what do you get after watching anime?
I'm just wondering what people get after watching anime?
cuz i do have something important every time i've finished watching a good anime
such as after watching furuba, i just realize that there should be people suffering more than me because of their dark backgrounds; how close is my personality to souma kyou; not every cheerful people has good life, etc..
what about you?

After watching Anime, I get a lot of fan stuff like posters, CDs, wallscrolls, wallpapers, etc. XD
Well besides that, I also learn a lot from them. I think the difference between Anime and most American cartoons is that Anime appeals to a deeper level of feelings and thoughts. Like you said, Furuba teaches about how people can help one another through their sufferings, and fans can learn that from that.
I personally learned a lot from Rurouni Kenshin, so much so I cannot put them all in words on here. The good Anime leaves a mark on me. Sometimes it's a lesson about life, or just a realization, or somthing that personally affects my ideals and morals. Some Anime makes me think about lots of things in life, and I think that's awesome.
Anime influences me on many levels, which is part of the reason why I love it so much ^^

I buy stuff if i like that anime; then i get obsessed with it & get pictures of it. then i watch another anime & it starts all over again.
but we can learn lessons from animes..furuba is a good example. so i often think about it.

Yes, yes, rurouni kenshin does have so many things to learn too ^^
maybe it's because we're taken into a different view of a battousai
and we also learn from kaoru lots i think.. since she's so kind-hearted..

After I watch a good anime, I go and watch another one haha
If the anime is good, I look into it and try to learn more about the series. I try to find some soundtracks from the series and find some mutimedia stuff...
You know what your right about what you say that after watching anime you will not only get fun......you will also have a relation about what you see.....but for me the most thing i get after watching anime is only fun......but there are anime that can relate me after watching......well...who knows what kind of anime is that...hehe...
Well, it really depends on the kind of anime you watch. If you stick to the cutsey series like Chobits and the like (dont get me wrong, it was adorable and I loved it), chances are you won't take a whole lot away from them. If you get really into series like EVA or Ghost In The Shell, they bring up LOTS of intellectual issues - philosophical, religious, ect. Personally, I enjoy a series that will make me THINK. I also like a series that will capture me emotionally, and make me feel for the characters or the situation they are in. Theres no telling what series that will be until you watch it, so I end up watching a lot of anime when I have time :)
I get inspiration for my ideas. Anime allowes me to expand my imagination. Of course that is only true if is good anime.

I get to buy stuffs XP most of the time I watch anime so I can be inspired to draw most especially action packed stuffs, vampires and with good graphics.
Depends... some Anime just give me fun. I'm never really inspirated my Naruto for example.
Some Anime make me think. Like Gankutsuou.
And some just move and/or inspire me D:
Depends on the Anime, but If I need inspiration I tend to try watching some random Anime ^^
One Piece for example moves me... I dont really know why ^^
Maybe it's the friendship between the characters which I would love to experience with some people too...
I just dunno, but One Piece gives me Fun, moves me and inspires me ^^"

After watching a good anime I usually make a recap of it ramble off to all my friends then spam every fourm/ventrilo I know saying hey go watch this it was mad good. And if it's truly a good anime I'll buy the box set.

Initially I did wonder to myself too...am I simply just wasting my time watching anime or reading manga instead of doing something more constructive? But later on, I found out that there are some things worth learning about from manga and anime.
In manga/anime, anger, jealousy, determination, love and other kinds of feelings and emotions are displayed very straightforwardly, which are not very easily expressed in the real world. In reality, we have a huge mixture of so many emotions, while in manga/anime, most good guys display only a certain kind of trait, and the same goes for bad guys. So, we are able to figure out these morals more directly, or relate to more easily.
Actually I thought there is also some underlying meaning in Chobits. I mean, it seems to me that they are trying to show what are the possible effects when computers become humanized, whether if there can be love between a computer and a human, and I sort of realized it especially the part when the owner of the shop where Chii works fell in love with his computer. Anyway, that was what I thought.
