After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Hmmmm :/
Unfortunately, I'm really disappointed, story is nice, interesting, heroes are mysterious, BUT
i wanted something more,
and i'm sure that Tensai Okamura could do some things better,
i think that in future he will do some better titles. :)
Maybe i'm wrong, after 10 years we will come back to this plot ;d

Good start, slow progress, and really seems like every problem is solved within 2-3 episodes, if not 1.
It was an interesting Idea, and plot, the anime seemed to take off at a good start, but the ending was once more rushed, and undeveloped.
All of it ended in one episode.
Alot of missed points, alot could have been worked on, and so many questions left open.
But still it was good, with an awkward ending, of the same contractors?
Also what I didn't like about it, is the unexplained plot, how did the contractors come to be?

I think it's one of the most original and "dark" anime that was ever made :) I really enjoyed the show. I recommend it :P

"I guess I would like to have the ability to increase the force of whatever force subjected.Say a punch normally would have around less than 1 ton of pressure power, mine's ability would be to increase that pressure, say around 3 tons, or kilotons, that would be something like a truck's weight rushing at you with 30 km per hour speed.
Now, the conscience I must pay would have to be the pain.
If I use too much power, the body must suffer physically after I swing the fist, the immense pain is one thing, but the payment that requires my doing is to bite my own tongue for each kiloton of pressure I exerted.This balances out the force I may use, 1 kiloton = 1 bite = 1 ulcer at the tongue and bad taste for food. (even potential cancer)Each swing I make would equate to around half a ton, and by increasing by 1.0 times for each kiloton I exert, I would increase damage to enemies, hopefully, none has the ability to block a truck coming straight at them.
It's either the Roy Mustang finger snap "I can set things on fire" or, to fly. I mean, what's not to love about setting things on fire in a snap, literally? Need a light? Snap! And, I've always liked flying. Both mediums would be air. Mustang uses oxygen to transmute, I'll do the same, without the gloves and the circle. And, if there's no air, what am I flying through?

As for the obeisance, hm, I guess something ridiculous will have to do for the Roy finger snap thing, like...folding laundry, or buttoning and unbuttoning shirts, maybe reciting the dictionary, folding paper cranes, churning butter? For flying, I remember the first episode, that guy had to break his fingers. God, I'd hate to do that. Um, can I please eat three quarts of ice cream and suffer from obesity, heart disease and other health problems instead? I'd suffer heart disease to fly! "
"I don't think there is a purpose for the payments, just that you have to do something painful or tedious, perhaps something that you hate? And I think the list here really displays that!

Another power that would be fun is to be able to change my appearance to look like anybody. This could be fun as well as useful, eg for espionage or even just to get free entry into a club! My medium would be an item of DNA from the source, similar to Chiisanasora's medium (where he/she can tell that person's future)

I guess my payment would be to disfigure myself. So the more that I look like someone else, the less that I look like myself. And the less that I look like myself, the more I will want to look like someone else!"

Darker than Black is a very deep, intellectual anime. Sort of on the level of Lucky Star, but not quite. They're both very intelligent, but in different ways. Darker than Black is a very collective anime, aware of its own intellectualness and it takes itself very seriously. It almost seemed like they should've had a random bear pop out from nowhere every now and then just to lighten it up a bit. In this case, think of the "bear" as a bit of light comedy, which Darker than Black totally lacked. It was always serious, hardly ever imersing itself with that bear. It always kept itself on a serious track, it got kind of depressing at times. Maybe if it had been more open to letting that bear in, it would've been able to draw in more viewers and wouldn't be one of the most underrated animes in a long time.

I can't really think of many other anime that don't have a "bear" like that, to lighten things up every now and then. Darker than Black tried to do that with the character Gai. They tried to make him Darker than Black's bear, but I don't think it worked. It still kept its serious aura.

If you don't mind something incredibly serious without a bear popping up every now and then for some laughs, Darker than Black is an amazing anime. You just have to accept the bear you're used to isn't coming and the intense atmosphere never lets up.

É um anime muito bem trabalhado, com traços finos e com a história foda.

It is an anime worked very well, with fine features and the crazy history.

Darker than Black was an awesome anime, in my opionion. Somehow, I really grew into into the characters around midway of the season and began to really like the progression of the characters along with the plot. And the short section-like stories were to my liking, as it wasn't too long or too short. Also, I thought that the ending was great, though I must say, I'm not sure if I understand it completely. I remember being really sad when it came to an end because I enjoyed it so much.

I fell in love with this anime after 5 minutes *^* To be honest, I didn't even notice the quality of animation or sound... I was amazed by the mysterious, 'dark' atmosphere and, well, Hei 8D How can you not love Hei? XD

I've started to notice technical awesomeness of Darker Than Black after watching 3-4 episodes... The animation quality is great. I especially love fighting scenes, when they jump around and lot and everything is smooth and perfect :o I don't watch much anime, and almost none of the new series, so it may be the reason for my amazement... everyone else seems to share my opinion, so I guess it's not that biased XD;

Music is great too *_* Especially the ending, 'Tsuki Akari'. Rie Fu's voice suits the song perfectly *-* I like 'Howling' too, and the new OP and ED, but 'Tsuki Akari' is my absolute favourite :D

And the story... ah, the story *__* To be honest, I usually don't watch this kind of anime, I prefer light, funny stories. But DTB was recommended to me and I was too lazy to check some reviews, so I've just watched the episode. I fell in love instantly. The best thing about DTB is probably the fact that nothing is fully explained, like the Gate for example. I've seen 16 episodes and I still have no idea what it is, and the strange thing is, I don't mind it one bit 8D I just hope it will be explained in one of the episodes.

The characters are great too... especially the Contractors :D I love finding out about their remunerations, they're usually so strange o_O' I wonder what's Hei's? I thought it was eating after watching few episodes, but he was never shown eating right after using his power. I hope this will be explained too...

Darker than Black.

When I read the title, I didn't really understand it's meaning, and after watching the series I still don't get it.

Well from episode one it caught my eye, with many questions. One of which is kind of an eye catcher, which draws in the audience, and yes it's;
Who is the man behind the mask?
null
After that the anime resembles kind of what most say a detective show, where all cases get solved in two or less episodes, and leading to the deeper plot for the ending.

The concept of contractors, and dolls, was interesting, and world manipulation through deletion of memories, government conspiracy, and unexplained phenomenon. All that made the anime more exiting to watch.

But as always in all great series, there is a lack of development, and explanation for the events leading the way for the viewers.

It was kind of a packed all in one ending, where ALOT happens, but we understand only that;
Hei is a good guy, he beats bad guys!
null
Nothing more.

What are the gates? No clue... What is Hei? No clue. What happens now to the Gate? No clue...
Very open ended conclusion, some episodes had no meaning in them what so ever, like the detective case in the cat gone missing. Also some side story drags, and Hei not even knowing his full potential was a total let down.

I think it is a dramatic anime with plenty of sorrow, and excitement for the viewers of people having supernatural powers.

It was good while it lasted, and I'd say a seven out of a perfect ten.

Wonder what the DVD bonus episode had?
