This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

With all the posts on here about school work and first loves and what not, I was just wondering how many other adults belong to this board.

I've been watching anime for about 8 yrs now, and I'm 26. Have the career, the love life and bills. Oh joy.

Anyone else? ^_^

From what age do you count someone as a adult? 18+ or 21+
By the law of my country I'm an adult, so here I go. =P
I've been watching anime for 4 years, I'm 18 years old and I'm in year 1 of college, don't have a relation yet and have no career. >.<

Is 21 considered adulthood?

If so, then I've been watching anime for 7 years. I'm in the 2nd year of uni.

Well, i'm 22. have been watching anime for more than 10 years or so.

better revise the topic and your introduction so that we can have a discussion on this. you can ask about the course of anime life or you can change the topic to "anime and adulthood"...

*shrugs*.. i'm 19.. so while the state may consider me an adult... i guess i'm not quite there since i'm not really paying the house bills, still in college, and have no career O.o

but i think it's certaintly anime/manga is somethign that kids catch onto and grow up with... but even now that i'm in my first year of college, my "anime-fever" has gone done a lot from my early high-school days.. and i'm sure that as careers and bills come into play.. anime doesn't always fit the lifestyle or budget, or interests change and sadly their interest is gone... but it's nice to see the "adults" over 21 still having a strong interest in anime :P

I'm one of the adults - have my degree, out of uni, working and paying a crap load of bills and student loans back. No love life right now though - I'm not really trying I guess. At this point in time, I'm not very interested. To me, adulthood is more like someone who's out of university and starts working full-time in a career. Between all the obligations of paying bills and work, I watch a lot of anime, dramas and basically bumming around shopping.

hehe, I always thought of you as someone in their early 20's or maybe 18, hehe, you really are a kid at heart!

weeell, as for me, I'm not quite an adult yet (17 years old). I just looked into this discussion just to see if there were any actual people in animepaper who was in their late forty's or early fifty's. Not saying I have anything against that. I just thought it would be funny if it was someone I've seen in the threads before, and acted like a kid at heart ^^

Maybe its because the adults have less time on their hands to start threads whereas the younger ones just pop in whatever discussion comes to mind.

I'm 19, in the middle of earning a B.S. in Computer Science. I'm legally an adult, but I'm far from being totally independent, with parents helping pay the rent and tuition and such.

I really don't know how you define when you begin watching anime. I started knowingly watching anime around 2000, when Gundam Wing was shown on Cartoon Network, so that's about six years now, but I remember watching Voltron and Speed Racer and (my personal favorite) Robotech much, much, earlier. Sure, I didn't know it was anime, they were all just cartoons to me then, but I guess they kinda count for something.

I'm 19 as well and by law in Australia i'm considered as an adult but to my parents, i'm a little 5 year who stills runs around the play ground and plays the monkey bars lol. I'm almost done with my networking diploma and seriously, i will be happy to accept any desk job they offer me from any organisation. I perfer I.T. of course.

I've been watching anime for like almost a year and a half now but i've been watching cartoons way longer than that. I started when i was 4 and i watched Samurai Pizza Cats (This show was the best, i still remember bits and pieces of it ^_^), Ninja Turtles, the classic episodes of Sonic, Pokemon, Transformers etc. Back then i thought they were just american cartoons but now i know they are anime.
In conclusion, i have been watching anime for a very long time but i just didn't know it ^_^

Well, i started watching from the age of 10,its been nine years till now
and i am still addicted to anime dont know why i like it, but i do,
and thats what really matters,

but if you ask me i am the only person who knows too much about anime,
where i live not many people know what anime is or what it even means,

guess i am unique, hehee, that is also one of the reasons why i have
joined animepaper, to get the latest information, and talk to people who
like anime to.
