This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Online v Offline Gaming...

I prefer offline multiplayer games. Some single player games can get boring after a while so thats why multiplayer games were invented. Even though online games give you more people to play against, it also gives you more people that you never knew you hated till then. The majority of online gamers piss me off so even when I play online games like Guild Wars, I will play the missions solo or with friends that I know personally.

The second problem with online games is the lag. I hate it when I die by lag, and seeing how my computer is not the best, and it happens very often in online gaming.

The third problem that keeps me away from most online games is my lack of money. I just don't want to pay a monthly fee to play a game.

I play online games so that i can interact with other people
i play single player games mostly for story, i don't play multiplayer games solo coz that kills the purpose of the multiplayer game

The only online game I play is RO, I go more for offline cause its got better graphics and gameplay. I no longer play RO cause my addiciton got lessened, levelling up is no longer that much of importance to me XP i only play it to spend time with friends in a different way hihi.

Online all the way , unless its an rpg or something like that you just can't beat playing with all kinds of different people from all over the world. You really get to see just how good "or bad" you really are.

I like online for it's interactivity, offline for it's great storylines.

Either works for me. There have been several instances in which I played Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory with voice chat alongside a fellow player (a rich experience, I'll say).

Definately offline gaming for me. Multiplayer games like Pro Evolution Soccer or Soul Calibur etc against your mates sitting next to you is that much more gratifying in my opinion. I pretty much echo waht Knives4444 says at the top of the page in regards to my opposition to online gaming.

Are you a fan of offline or online gaming? Or do you enjoy a mixture of both styles of gaming? Have you a favourite online game that you believe wouldnt be as good as a single player game? Whats are the pros and cons of either game mode?

I'd have to say more offline. Sometimes it's just too much to keep up with online gaming.

I like a mixture of both. I play usually on private servers, so i don't get charged. When i'm not playing MMORPGS, I'm playing Counter-Strike Source online, ranking up some kills. When i'm not doing that, I'm playing Battlefield 2 Online again smacking some ass...

But when i feel like something different, i play Dance Dance Revolution... LOL.. Or play FEAR... Or Quake 4... Or Call Of Duty 2... Online gaming is not just for people who can't find friends.. there is more to games than pitting yourself with predictable AI. Human intelligence is still the way to go to get the best amount of adrenaline going.

Its a mix really. There are offline MMRPGS as well... Like Neverwinter Nigths...

I play all kinds of games so.. its a mix..

I play online games just to play together with my friends.
And maybe finding new friends or hang around with some people.
But I personally prefer offline games because mostly of the online games had no ends and consume much times.

In my opinion i think Offline gaming eclipses online by a fair distance. No 1: Because of its convienience. My gaming comes in spurts, when i have free time for example before going out, or after work etc. If i game online may take ages to hook up with someone, enter a room etc. Or i could resume my saved game offline and be playing in a matter of seconds. No 2: Story. People want story, they want their games to sweep them off their feet and toss them into a new, fantastical world. In most cases it takes a single player experience to craft that story. Blasting opponents in online Quake may be fun, but it doesnâ??t give the player a beginning, middle, end, plot surprises, and character development â?? in other words, all the components that make a good story. Yes, it creates a universe â??-as does the likes of Everquest, but the universe lacks a sense of movement toward ultimate climax and finish. That climax/finish leads to my No 3: Completion. We like to finish what we start, and often only start projects that we know we can finish. Despite its immense size, Baldurâ??s Gate II will end (if you can stay awake long enough); Asheronâ??s Call will not. Playing the Call forever provides no completion, just a boss character. And you wonâ??t even build that boss if you have a poor connection. Online gaming has a place in our world, and it will continue to grow and prosper. It will not, however, dominate the future of our industry. Solo gamingâ??s combination of convenience, story, and sense of completion, will make it the choice of the majority of gamers -- gamers that donâ??t want to hassle with buying a cable connection or online rudeness; gamers that donâ??t care what statistics say; and most of all, gamers who just want to have fun.

Obviously people will point to some online games as having the interactivty and thats fine for them- for me id much rather play my games offline and having the interactivity with my mates sitting next to me.

I suppose RPGs and FPS lend themselves to being Online gaming games. I just havent seen the attraction myself in playing games online and probably never will either.
