Guns cause I can kill more with less efforts. If you use a sword you might have a problem getting close to your opponent/s.

Guns would be a more effective and faster way of killing people but there's no satisfaction in that as well as no skill in it as well. Any average Joe can bend down pick one up, aim and fire. Chances of killing or at least fatally wounding someone is pretty high unless of course said Joe was a complete idiot and couldn't aim to save his life. Swords on the other hand show more finesse as well as a command of skills that have been honed. An average Joe can't go over to a sword rack and pick out a sword and kill a person mainly due to additional weight and length that adds awkwardness in its usage.
Overall I would choose the sword since it actually takes some skill and is a more interesting choice of weapon than the gun.

Guns! Guns! Guns! Guns are better, guns are better, guns kill people better, guns are cooler, guns are more efficient, guns get the job done easier. Guns are just better. Cmon, when you want to assassinate someone, do you want a .50 caliber sniper rifle or a sword?
If you've ever watch Black Lagoon, that last showdown was pretty awesome. Revy against Gin (right?), guns against sword and in the end, the sword guy lost becayse of something Rock said. XD

Guns are more effective. You can aim at someone and press only one finger in order to shoot.
Swords are definitely cooler in my opinion, the skill to draw and weild a sword is an art.Also in close range sword > gun, unless you are already on the aim but then again you have about 0.01 % to block the bullet with the sword(which is only obtainable by luck, let us not come with the bullshit that a godlike swordsman can block the bullet by seeing it flow through the air or feeling its energy
). A good swordsman would be able to see or predict the movement of the aggressor and try to dodge/avoid the bullet in any way he can find.
However i can't justify the things i wrote, simply because the art of swordsmanship is nothing compared to what it were centuries ago.

iIn the world of the RPG and other video games where in the arsenal it is as much swords as pistols first always have the advantage in force by the reason that the short combat to distacia is but exciting that to be remote of the action. but in the real world simpre are those use knives are losers that do not have money for a then pistol when agrecivos are put leave dead.
Lol, guns, of course. You don't have to be a particularly skillled user to kill someone with a gun. I guess that the same can be said with swords, but it just takes less effort to kill someone with a gun. ^^; But that's if I was in a life or death fight. In terms of RPGs, I like swords better, way more elegant than a gun. That's only over a gun. I like daggers better.

A sword is a fine weapon then you know how to use. I practice every day with two Turkish style knives or Jungle machete like they use in the Vietnam war, 
it's hard to get use to it
But since they are somehow impractical for todays killers standard (First Person shooting games
) then it would be better to carry a gun

I'd take the gun, probably. Far easier to inflict damage (from the layman's point of view) - and personally, just as cool as swords and knives. Easier to conceal, too :P
Well, for different purposes and situations I'd use one over the other. Guns are basically perfectly designed to kill someone, nothing else. Depending on the gun, it can be powerful, but loud. Now, when it comes to a "silent assassination" mission, would you use a gun? I think not, people would start to panic and go nuts, in a situation like this, I'd use a sword to stab them, put my hand over their mouth and yeah, job done. (As long as no one saw you.)

In terms of coolness, I would have to say a sword but of course, if you're talking about effectiveness then yeah, guns. At times though, watching someone dual wield hand guns on tv is a pretty fun sight to behold also :-P

I prefer using guns. its common sense, guns are more powerful than swords. in this modern day no samurai-weilding warrior can win against a gun-weilding one
Swords, but I'd go for a Dante style.

Tell you what. You stand at one end of the room with a sword and I'll stand at the other end with a gun. Then we'll both attack each other. Whichever weapon comes out on top is the coolest. ;)
I think both our awesome and would choose either a gunblade or bazooka.
