This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Hi,i just zapped in the TV and saw the Movie "John Carpenter's Escape from L.A." and realized that His name was Snake Plissken and and he was Ex-Soldier wich reminds me on Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because they even looks the same for me somehow.

Sorry for that huge pic but i didnt found it smaller where he looks like tha.
No i think maybe coud it be that it is something like the Origin fromMetal Gear solid because the first Movie "John Carpenter's Escape from New York" was released 1981 and the First Metal Gear solid in the ca. 1990 so i think the Origin is in that movie maybe Someone here know more ?

Yes, Solid Snake was roughly based on Snake Plissken of the Escape from New York and LA films. Which is why his alter-ego in MGS2 was called Plisken.

Sweet Lord. It is just the character who is roughly based on Kurt Russel, Hideo Kojima has said this himself. The whole game is completely original.

Might be that Kojima was somehow inspired by him during the dev of MGS so suddenly his face zapped in his mind and he created something too similar to him in his appearance :P

Snake gives his name as Plisken in MGS2 when disguised as a member of the insertion squad and found by Raiden. Kijoma himself has confirmed the influence. I do think so.

Wow this is still news to some people i guess. yeah, Kojima was inspired by a few movies when he created Metal Gear including "The Great Escape" starring Steve McQueen in 1963. i have both of John Carpenters Escape movies and i consider them part of my Metal Gear collection. there are other elements from the Escape movies that Kojima incorporated into his games for example if you watch Escape from NY you will notice how much Kojima made the MGS1 VR Missions stages look just like the HUD from the glider Plissken uses to land on top of the WTC. there are others but i wont spoil it for those of you who haven't seen the movies yet.
