As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. The background and foreground have no relation to each other-- there's nothing but an image, solid colour, and font. Think about the elements and dynamic that you want to add to your wallpaper.

There's no relation between any of the wall elements...
maybe try to go with the scan and make everything black and white, and change the bg, is too plain and simple...the text doesn't fit neither, and is too simple too...
think on a single style or color combination and apply that to the whole wall, make the scan blend with the bg...
