Quite surprised there isn't already a topic so I thought I'd jump in there for all the Straw Hat lovers out there where we can discuss latest chapters, past fights, wherever you are at the moment, favorite bits, best bad guys and anything else I've forgotten!

I watched some episodes of this anime. I this this anime is good, but I think Eichiro oda should make the characters look better, like changing their clothes.
Well, they change their clothes from time to time. Not like massive overhauls but they differ. Actually, I take that back, Nami has dramatic changes in costume in pretty much every major arc. Fan service and the like.

Everyone except for Luffy changes their clothes on a regular basis. Usopp and Zoro less, but Nami usually gets 3 outfits an arc, Sanji often changes and Franky has a new shirt every arc, so far. XD
They made a big deal about luffy having a new pair of pants in water 7, and the first thing he did was rip off the bottom half of the legs.
...I dont think Nami is ever buying him new clothes again.

I like the setting and story of One Piece. Its good that Eiichiro Oda can create a rich and distinct world in this manga. However, that being said, I have to say that the battles in One Piece can get ridiculous at times. One thing that has plagued recent shonen fight comics serialized in Jump (such as Naruto and Bleach) is the length of the battles. One Piece also suffers from this problem. If only One Piece could focus less on extending the battles, it could spend more time developing its characters and the world that it's set in.

One Piece is, by far, my most favourite shounen manga. It didn't make me bored like Naruto and it's funny too. The Straw Hats' adventures are sort of long... but Oda-sensei puts in subtle hints as to what is the world in the manga like. I think it's really a nice touch from him.
The characters are likeable and cool... the adventures are limitless... I'm dying to know what they'll reach in the end, but at the same time I want One Piece to never end. It's just too good to end.
And what I like the best there, is its sincerity.

Yup~ One Piece is the best manga so far~~!! I can't imigine how creative the author is and how much he is going to explore the world of One Piece~~~ Well, but you gotta admit the art of One Piece need some time to get used to...

Yeah, at first I was a bit put off by the art, too. But it grew on me in the end, and now I can't really imagine the style that'd suit this manga better.

I really like the simple drawing style, charas all look so funny! Luffy is just too funny, I can't stop laughing no matter what he does.
Manga has not yet bored be, there allways seems to be something going on and some new charas have joined the crew.

One Piece!
I've actually just recently got into the series, and I'm really enjoying it so far.
The artwork is definatly a bit 'original', which is why most of my friends are sort of reluctant to get into it (actually, I too was like that for a while)
I'm glad I picked up this manga, it's funny, got a good amount of action, and I love the Pirate world.

Would you guys recommend getting into One Piece? I keep seeing the first book of the manga in shops and considering it, but it's a very long series, isn't it? Is it worth the monetary investment of buying every volume that comes out in English?

I love it. But it's pretty long, which some of my friends have a problem with. I think it's worth your money, but be prepare to spend A LOT of money on it though.
One of thing I love most about One Piece is actually the art work. I think it's looks great, and definitely unique. That actually got me into another manga, Fairy Tail. If you don't look at the artist, you would think they are from the hands of the same person.

I love One Piece! The best manga ever! It just keeps getting better, unlike Bleach and Naruto, that are getting worse all the time.
