Anyways, it's kind of an obvious topic... Is their anything you guys/gals enjoy that your friends think are completely and utterly lame? A lot of my friends get on me for my whole "asian chick" fetish, aha... And for my love of Anime... They're always making amusing hentai references in regards to what I like, etc... and basically just dogging me for something they just can't grasp on their own...

Now that is embarassing.
My friends think my fashion sense is out of date, always a set of jeans with shirt and a long sweat shirt every now and then. Personally, my wardrobe is half empty all the time, so when I say it is bad, it actually means something and they think I am strange cause I don't make decent purchases for clothes.
Everyone, at college especially back then, thought I was old, and that I don't have money for proper night out clothing, which I just can't bothered with especially since no one really cares except the self concious. Fact is, also, I spent most of it paying back for my 18 inch wheelers.

Nah, actually, most of them make fun of the fact that I pine after macho, handsome guys. *coughcough* I'm not guy-obsessed, but they just like to make fun of the fact that the guys I do set my eyes on turn out to be gay or something. It's kind of frustrating. XD

Oh... you mean like watching anime?
Some of my pals(not quite friends) don't even know I watch anime because they will have that stupid ideea: ohh, you watch that stupid thing? not even knowing what anime is really like. My best friends know it, most of them watch it, bee it that they watched it even before knowing me or they started after that, some of them borrowing them from me.
I don't cook, that makes some of my friends laugh at me. I like some foods that they consider stupid :)). I climb the stairs and don't take the elevator, that's kind of akward for some of them

Lol, I have the basics of cooking down pretty well... And yeah, Omni, I know what you're talking about... My wardrobe consists of basketball shorts, jeans, and T-shirts... Aha... I never liked putting money into clothing that'll fade or I'll grow out of when I could put it towards something so much more important like gaming or anime...

My friends are ashamed that i'm really bad at telling stories >_> (bad transitions)
One-half of my friends are just utterly perplexed at why i like anime, so they kind of annoy and pester me with their questions. It does get quite redundant. The other half of my friends also have the same interests as me, so we get along fine.

like one of my friend i really like foreign/english songs..while she usually dont like it and she likes japanese songs more (i sing japanese song too ven kinda dull with its lyrics lolx)..and whenever i sing english songs (like mychem and simple plan) she find it really disgusting and tells me to stop singing it,and tell its really "ew or duh" i just cant understand it but well i guess i just stop singing english songs infront of her and she usually see me singing with my other friends (english song)s while she,being a kind of weird and the only want who really can memorize japanese songs,being a loner also.i just guess we should learn our differences and uniqueness with each other.

I would say that most of my friends don't give a damn if i like anime or not, it wont change the fact that we are friends if i watch it or not.
Agree on the clothing also, my wardrobe consist with a few jeans, T-shirts, few shirts (3 i think..) and a suit.. . Some of the guys i know just bash me everytime i wear jeans+shirt clothing but who the heck cares what they think, its not that i am wearing like a homeless bum, those clothes are comfortable.. .

Ugh, all my friends think I'm weird for liking anime. It's like they're saying that dramas are some how more mature. -_-" They make it seem like I'm stuck in the little kid stage or something. Of course drama shows can sometimes be fun, but I love anime and manga. They all used to love it too when we were younger, but now it only seems like they moved on because they think it's immature to like those things at our age. I'm fourteen, how can that be considered immature I tell you!? XD That's just my girl friends though. My guys friends totally love everything that I like. ^o^
Fortunatelly our friends are more "otaku" than we do :P so we know eachother perfectly we are not ashame to say what we like because they lik the same, anime

erm..yeah. Same here. Sometimes people think watching anime is immature. Well, no. What about people who watch the Simpsons, Future Rama, Transformer? Then what is that? Should we call them super immature? or The kings of immatures? Watching things you like doesn't even make you immature.
Yes. Some friends do tease you about watching anime or reading manga(s). I remember how I accidentally buy a wrong manga, tenjou tenge, which one of my friend mistakenly give me the advice. After I buy the manga, everyone thinks I'm a pervert. Sometimes, I do even find friend don't understand what I say. Immature huh? Yeah, right. More important is depend on the person or people you are with. Every person's though are not always the same.

Well i get that all the time now in colledge i havent found any one yet that likes anime or manga yet. every one that i asked after talking with them now think i am immature for likeing anime, manga, and buying a couple of figurines.
