Study Habits!
I'm just curious because I need to develop better study habits during this coming school year. I take an advanced course and last year I was doing fairly well during the first and second terms, but when it came down to the final exams I completely bombed them. Especially math which landed me in summer school for that course -__-" But when at the end of that month my mark was an 81% I dont know if its because it was summer school or I paid attention. I guess it was cause I was addicted to WoW and CZ that prevented me from doing my homework and studying.
Anyway I just want to know what you guys do to keep your grades up in school, like if you have some sort of special schedule or just someone to bug you to do your homework and study before tests.

Mmm...I don't have good study habits...well actually I don't have any study habits but somehow I usually end up with an A or a B in my classes. I guarantee I've never studied for more than 20 minutes in my entire life. I never do my homework until the last minute, which is usually going "psst, whats the answer to..." but it usually works out. My parents do bug me multiple times during the day to see if I did my homework. Hmm...well I'm hoping you have better 'study habits' than me.
My advice would be "to make up your mind". Just make youself do it, even if you dont want to. Better make few sacrafices now and then live happily after. Do as you think is best. And about the math thingy - just practice.

My study habits are non exsistant at this moment and i pass on the norm with c,d,b's guess im lucky but im told colledge is completly diffrent so but get some good study habits lol
Read the text and take notes from it. That's the best thing to do while studying.
Of course this is supplemental to taking notes during class and trying to stay awake during lectures. I find it very helpful when studying for tests and such. It's rather time consuming but when your in the mood or force yourself to be then it pays off well.
Just by reading the material, it often goes in and out without staying in your memory. By writing it down, the information makes a pit stop in your brain and stays there for a while.
Additionally re-writing notes is also good when you've got a short expiration date on information.
I'm rather inconsistent with my studies and habits. It all depends on my motivation that day yet generally when I hit the grindstone doing that is the best method for study.

My study habits are okay but I don't study for math at all :D For geo though, cause I suck at it and I didn't want it to pull down my average I would go home and review those notes like 30 minutes each or every other day so I know it well. Therefore, when a geo test is coming, I would just review those notes for a little while longer and done. It actually works cause I went from low 70s and high 60s(in geo tests) to an 86% and 80s.
There was this science unit I totally sucked on and it didn't help cause I wasn't able to pay attention in class(it was so boring so I was really half asleep even though I was sitting at the front of the class^__^So I asked one of my friends to help me study and she really helped me a lot because she was interested in that unit and did really well. The day before the test, I started to study right when I got home continued to study and study until it was 4 in the morning. It was worth it cause I got an 84% on that big unit test :D
But for the other subjects, I don't really do that and I study for a couple of hours a few days before the test^^Most importantly, pay attention to what the teacher says in class, it'll help you a lot

I don't have much of a study habit...I'm able to keep my grades up only because if my grades are low=no computer, and summer classes for the whole summer.Whenever I feel a little bored with the computer or TV,I'd take out a study book of a subject I'm not good at,or haven't done the homework.
Before exams and such,my mom'd always sit next to me and force me to study...

Hehehe. I don't have a study habit except that I just pay attention in class, do all my homework and Study/revise at home. Although I do have a weird studying time which is from 9pm till 4am. I usually sleep after that and wake up fresh at 6.30am. Yeah, I do have a small sleeping time. Jut don't procrastinate and don't be lazy.
Lol... you can't pick up a study habits over night. And about the test, I know exact how you feel, because I am the same. In high school, I was getting 90% on my chem, then bombed in-class final and the provincial final, ended up with a 70% average. some people just arnt the test type

Prioritize. :)
If you have other activities, for example, you may have to shorten the time spent on them or drop them altogether. Set a schedule and stick to it...Like during exams, I study for two hours or until I finish reading what I have to read. Then after a break, I go back to studying. The key here is to manage time, so that you can study enough without getting exhausted, or (the opposite) you can get enough rest without having to cram later on. Know what to do, and know when to do them.
Always listen to the teacher. I KNOW it's boring, but this is pretty important, because some teachers won't give you notes to copy. So take down your own notes - and if you have to remember something, make a story out of it. Make it silly if you want; as long as it helps you remember, it's alright. XD
Or if you just CAN'T listen, find other books - reference materials and the like - or copy notes from your classmates. :P
And speaking of which...Classmates are good sources of info. I don't mean cheating here, but if you have some smart friends, you can ask them to tutor you. I mean, once I had a friend of mine sit down and tutor me in physics, and for each explanation he gave me (that I understood), I'd give him a cookie. XD

When trying to remember something (like for a test) I re-write what I need to know like, 10 times. It's hard but it works and usually makes me pass with "flying colours"...or at least a B+ XD
And if I'm really bored I just read from my textbooks and such. I'm not good with homework, though...I sometimes do my homework last minute. And other times, I'll do it after I eat dinner because that's usually the most boring part of my day. I don't know why, but before the 8th Grade I had trouble paying attention in class and doing projects/homework (yet for some strange reason I still got A's and B's...) but ever since Grade 8 started last year I was always listening in class. O.o So that helps a lot. Being interested in what the teacher says in class helps a lot with study habits in my opinion. ^^

Bluntly, I don't take notes. I discard them when school is over. The only notes I save are for classes I didn't do too well in, or I'm going to be taking again next year. Like mandarin, I keep my notes from mandarin because, well, I need them later! And physics, I'm taking AP next year so I saved my notes from last year.
Good study habits, well, I guess you should take notes, for one. Go home and reread them, for another and do your homework. It's just a matter of making effort. I don't make effort, I dislike most subjects. I'm good with history and English. I hate math, I'm okay with science.
You should really go over your notes before a test. Make flashcards or something. If you need to memorize terms or foreign language vocabulary, it's best to just read them out loud or write them over and over again.

I don't have any study habits.
I cram.
I study only upon the last minute/s.
But i do write notes, and listen (sometimes) to mour C.I.
I guess that's how i pass my subject. tee-hee.^^

I don't really study... i remember the last time i studied i got a lower grade then when i didn't
The studying probably messed up my mind of what was what.. anyway if i had to study then i'd probably read it over in my head several times, write it over again and then after writing it over and over it sticks in your head [although this method can get annoying if you don't have patience]
hope i helped you =]

I use to study all the time and I mean to the point where I fried my brain
(really not a good idea). After that I just decided to give up on studing and just try my best and I gess it worked cause I got A&B honor role.
