Star Ocean III: Till The End of Time

I am currently playing this game, but it seems soo long!! I like how they did the animation on certain scenes. But one thing that annoys me is the inventing part and symbology, soo confusing!!
The game is probably my favorite RPG for PS2. I really like the battle system it is incredible. I currently have 200+ hours on it and have 3 games one for Galaxy, another for Universe, and the last for 4-D difficulty which I have yet to finish.
The inventing is a bit confusing to get at first but you'll need to learn to know how to use it and the best stuff to create or improve if you don't want to take forever with post game dungeons. It will make it loads easier but still a challenging since the post game bosses are HARD unlike the main game ones and even more so on higher difficulties like 4-D(which is the highest difficulty). If you have questions about inventing just ask me. Most attacking symbology is effected by INT which is intelligence and the higher it is the more damage but this is not that same for healing. Symbology like your other skills increases in level with use which makes it better. Symbology is not need at all but it is pretty much a must if you want to use Sophia or Adray.

Ah, SOi. The battle system was nice, but the characters were really, REALLY dull. In the end, I couldn't give a rat's ass about any of them so I turned the game back to Gamefly without regret. It's a pity I had to end it that way, but I just couldn't be bothered to finish it.
I'm an avid SO3 player. Collecting battle trophies tickles my fancy. Where are you up to, and who do you use? Maybe I could give a few pointers on battle skills setups for your characters.
I would make a longer post, but that'll have to come later. :P

I'm playing SO: TTOT at the moment, myself. I quite like, it's a lot of fun to play but the invention section of the game did confuse me for ages. I'm currently half-way through the second disc and sort of stuck, but eh. Still a good game to pass the hours with and have fun.
I love Star Ocean 3, and the inventing can get really, really annoying, but it's something that is definetly worth the trouble. It really sucks though, pressing the button over and over to get the right number, and after 10 minutes of pressing the button your thumb kinda goes by itself at that point - then what happens? The number shows up, but you notice it right after passing it up. Uggghh...the only thing more annoying is working that hard, finally getting the right number..then one of your inventors falls asleep. wow, i really don't miss that part of the game. I'm in Sphere 211 right now, post-game, on like floor 152. It's a bit exhausting.
One thing can be said for Star Ocean, the battles are, in my opinion, the most exciting in any PS2 RPG. The fact that they're non-stop is good enough, but then in the really tough battles, it's all about strategy. I love it.
I've only beaten the game once, when I do play, I concentrate on Sphere 211. I have over 800 hours of gameplay, not because the game was hard, but because I would leave the game on, unpaused, for days at a time to collect money with inventing. If you've invented lots of items, and have good inventors, just find a dungeon or safe area in the open and put Fayt there. Sleep, or so something for a few hours, come back and you'll have money. That's what I love about this game, you don't have to sell good stuff or fight battles for money.

I actually liked the game. It was fun because of the free battle system. I dont think the characters were all that bad but eh. I liked the ending with fayt x nel and fayt x maria.
One of my favourite RPG series. If you are having trouble, you should visit sites like GameFAQs for help.
Also, check out Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean: The Second Story as well.

To me, Star Ocean 3 is great game... I really liked playing it. I finished the game only once tho... then I started a new game to complete the Battle of Trophies thing (got quite a few trophies) but then I stopped playing (bought other games being the main reason).
The inventing part is pretty cool... but kinda annoying sometimes...
Yeah, for that reason exactly... it happened to me a few times -_-. And I didnt recruit all the inventors... those I didnt recruit are the good inventors and they keep inventing all the cool stuff and get higher ranking... I cant catch up to them anymore *sigh* oh well...
Overall, SO3 is a great game... good gameplay, great battle system and a pretty good story.

I played SO3 until I acquired 240 Battle Trophies, which unlocks 4P Costumes. I decided to stop because well, since I've been playing SO3 I've neglected a lot of the games I bought and left sitting on my shelf, such as Resident Evil 4, Magna Carta, Radiata Stories, and Disgaea. I've progressed somewhat, by beating RE4 and am 6, or so, hours into Magna Carta, though Disgaea and Radiata Stories are just sitting there still.
Personally, I liked Fayt, Maria and Nel. Though I hear good things about Sophia and Peppita. Particularly, Sophia's stunlocking ability and Peppita's counters.

It game was getting REALLY good in the beginning, but towards the end it was just like ".....what?" " like SE just put int whatever to just finish the game. reminds me of FFIX

You mean Tri-Ace, right?
I won't spoil the story but it was shocking. I mean man I didn't even see that coming what the Creator really was and his servents.
I won't spoil but I really hated the story. The game is only good because of the content.

bye bro!
