Could there be a third season? *mad spoilers*

I don't think we'll be getting a third season any time soon (or any time at all for that matter). What would happen in a third season? We'd just get to see Lulu and CC traveling the world, Susaku being stuck with oh-so-adorable Nunnaly, and Orange-kun in his orange plantation. There'd be no main plot, none as exciting as the first two.
However, an OVA would be just fine. It could tie a few loose ends, (like CC's real name) and just describe more deeply the lives of the different characters. I, for one, would LOVE to see Kallen's life in more detail.
I agree, An OVA would be better. If they made another series that it wouldn't do the job of being as good as the first time. The kind of rounded things off at the end of series 2. Why ruin an anime that has a good and surprising ending. Well it kind of surprised me anyway.

OVA agreed. Think of it this way: how would you re-introduce the cast back into the 3rd season?
Lelouch died to make the world a more peaceful place. So what sort of conflict could there be? Since CC is the only one we know that still has the Geass code, I doubt she would want to undo the things Lelouch has done (until perhaps 100 years into the future when they do unravel)...
But thats a really big stretch.

I would never want to say never, but I would be very surprised, and likely disappointed, if there was a 3rd season.
I have to agree with some that if there was a season three I would be half afraid that CG would become another incident of beating a dead horse in anime, however on the other hand I would really like to see Lelouch come back as some kind of immortal; ready to save the world once again from some unseen evil like he did once before.
The best part to me would be the stakes would of course be higher since the only thing that can threaten a immortal is another immortal making for a interesting story with just that fact in mind. If they could some how manage to make some good additions to the series character wise and come up with a decent plot line I would almost say they could probably pull a successful third season. also considering everyone would totally freak out if Lelouch was to be discovered alive after everything that happened from before, it would in itself be a priceless moment considering more then half the world puts him up there with Hitler anyways.

I dont think they will make a third season, maybe some fanservice ova or something along those lines. What i really hope is that they will make an anime from the Nightmare of Nunally Manga. I read the first volume recently and its quite an interesting plot.
Or maybe the third season would be something like telling the beginnings, how britannia conquered the world...some background info about cc, charles etc...something like that.

No I don't think there should be a third season. It'd probably just ruin the anime in the end, which would be sad. A movie or something else small might not be bad, so long as they do it right.

I also think that the ending is not proper. I want to see S3 too

Why would there be a second season? Hated it hated it. Kept trying to watch it could never get past the fourth episode it wasn't that it was boring it just was REALLY BORING and could never keep my attention. It just seemed like an anime that was a chess game and that was it oh i have your knight!! AHH! but now I can take your queen! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! At least that is my opinion on code geass
A third season would be hitting a dead horse with an electrified aluminum bat. There's really not much to pick up on, except the vague end of R2.
Then again, they threw the ending of R1 away for a completely new season anyway. OVAs would be stretching the life of Code Geass.

There won't be a third season, the end of the show showed everything that needed to be showed, lelouch gave his life so the world could live in complete freedom, and suzaku became the idol, the show is done.

I think that there could be another story to the Code Geass Franchise,

As has been said already, the possibility of a third season at this point is unlikely, but NOT impossible. Sunrise could easily whip up something for a third season which would be met with immense popularity, just as season two was. I wouldn't want to see a third season though, since I wasn't particularly fond of season two in the first place. Sunrise seems to disappoint me with its sequels...=\

We have 2 options really:
1: Lulu is dead, good riddance, old, tired, overused "bring the worlds hatred onto yourself" ideal. No season 3.
2: Lulu isn't dead. We all got trolled. Season 3 will happen, and like all season 3s, it will be of a very low quality, and everyone apart from the producers lose. Producers make lots of money.

I belive there wont be a third season. Maybe there will be OVA´s (funny or between the war) or just like FullMetal Alchemist, a re-do fro the manga.
In this case, the have some good material to do this, look at the Geass Mangas: Suzaku of the Counterattack and Nightmare of Nunully.

I would hope that there won't be any more Code Geass. To continue the story would ruin the beauty of the ending we were given.
