I think you can download a trial version of CS2 for free at their adobe website. Its recommended you should pay for it as its not right to download it... legally.

If your a student you can get a discount.
If it's still too expensive get the GIMP, or a cheaper image editing program.

Hmm.. I don't see too much differences between Adobe Photoshop CS and CS2... I think CS2 is somewhat a "massive RAM consumer"... =/ Maybe the next Photoshop could have some new stuff or be a mix with Macromedia stuff. We'll see about it later. ^^
