I reconsidered and watched the cart scene again. That scene's not there =o It might be a fake =/

He died and make suzaku kill him so he can take care of nanully out og guilt... and so that lelouch make sure that his sister will be save as long as suzaku is live

That is true, but the World War II is the worse among everything (in my point of view).

This is really ironic. As Einstein was the one who had invented the nuclear bomb and Nina's other name is 'Einstein'.
BlueRayEven till the end of the series, they never revealed C.C.'s true name. what is it?
Her real name was supposed to be 'Cera', but during the production they have dropped that name. Therefore, her true name will stay a secret.
