I feel a third season would be unnecessary, I mean like... what's the point? The ending to R2 in a way felt like a proper ending, but at the same time, I felt it left a few loose endings, and it would be nice if they were tied. Maybe an OVA or movie, something to tie things up like C.C.'s real name, more of about Kallen's life, etc etc.
But to be honest, I'm satisfied with the ending the way it is. Most of those loose endings can be figured out by paying close attention to specific parts of the anime. Perhaps a 26th episode to R2 would be the best idea to tie everything up.
Of course, due to the popularity of this anime, and if they really wanted to, I'm sure they could whip up an exciting new story maybe 5-6 years after the events of R2. However, like I said, it would be unnecessary.

I wish they'd release OVA and tell the origins of Geass. I really wanted to know where they came from, but i don't think they will.

World peace has been restored, hatred has vanished along with Lelouch's public assassination (by his best friend, Suzaku, under the guise of Zero) so my question is: If there was a third season, where would it go from there?
If anyone has any ideas as to what the third season would be about, voice them up here.

I agree with the rest that and OVA or a movie would be nice. But to have a 3rd season might just ruin the ending of the 2nd season. Though who knows, we might just suddenly get a 3rd one. I'll still watch it though.
I don't think we will get a third season although they left the ending open to debate. Sales of the DVD have exploded here and in japan, but unlike the american the japanese tend not to focus on profit only, thank god, otherwise we would have tons of animes that are just like naruto and bleach, which have no ending in sight. Nevertheless we will just have to wait and see.

Hm i dont think they will release a third season...sure there are some open questions about lelouch etc but i think its fot he viewer to decide what he wants to believe. That said, i think it would be nice to have a movie or ova, maybe some background stuff on kallen/cc (or other characters of course, they just happen to be my favourites) or some infomation about the war, something like that.

I think the best way to be the third season is explaining what the story happened before first two seasons,don't make the story to be continued agine.

I don't think they'll have a third season, but maybe an OVA. If they do make another Code Geass, they'll probably do the other version of the manga, such as the Knightmare of Nunnally or Suzaku's. That would be pretty good if they did that.
I'm hoping Lulu's not dead. But he was pretty certain in paying for his crimes. Think about it. He almost killed off all of Sherly's family except her mother. Poor Sherly, that was really sad. Stupid Rolo! >:(

I liked the way it ended to be honest, was a pretty epic ending when Lelouch got killed for the world. Though I wouldn't mind seeing lelouch coming back with his partner and doing some kinda mayhem.

I heard of they will be coming out with third season but different main character because Lelouch is dead.
But I have to say this, I won't watch if there is a third season. No point watching without Lelouch.
