Click the link if you want to see the article, but I'll sum it up here for those too lazy to do that.
-Despite Nintendo's "sometime in the fourth quarter" statements, pubs and devs are readying their games for a late October(!), very early November release.
-Industry sources claim that Nintendo does indeed plan to release the Wii BEFORE the PS3(oh, you sly nintendo dogs!)
-Whenever it launches, it apparently will be released before many people thought it would, and if this story can be believed, before the PS3.
I think an October release is brilliant!! With the strong line-up of launch titles, Nintendo could then lauch a second wave of games in mid to late November, early December to keep people occupied during the inevitable post-Christmas drought, then come back strong with SSBB and Super Mario Galaxy in February or March. It's freaking brilliant I tell you! Nintendo's going back to the top of the heap boys and gals!! I can feel in my bones. I can also already feel my wallet getting lighter with all the games and other Nintendo stuff I plan on buying during the holiday rush. Ah...gaming life will be good once more.........

Nintendo always meantioned 'Thanksgiving' as possible release date. So yea, it could be possible, if Sony goes for Christmas as releasedate, which could be wise as long as they have enough systems ready to sell.
Good news.

The Wii seems interesting, but I'm kinda glad the PS3 isn't going to be released for awhile. At least it gives us some time to start saving up before it gets here. XP
I think the Wii isn't gonna do that great. Like, honestly, Nintendo's gotta be on top of their game right now to be able to make such a unique idea like the ones they've been boasting about to work. Personally, I think Nintendo's having waay too hard of a time keeping up with x box and playstation. They're falling behind, soon enough, people will be choosing x box and playstation over nintendo. nuff said!
ps, just my own opinion, keep that in mind. I'm not sayin what I say is what it is

I disagree. Starting off, Nintendo isn't even in competition with playstation and xbox. Nintendo is just doing their thing and playstation and xbox is doing their own thing. The ways on how they target their audience is up to their innovation of their new console and their advertisiing schemes and in the end the people decide which is better and which one they want.
I know the Wii doesn't have the best specifications compared to Xbox and PS3 but they worked around that by introducing a new way of game play. Remember, Nintendo is trying to target a wider audience who never been interested in game play before or just couldn't be bother to pick up a controller. The price has a big impact as well . Some families couldn't afford to chop ouit $600 US for the PS3 or an Xbox. Thats crazy, many families have considerable budgets like me but the Wii i reckon will be less than half of that and thats a reasonable amount overall.
With a lower price and an interactive game play, Nintendo has a bright future ahead. They are actually learning from their mistakes which is all part of the world wide business ^_^.
The Wii releasing before the PS3 is considered a great head start for Nintendo. This will give them an early boost on sales.
