I watched 5 episodes so far, and i like this anime. The story is pretty good, and will hopefully become even better ^^. So far, i will probably watch the anime till the end.

One of the reasons i love this anime is because the Contractors have a price for each use of their powers, and it's fun finding out what it is. :D

Amber's seiyuu turns out to be Tomoko Kawakami, the seiyuu that did Misuzu from AIR. No wonder Amber has the giggly "ni ha ha". I also think that it's quite fitting, since Amber and Misuzu have the same sad smile.

Having finished ep 16, I am totally attractive by the story between Amber and Hei!!

I saw four episodes.

I thought it is that kind of movie like 007, however there are no a lot of action conditions.

The most interest scene is the scene of Opening end, is that C.C. of Code Geass?

I've seen up to episode 16 now and, as pretty much everyone else has said, the animation is beautiful... Hei most certainly is eye-candy =D, the story is intriguing because there's just so much mystery to the unknown and to Hei himself. Can contractors love? They're supposed to not have feelings, right, but it seems like they do have them.

I don't know why, but in episode 16 I felt a surge of like... pure anger/hate towards Amber... I guess because she hurt Hei and I'm fonder of him than I thought o.o.

I also must confess that I hope he and Misaki get together, though it doesn't look like that will happen - the two barely meet...

I love this show. Its very interesting and keeps me hooked.I like how after they use their powers they have a contract to pay which is so unlike Bleach, etc.
Im wondering what Hei and Mao's contract is or unless they completed it. I want to see Hei reintroduced to his sister Pei ^^

This is my favorite current anime. The characters are interesting and the way they are slowly unfolding the plot is really engaging. I always want to find out more, and they leak just enough to keep me hooked. Not digging the new intro so much though, the first opening song was too awesome to be replaced.

I hear ya! I loove the song Howling. Theres not enough Hei in the new one! heh Im sad to say it'll probably only be around 25 episodes long =/ Im guessing since mostly all the others end around there.

very interesting plot, writer must have a great imagination to think of this.

both opening songs are very nice and fit the anime well.

I fell in love with this anime after 5 minutes *^* To be honest, I didn't even notice the quality of animation or sound... I was amazed by the mysterious, 'dark' atmosphere and, well, Hei 8D How can you not love Hei? XD

I've started to notice technical awesomeness of Darker Than Black after watching 3-4 episodes... The animation quality is great. I especially love fighting scenes, when they jump around and lot and everything is smooth and perfect :o I don't watch much anime, and almost none of the new series, so it may be the reason for my amazement... everyone else seems to share my opinion, so I guess it's not that biased XD;

Music is great too *_* Especially the ending, 'Tsuki Akari'. Rie Fu's voice suits the song perfectly *-* I like 'Howling' too, and the new OP and ED, but 'Tsuki Akari' is my absolute favourite :D

And the story... ah, the story *__* To be honest, I usually don't watch this kind of anime, I prefer light, funny stories. But DTB was recommended to me and I was too lazy to check some reviews, so I've just watched the episode. I fell in love instantly. The best thing about DTB is probably the fact that nothing is fully explained, like the Gate for example. I've seen 16 episodes and I still have no idea what it is, and the strange thing is, I don't mind it one bit 8D I just hope it will be explained in one of the episodes.

The characters are great too... especially the Contractors :D I love finding out about their remunerations, they're usually so strange o_O' I wonder what's Hei's? I thought it was eating after watching few episodes, but he was never shown eating right after using his power. I hope this will be explained too...

I've seen all the 19 realesed episodes...the plot's goin' further & it makes me craving for the next episodes.i want to see the ending very ,very,VERY much!

The show has great animation and love the action in it,
none of it is over exaggerated like naruto or dbz style.
Also interesting story though it doesnt progress fast enough for a show with only 24-6? eps. if it has more it would be cool cause its fun to watch though i think the ending is going to be rushed

Contractors are individuals who have gained superhuman powers due to the appearance of the Hell's Gate. The existence of Contractors is kept secret to the general public by most governments around the world, but they are well-known to the higher echelons of society and the criminal underworld. Contractors possess two other traits that give them their rather sinister reputation: a obeisance which is a bizarre "payment" for the use of their powers, and a generally pragmatic, Machiavellian world view.

Hei's obeisance is currently unknown if not non-existant. Huang has noted several times that Hei's behaviour is strange for the likes of a contractor, whose mentallity shouldn't be affected by normal feelings of compassion or sorrow. Hei acts upon these emotions regardless, making him somewhat enigmatic to Mao and Huang.

Amber is currently looking for something called the "key". It seems to be she cares quite greatly for Hei. She is the one who holds the meteor fragment.
